Put my daughter on 3 of mine at 16yrs old. At 18 she got her own Amex Gold and Blue Cash preferred, Discover, Chase Sapphire preferred and Amazon cards. Also, a car loan. Her credit score is actually better then mine 😅. I'm going to do the same for my son.
Wish my parents would've done the same! I'm 24 and just asked my mom to add me to her card from the 80s. It's used just enough to keep the account open and paid off in full. My nephew just turned a year old and I'm still building up my credit with plans to add him as authorized user 15 years from now lol.
When is the other way around where the parent has financial problems and opens the card and their kids name so they can even more in debt and then the kid ends up being 18 with jacked up credit.. that's a form of child abuse😢
Correct me if I’m wrong. My children are six or four years old, adding them as authorized users at 18 years old will be better because it’s my credit history that’s important not the AGE that they become authorized users?
If you become an authorized user and your credit improves, can you take out credit cards for yourself and then have the person remove you as an authorized user after?

I agree. Also the kid could file charges against the parent.
