Na that joke at the end got the like button for me lol! But thank you for this video! My husband and I are first time parents and we're trying to do the best we can for our kids. Thank you & God bless you and yours!
Can you do an updated video on this? Are there better card to get for them now or any other methods to help your child become rich while they're young?
I’ve been thinking about this for my kids for years. There 9 now and after seeing this video I’m going to add them. I have almost all the cards you listed
Hey Joshua, thank you so much for this helpful advice! I'm wondering if you would mind doing a video about a savings account for a child (1yo) for your childs' future? What are some good institutions to set up a long term savings that we could be making contributions to, as well as when family members gift him $$ for bdays/christmas etc we'll have a place to put those funds... want something that will be high interest yielding and easy to do online/mobile banking. Thanks! Love your content!
What if I may not have credit score for some reasons, won't I be able to live a happy life!? And yes I know that it makes it ease for renting, and etc ...
Doesn't the authorized user get the benefit of the full history of a given card (since the card was opened) when added as an authorized user. If so, is there any real benefit to adding them as a 1-year old vs a 16-year old?
Hey my dude, just a couple of questions. Does the child get a card or does your card just have their name on it? If its a card with their name are you constantly using it? If iI never use it will it have negative effects? TIA
Will it help their credit if you don’t even use that credit card let’s say you use it for six months and then get another credit card. I’m assuming that’s what you’re doing
Question: if you have a 60 day missed payment on another credit card But perfect payment history on the credit card you added your child to, could that other card affect your child’s credit score?
Also, just recently, I added my son to my second card, and it was an option to add their SSN, I didn't, and I honestly can't remember if I did for the 1st one ( I'm sure I did) does that make a difference?
For me Chase bank didn’t ask for a SSN they also do not report on a minors credit report. Aka your 1 year old can be an authorized user, but they’re not building credit from Chase. I’m still trying to figure out what Banks will report a 5mo old as an authorized user to the credit bureaus.
I wish I could do this but my teenager is very irresponsible. He can wait until he is 21 to get his own credit card.and be responsible for paying on it.
It's a bad idea, its good if you're good with money, but its bad if you a trash human being who doesn't care for the the well being of their kids. Reddit showed me many things.
You said so yourself, it's a good idea if "you're good with money." People who aren't good with money aren't doing this type of thing for their children. There are few exceptions.
He’s going to learn so many good things from you! 🙏
🙏🙏

Wise move, "investing in your son". Great point of view J!
Thanks Val! Did you happen to catch my video on the Bitcoin credit card? You made a guest appearance 😉
@@JoshuaMayo Hahaaaa, I'm famous now! 😎 Believe it or not, I've just checked and that's the only one without the red line on the bottom. I'm on it...

That's a smart Idea man good lookin out
But how do they make credit if capital one doesn’t ask for ssn under 18 yo??
What if I may not have credit score for some reasons, won't I be able to live a happy life!?

Another question I have is how do you know the information is actually being reported to their report as well?

If you remove them as an authorized user, do they also lose all of that history?
Thanks Bro!!!
No problem!
Does it really matter when they are added? They get the length of time of the card the moment they are added correct?
Here for the dad jokes let's goooooo

I have the same question. Does anyone have an answer?
Yes it does affect it. It's based off your credit activity and payments on ALL cards combined. It is not specific to 1 card individually.
Question i was thinking of adding my child but how would they build their credit if the credit card issuer does not ask for their social number
What happens to the score if you add them and remove them later?
Great 👍🏿
I wish I could do this but my teenager is very irresponsible. He can wait until he is 21 to get his credit card.
You could, you don’t even have to give them the card, just build them the credit
