Hi Benjie! How are you brother! Love this one and the video of your 22nd street landing trip! Guess what dude? My fishing wheelchair gets delivered by UPS tomorrow! First ill have to take some video of the unboxing, then were going out to teat the sand with this puppy! Ill text you ok? We should make plans my friend! Hope you and your beautiful family are doing well! God bless you brother! Talk to you soon! Tight lines!
I can't remember exactly but I think it may be a size 3. Corbina will eat almost anything - mussel, lug worms, blood worms, ghost shrimp, along with sand crabs are your top bait options. They'll also eat all sorts of soft plastics - 2 to 3 inch grubs, curly tails, flukes, etc. They'll also hit hard baits like the lucky craft 110.
Love the fight corbina give - always nervous until the last second haha. Your sight fishing videos are always the most satisfying. Thanks for another great video!
Really appreciate the comment, yes they are such a good size considering we are sight fishing them. And on light gear the bigger ones are a handful! Tight lines!
A very fine showing of the benefits of viewing beach structure at low tide and the future deep fish holding holes on incoming/higher tides. How frequently does beach structure change; daily, weekly, weather, surf, tides? Wow it can change quickly? BK, you're a super "finesse" fisher!! It looked like you were working waters behind 2 fishers or surfers out front in such super "CLEAR", undisturbed waters and you found a fabulous fish. When you mention "leaders" you should indicate lengths. Do you ever skunk? Rate of skunks?
Got out this morning and fished the ITX CB1000 for the first time today. Great little reel. Got a really good bean, just under 24 inches, 10lb straight braid split shot sand crab. 2 hours fishing and around 10 casts total. All fish feeding single again made it rough. That reel has a great drag, very smooth.
socal flats fishin at its finest... I've been doing the same with a fly at another beach, just have a big kelp issue at the moment making it more challenging...
Ahhh that dreaded kelp!!! All part of our game though, things rarely stay the same. Which is why we appreciate it when we can capture moments where things line up!
Glad to hear that, yes I'm REALLY enjoying my Rockaway SP's as well. Okuma reels are great! The 3 I'd recommend you consider are the Ceymar HD, Inspira, and ITX CB. I own all three and I really like all of them!
To quote you Benjie, “just sharing the stoke”. Great video! No corbina for me on this day just dink perch.
Thank you Bob, it's always a joy to run into you on the sand. And on this day, you saved the day and gave me an opportunity. All credit to you!!

so many videos! I can’t watch them all in time 😁
haha sorry, It's been a busy summer of traveling and other commitments. Trying to catch up on the editing!
Curious what the split shot weight is, and if you happen to know of sand crab alternatives for corbina. Thx.

Pure excitement at the end! 🔥
Getting an eat in shallow water never gets old!

Nice video. Beans are incredibly strong fighters and a blast on light tackle.
Those honey badger baits are no joke.
They definitely work, tight lines!
are your baits scented?
No. Gulp camo worms are scented but I rarely use them nowadays.
Yellowfin Croaker and Corbina in the same session!! 💪
Wasn't a crazy session by any means but I do love having multi species days!
Do you think the Rockies or Angels will win?
That’s awesome. Last week, I fished a similar spot like that in Kitty Hawk. Totally loving my SP rods!
Thanks for the comment, yes the SP's are a fantastic series of rods by Okuma!

I like my Okuma rods so much, I am thinking of trying an Okuma reel as well.
