Seth!!!! We went to grad school together at Auburn. Hope you are doing good bud. I've never met Jim but he keeps interviewing all these people I have worked with in the past.
I so enjoyed this video! Making a list right now of Camellias I want to plant this fall (mostly Sasanqua variety, but after seeing the Mockingbird Blush, my mind has been opened to Japonica as well). Seth was a joy to watch - his enthusiasm is contagious! I have really enjoyed this whole series of you visiting different gardens and growers. Keep ‘em coming!
A hit series for sure, Jim!!! Seth was absolutely charming as well as knowledgeable. Camellias hold a very special place in my heart; many years ago, someone I cared about deeply brought me a blossom on his return trip from Bay Minet, AL. I had never seen a camellia before, was immediately captivated and thus began my love affair with them. I live in zone 6b (Lexington, KY) and they normally don’t grow here but I have a double pink one that blooms on rare occasions, mild weather in late winter and early spring, and it is lovely! I have lost as many as 32 buds in a bad year! 😥 In a good year, I had 27 blossoms and this is on a plant less than 4’ tall. 🥰 Only two buds on it now…
Oooh, what a pleasant video this is! Enjoyed getting to "meet" Seth and see such a lovely garden - I really appreciate the more natural look and seeing all those huge camelia and azalea! Thanks for bringing us all these experts and their gardens!
I really enjoyed this one Jim. What a nice enthusiastic guy Seth was. I had to laugh, when you all looked at that old old Japanese sasanqua I said to myself that looks like a peony blossom here in Illinois and then you all started about peony. :)
I was just there last thursday when they had there flower sale... Love this place.... It's only a 15 minute drive from my house... Glad you came down in my area Jim...
Wow! What a treat. I didn't know that many beautiful camellia types. Some of the flowers look like Autumn Lilly Azalea (which I planted eight this week). The garden is so beautiful even in the fall. Thank you.
Seth thank you for the wonderful tour and sharing your knowledge. I learned so much in the first four minutes! Jim as I’ve mentioned before I love and appreciate this series. Thanks for traveling around. And especially thanks for putting up the information about the plants on tour.
The only problem with this video is it is too short! I could have listened to Seth a lot longer. For a guy that started out nervous, he was great when he was talking about his favorite subject! 😊
I’d love to travel to some of these gardens with you to see what you see. Any chance you’ll start something like that? Also can you give a list of gardens to see if we can get in your area. I watch your videos on my lunch break and rarely have time to finish them let alone jot down any info.
I just noticed my rhododendron has a few flowers and buds about to open soon. That’s quite unusual for this huge shrub. No idea what variety it is but it usually blooms late spring.
Never been a fan of Camellias Jim, you are beginning to win me over with your videos - I think it was the Harper Lee! Really enjoying the Plant Masters series, I feel like I'm in the garden with you
Soooo.... question.... I live in Kentucky and for my zip code I am zone 6B... however the town next over ( less than 5 miles) is zone 7A. Think I would be safe in growing Camellias? I love them but they are a zone 7, so I never gave them much thought til I realized that my next door neighbors are zone 7A. How much wiggle room is there in these zone recommendations???
@@JimPutnam thank you! I will find one and give it a go! They are such delicate and lovely blooms on such Large and strong looking shrubs. And no thorns!! 😀
This series is amazing getting a front row seat to all these gardens and growers please continue. Seth was fun unique Camellias. Thanks!

Great series, Jim! Seth is absolutely charming - would love to see his hair down 😊
Fabulous to enjoy a Botanical Garden without travelling. Thanks for your tour.

Great tour!! What a beautiful location!!
I love your channel! It's so amazing and such a delight for you to introduced us to the people that are behind the plants we are buying! 😍

Nice spot and it looks great this time of year. 👌😎

I know what you mean, my rhododendron fully bloomed this spring and again this fall. So interesting. ( Zone 6.)
3 varieties of my Hosta are rebloomimg while their foliage is dying back. It's been a weird year!
@@katiekane5247 it has been a weird year. I wonder if it means a more mild winter.
I am loving the tour videos. Hope to see more in the future.
One of my favorite places!
Just planted Leslie Ann. Just starting to bloom. Pretty!
It's a good one. I grew it for several years
Heavenly! Where do people find these amazing plants??? I have 2 camellias and several azaleas, but I have never seen any of these ones!
Definitely give Camellia Forest a look
💗 love the camellias. Thank you.
Good info………. Must have the Harper Lee camellia.
Me too!!
@@JimPutnam So Jim, how many plants did you come home with, and how many have you added to your shopping list? Lol
I actually came home with a Hemiboea from.this video. It was in the video at mark Weathington's house. Seth gave me one. I'm almost out of room here🤣
Those are nice plants but I can't grow any of them here in central NY.
Oh, I thought you meant gardens in a truck. This is much better. 🤪
Never been a fan of Camellias Jim, you are beginning to win me over with your videos - I think it was the Harper Lee! Really enjoying the Plant Masters series, I feel like I'm in the garden with you
What is the ground cover under the brevistyla?
What’s the trick to having them look so healthy? Dry shade? Soil type? Planting for success? I gave my son one and it’s struggling.
What is the black spot icon the last plant?
Sooty mold

You should look at some of the winter series camellias. Camellia forest usually has them. They are zone 6 hardy

👍❤️😊
Lord have mercy that spider was HUGE 😳
There were lots of them, but they are easy to see!
1:50 why is he breathing so heavily 🤭🤭😳😳 sounds like he’s about to have a heart attack
