    This ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for the awesome product just in time for the holidays.

    From your idea and others on UT,
    I thank you! Your design along from others helped me make a decision and solve my own fireplace dilemma. (Double-face fireplace for the den and patio) without allowing animals, Intruders, or weather easy access to the inside of the dwelling. Since I'm pouring the concrete for the patio and den this makes the perfect time to properly plan the fireplace design and location.

    Mortar works better then glue.
    Rustoleum high temp paint for your bare carbon steel that will rust the heck out being in such a humid area.
    Broski that design would have worked great for the corner of your patio, that way no obstructions to your view, since you went so high. Other then that, cool design and hope it lasts a while.

    • @SebastianBalos
      @SebastianBalos  3 роки тому +1

    Good job man, I=ve been thinking about something similar, building an outdoor kitchen on the farm and I got some red bricks or block pavers laid around so came on here for inspiration and found you, I laughed all the way through, swearing, drinking beer and using what I have instead of spending money, ha ha would love to work with you on a project I work just the same!
    Too late now but I would of filled the pit with any old crap, rocks or hardcore and just dressed off the last six inches with gravel. Maybe I will skim some high temp morter on the inside but I doubt it I´m too lazy. You ever find yourself in Sweden come to the farm man.

    Will those blocks crack from the heat, especially if wet? How are they holding up after using?
    I did a pig pit with concrete blocks and its falling apart from heat.

    • @SebastianBalos
      @SebastianBalos  3 роки тому +2

      Based on similar fire pits built many years ago with similar pavers. Id say that they should not crack from heat for a long time. That being said. Its hard to judge the quality of the pavers vs fire size and frequency. I will follow up with other videos if things go south with this pit/place. Follow along.

  • @xylos16

    im curious why you used locktite glue instead of mixing a bucket of cement? Also I wish you would have showed yourself using it at the end of the vid.

    • @SebastianBalos
      @SebastianBalos  3 роки тому +1

      2 reasons.
      1 - it is just WAY easier to use.
      2 - i am experimenting to see how it holds up. i have faith that it will. I plan on doing a follow up video after several dozen fires to see how it holds up. stay tuned.

    Why remove the pavers , why not build on top??

    • @SebastianBalos
      @SebastianBalos  3 роки тому

      3 main reasons.
      1 - you are able to easily level the build
      2 - in my opinion taking them out also makes the build look more professional.
      3 - you can add some drainage under it.
      But at the end of the day you could just do it on top as well. Cheers!
