Mr. Cox seems like such a gentle soul. Please visit again so we can enjoy more of his vision and passion for his landscape. It was a complete pleasure, thank you for sharing your time with him with us.
What a sweet man, I teared up. He and his wife have an amazing vocation. I wish I were closer and could visit the Cox Arboretum, so thank you Jim and Steph for sharing this with us.
Mr. Cox is a delight - I'm grateful for you and Stephany bringing us all the wise gardeners, like Tom and Evelyn. So 'make yourself useful' and keep up this (truly priceless) series!
Mr. Cox’s book is currently on my nightstand, it’s a wealth of information. A trip to his arboretum is on my bucket list for sure. What a great interview!
Thank you, Tom and Evelyn Cox, for this wonderful mini tour of the Cox Arboretum. Jim and Stephany, it was a pleasure to listen as Tom talked about the various trees and shrubs in their landscape. Frosty is an adorable rescue dog, and I'm guessing that he's probably a delightful addition to Tom and Evelyn's household. I planted my first (with more to follow next spring) ginkgo tree 2 years ago. It's a ‘Mariken’ Dwarf Ginkgo Biloba, and I love it, so naturally, I’ll need to plant more ginkgo trees in my landscape especially after seeing the 'Saratoga' Gingko. I purchased mine online from Matt and Tim at Mr. Maple. Thanks for another fascinating video, Jim and Stephanie. Also, I loved the dance at the end of this video! ~Margie💃💐🤗
I also love my Mariken dwarf ginkgo, just moved it last month to a sunnier location, so I have a bit of worry for it until it shows new leaves in the spring (as would any tree parent).
Thank you Mr. Cox! I could listen to you talk about these trees all day. Your ability to know what all these trees and conifers is absolutely amazing. I can't remember some of the plants I have in my tiny gardens. Lol
I definitely can relate to Mr. Cox when it comes to conifers. Here in zone 6b we've been adding many of them to our garden for winter interest. I enjoy looking out the window this time of the year and not seeing a 'horror movie' type of landscape where is everything is dead or dormant. Thank you Jim for this awesome video.
I fell in love with N. Georgia when my parents moved to Roswell. As soon as I graduated college in Evanston, Illinois, I moved too. Currently in beautiful Dawson county & have no plans to leave. Thanks for sharing Jim & Mr. Cox! A visit is on my list.
Mr. Cox! What a lovely landscape you have! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Thank you Jim for visiting Mr. Cox and sharing your video. I hope to plant some of these beautiful trees.
How delightful! So knowledgable. I am going to start liming my Ginko. What a wonderful garden. A lifetimes work. So blessed to be able to share in it. Thank you!
Omg I really loved watching Mr. Cox give us a tour of his beautiful work of art. I felt like it ended to soon too. It only made me crave more of what’s around the next bend. Please please please go back. ASAP!! I could get lost wandering around for hours and enjoy every minute of it. What an amazing place and an amazing historian
Twenty-five minutes is clearly not enough time in this amazing arboretum with such a lovely knowledgeable man. I hung on his every word. Thank you, Jim and Stephany, for enriching our lives by sharing so many beautiful people and places. 🤎🍂💛🍁🧡
Thanks Jim and Stehanie, and Mr and Mrs Cox! Beautiful! Truly enjoy all of your videos, but especially the visits to these private gardens and talks with passionate gardeners!
Oh my gosh what a spectacular landscape from Mr Cox and also what a true spectacular gentlemen as Mr Cox.. he has such a wonderful since of humor. Such a precious knowledgeable Man/Gardener and so appreciate his sharing of such gorgeous trees and conifers!! Thanks Jim & Stephanie for providing us on utube such glorious content as Cox Arboretum gardens !!!♥️
Jim, I gotta say right from the get-go, this has got to be, for me, one of your most inspirational videos! I could listen to Mr. Cox all day! He is such a font of gardening knowledge as well as a teller of plant stories, like gems. 👌✅❤️
Thanks so much, Jim and Steph, for bringing us to such a gorgeous garden. It was a treat to see a little sliver of the Cox collection, and to get a sense of Mr. Cox. What a special video and I'm happy that you plan to go back at some point. It is so inspiring to see how the trees are positioned - absolutely breathtaking!!! I've heard his book mentioned by other gardeners and now I may have to order it, even though I don't live in the South. Thanks again!
Thanks once again for sharing. The guys from MrMaple also have an interview with Mr. Cox that the viewers will enjoy. Such a wealth of knowledge, the passion is what drives us all to garden.
Wow, that was an interesting vid Jim. I had no idea the size and variety of Mr. Cox's collection in North America. So impressive. That really is a majestic place. TY
What a lovely visit. Thank you Tom and Evelyn for sharing the beautiful Cox Arboretum with all of us. Your passion and dedication is a gift to us. Jim and Stephany, what a great visit (yes, too short) but happy for the amount of time we had. Loved the intro music and the ending dance. 🌲❤
Such an inspirational and enjoyable video. Thank you all and especially Mr. Cox. For all of us who cannot visit different gardens throughout the country it is truly a gift to get a glimpse of yet another amazing example of someone's passion for horticulture. Perfection!
So STUNNING 😍 I am in awe of all the beauty. Thank you Jim and Stephanie for taking us along. And thank you Mr. & Mrs. Cox and puppy for sharing your knowledge and wonderful collection. Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to you ALL.
Please visit annually... your visit has definitely moved my goal to visit the Cox Arboretum up several notches on my wishlist; it was added as a travel destination last year, when international arborists (on social media) simply gush over the magical importance of the Cox preserve and trials of thousands of worldwide varieties. Tremendous garden. Thank you for sharing.
A conifer garden tour just fills my heart. This garden tour is one of your best. I too have had a conifer garden for many years here in now zone 6a eastern Washington. I loved to hear that expression when growing conifers of falling on your face means you are moving forward. This is what I have experienced and now I do not feel so bad with all my loses. I have to tell you that I too have experienced in a very different climate and region than you all, that I seem to never fail with Cryptomeria's. It does not matter sun shade bad weather, too much water, frozen long winters, the cryptomeria always comes through. I only wish I could get a hold of more, except that Black dragon, it is a "dog". Thank you for showing that truly you cannot go wrong with all year interest with conifers.
What a wonderful collection -- very inspiring. I will be looking at my garden this winter with a view to enhancing the winter color with more conifers. The variation in color and texture really stand out when the deciduous foliage is gone. Steph is a great videographer -- she conveys the poetry of plants and gardens beautifully.
That was truly a treasure and such an informative video to watch. Mr. Cox has such a wealth of information and knowledge. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Beautiful! I am a cone head myself. I only know a fraction of the information that you both do so I will continue to enjoy and learn from your shows. Thank you!
Awesome and inspiring garden. Starting to get an obsession with dwarf conifers, going to pick up the book to try to keep them alive and thrive here in the Lake Norman vicinity. Great stuff Jim!
🙏thank you so much for sharing your garden. The garden filled with lives and nature. The colors in the fall in your garden is amazingly beautiful. I learn a lot about conifers collection are beautiful. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR BEAUTIFUL GARDEN. Happy Thanksgiving 🙏
Wow!! Thanks Mr Cox for allowing Jim to share this beautiful garden with us! It sure is eye opening! With the array of gorgeous conifers Mr Cox has in his arboretum, I’m even more fired up to plant more trees especially evergreens. I hope one day down the line, my yard will be near 10% as beautiful as his yard! It’s absolutely breathtaking mix of colors, sizes, shapes and heights of beautiful trees!! I’ll be looking for Mr Cox’s book as I’m in process of selecting trees to plant in my yard. I don’t have the luxury like Mr Cox’s big yard and am in zone 8b where zone appropriate conifers are much more limited. I’ll have to do some homework to find the right mix of trees to create a colorful 4 season canvas! Mr Cox and Jim, I’m really drawn to spruce trees, especially the blue ones. Would you help me find a few where I can safely plant them? What happen if I plant anything that is zone up to, say, 3-7, in zone 8b? Thanks Jim for another great tour of magnificent gardens!! Thanks again and please keep it coming! 😃👏 🌳 🌲🌲🌳🌲🌲🌳🌲🌲🌳
Jim - love everything you do but these garden features are top notch! I love hearing about the design process and why people selected which plants and how people discovered what was an unexpected standout in their garden. This goes for the home gardener or the Level 10 gardeners like Mr. Cox and his wife, Evelyn. I’m going to have to schedule a visit ASAP. Keep developing the great content - return visits are always welcome :)
Thank you for sharing, being from the north, Michigan, it's amazing all the beauty you are introducing us to in the south! Thank you to the Cox's for sharing their passion with us and thank you for introducing us to such wonderful places! I still long to get ahold of a dwarf gingko for my small lot. They are so unique! Curious, when you travel the world and find plants, trees you like, do you get cuttings? Or go home and mail order?
Hah, Stephanie! What a great video. I knew that about gingkos, so I have the tiniest little gingko in a pot in my yard. I'm nervous to plant it out because I don't want it to die! Great tip about adding lime - my clay soil is surely acidic but I'll measure the ph when I pick a spot just to be sure it's necessary.
Princeton Sentry ginkgo that I had in New Jersey, would be yellow one day and the next day bare with a circle of yellow leaves on the ground. The leaves really did fall in 24 hours and usually over night. Have never seen another tree since that did that, so some of the "what they say" is true!
Mr. Cox seems like such a gentle soul. Please visit again so we can enjoy more of his vision and passion for his landscape. It was a complete pleasure, thank you for sharing your time with him with us.
Rest in Paradise. Thank you for your knowledge and inspiration 🙏
What a sweet man, I teared up. He and his wife have an amazing vocation. I wish I were closer and could visit the Cox Arboretum, so thank you Jim and Steph for sharing this with us.
I teared up too.

What a wonderful and learned human! And his collection... just astonishing. The total effect is sheer beauty.
Rest in peace Mr. Cox. His book was what got me into the world of conifers living in the south.
Oh please go back and visit Mr. Cox again, such a pleasure to watch this video. Thanks to all of you for sharing!
Thank you for the drone shots! I would love to walk through the Cox arboretum. Many thanks to the doctor for hosting.

This gentleman is doing great work saving all of these trees. I loved the story about Korea! I could hang out there all day!
The things that Steph has to do to ensure the equipment is functioning properly is mind-buggling. Thank you for all your hard work behind the camera.
Mr. Cox is so educational, knowledgeable and passionate about plants. Wonderful episode, thank you
OMG this conifer garden looks breathtaking, especially from the sky view. Thank you Mr. Cox and Jim. I really enjoy this garden tour.
