The BMW 4 series is all-new for 2021, and with this redesign comes a controversial new look - at least from the front. The classic BMW kidney bean-style grilles are now vertical and larger than ever; we didn’t mind the look on our 430i xDrive Coupe but the facelift hasn’t sat well with everyone. Our tester, from Apple BMW of York, Pennsylvania, had the twin turbo 4 cylinder engine that pumps out 255hp - the more powerful 440i packs a whopping 382hp, and zips to 60mph in just about 4 seconds; both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the new 4 series remains largely unchanged and looks almost identical to the current 3 series, albeit with a little less space all around. We think the 4 series does a phenomenal job combining luxury, performance and pricing, making a beautiful German sports car attainable for many drivers who, in the past, may have settled for a lesser car because they were priced out of the segment. Most the premium brands have at least a couple models with huge grills but nobody’s ranting about them. Love the grills, especially in black rather than chrome.
I've watched pretty much all the BMW 4 series reviews on youtube and must say, this one is one of my favourites. Now I can't wait even more for the one that I have ordered.

It is about time they got away from the old and dated front grille, it is the reason why I never bought one until this passed weekend. Every other car has changed the front, it was about time bmw did this. Hopefully they won't go back.

Love the grills! If you ask me the 3 series looks more like a new Honda Accord than a BMW now days! The new grill looks aggressive and modern and not like every other BMW made in the last 30 years! One thing that will ruin the look is putting a lisence plate smack in the center! I like the look enough to buy a 23 430i Xdrive Gran Coupe in the Starburst Orange and Shadowline black trim with 20” BMW Individual wheels. Beautiful car!
Not sure if I missed it, does it have ambient lighting? Or do only 2022 and 2023 models have it?
What is m/s on the gears. Can you drive in s mode and is it automatic

Sticker shock on the 440 CV. Soft top, rwd , and extra cost for every color except white. Still $73k.

Beautiful car however to get the engine that matches the looks you have to 440I and that starts to get expensive. My other grip with BMW in general is although I at least think I understand the appeal, I think paying for option packages for equipment that’s standard in an Elantra isn’t good enough
The grill looks fine on black especially in non-M version.
The M-Sport trim looks far better. I quite like the iteration, I’ve ordered one myself. But if it looked like that I’d return it.
I just got mine last month. After 2k miles it has flat tires, needs oil change, and has a check engine light. Other than that, great car and don't mind the grille.

Hey, no 4 series review is complete with out the obligatory comment pointing out that the 4 series used to be the 3 series coupe, but now its the 4 series, and no longer a 3 series, but despite being called a 4 series its still a 3 series coupe. The grill is just to distract you from this.

I'd actually prefer a 430i review. It's the one most people who want a 4er could afford.

I disagree! Everyone always reviews the faster versions but I bet the 430/330 outsells the 440/340 by a huge margin.
