It’s truly amazing how a single song can have such a effect on so many of us that grew up in the 60’s. As I’m 74 yr old now and I cherish all my old songs yet ,”Walk Away Renee “ means more to me. Bob
It was 1982 in high school. I fell for a girl named Renee hard; and likewise her with me. She would write me amazing love notes. Then on Valentine’s Day I gave her candy and she was about to cry, “I can’t go out with you anymore, my dad got transferred to Florida”. We lost contact after that and think of her every time I hear this song. I jokingly call her “move away Renee”. God bless and keep you Renee - wherever you are… I wish you nothing but happiness.
@@ryw5862w very very true. At 68 I still have some of those precious memories burning in my mind knowing that I can’t go back in time. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and that is a precious memory time can’t take from me. 50yrs worth of memories.
In 1974 I was expecting my first child and had a few names on the list if it was a girl. This song was playing on the radio and instantly I said to my husband that's the name I would love and he agreed. We had a girl and we named her Renee and she is 48 and a wonderful daughter.
I loved this song the first time I heard it and I get a chill up my spine when I hear a great song, even from the first time. Pretty Ballerina was the same thing.
I first heard this song on the radio during the late sixties. I managed to record it on tape with a microphone next to the radio speaker. Sound quality not so good but that was all I could afford as a student.
that's how i did it also! a mic on a footstool- right in front of the speaker- and when the d j put on a good one- run for it, and hit record! lol low tech? i guess!
I named my daughter Renee, She does not visit me anymore it has been too long and the years are passing away too fast. Why she does not come to see me I will never know, she just does not want to visit and that is so sad
A true timeless classic !!!! I have felt that way since my high school graduation in 1966!! 😊😊😊
Music writers of today - take notice; this is what great music is all about.

Ms Bryant was convincing in her part ... just walking away! (Good video!)
The left bank of the Seine River in Paris is where the artists and writers hung out. I wonder if that is where the group got it's name.
