The Targeting Computer is the most Fun modification I had in Fo4, effortless spamming on cluster enemies.
Targeting computer with two shot is the best.
Add the quad Barrell, you can rain down missles
The best thing about Missile Launcher is it's dmg potential, since this weapon benefits from big guns AND explosives upgrades it's damage goes up a few times above the base. Also don't forget the explosives bobblehead and Bloody Mess. That's a lot of damage!
The Assassin legendary modifier is really effective with the Missile Launcher but holy hell the 50% damage increase to humans also applies to _you_ as well if you do happen to shoot this thing in close proximity.

There's one that's very easy to get right outside of Back Street Apparel. It's rigged as a trap in one of the orange pipes on the flatbed trailer outside. There are several locations where I like to start off by saying hello with a missile launcher. Gunner's Plaza and Quincy being the big ones.
Partystarter is a great weapon, assassin is an incredibly useful legendary effect. Death From Above is not, because 95 percent of the time, if I'm aiming down sights, I'm stationary.
Using vats for grenades in fallout 3 is a lot of fun because they detonate instantly if they come in contact with the person
You always miss the massive con for all the explosive weapons in Bethesda games of sending loot flying off to God-know's where.
The missile weight on survival is absolutely nuts and makes the weapon almost useless except as a way to arm settlers or as a weapon to bring for a very specific and limited task.
True. On survival I tend to keep these in lockers at the top of towers in settlements. Break glass in case of attack, more or less. :P
Used this for the majority of my very first playthrough of FO4 (on survivial) using big guns/explosives build. The weight of each missile is a huge downside, but being able to take down multiple difficult enemies is great and, more importantly, really fun. Plus, missiles are weirdly semi common as an ammo type in containers, you might find the odd stockpile of 5-10 missiles every now and again. Triple and Quad barrels are kind of overkill, but if you like big booms then it's fun. Beware blowing yourself up though, happened to me far too many times 😭
I cant remember the name of the perk. But double damage to enemies at full hp just makes this a mini mini nuke

My question is whenever the party starter would deal more damage to the player character if you hit yourself in close quarters 🤔
Not bad as a backup weapon on a power armor build but I wouldn't use it as a primary. As the name implies it is really good for starting parties though.
The one big downside for the missile launcher in FO4 is just the fact that there is a lot of indoor fighting with powerful enemies, and also a decent number of fights where you'll be fighting multiple tough enemies that are all able to aim at you, but are far enough apart that you won't take full advantage of AoE. It's still one of the best weapons in the game, but I tend to use it as a secondary or keep it in storage between big missions. Without super strong legendary effects, most of the heavy weapons are only okay at best...but the missile launcher is an exception. One of the other big exceptions is the Harpoon Gun, which has the best damage/ammo cost ratio in the entire game and works great for single-target encounters as well as sniping (but takes some getting used to...I understand why so many people hate it).
One shot + stabilizer with neverending legendary effect. 💦💦

7:49 Does Instigating actually work on explosive weapons? I thought Instigating will proc on a direct hit, which is counted as a separate instance of damage as the explosion, and subsequently result in only a minor boost since the direct hit bonus is menial compared to the blast damage.
The rocket itself deals a 3 or so damage, so it lowers hp below max. If you shoot slightly off target then explosion will deal double damage. So you just need to shoot near target, not directly

I once spent and ungodly amount of time loot locking an instigating missile launcher. Was initially going for the two-shot effect, but it seems like the pool of possible legendary effects is limited for some guns like this one. The one I got proved to be good nonetheless, it's a nice thing for hunting vertibirds. There was at least one time when I blasted the whole vertibird crew mid-air, so by the time the paperplane hit the ground everyone aboard was... Well, not aboard anymore and not in one piece...
With that being sad it' s frustrating how this gun handles behemoths or warlords at high levels even with sneak attacks. Bullet sponges suck
Not a fan of the ML but I rarely use explosives anyway. It is solid though and your assessment is spot on.
something tells me fallout 4 would be better off with destruction given the missle launcher

Enjoying this series but I find it odd you don't use vats in FO4 since crits are tied into vats, unlike the other games. But hey, play how ya enjoy the game.

The Missile Launcher is infinitely better in Fallout: New Vegas. Different missile types are awesome.
Unique weapons in F4 do not have different stats than their base version.
All they are is a fixed configuration with mods, a legendary effect, and a name.
they _aren't unique_
