Our Hognose Laid Eggs *Outside* of the Laybox...

- Jeez, Eclipsa... We gave you a perfect laybox, and yet you refused to use it, laying your eggs right on top of the heated side. In the aspen *facepalm*. On the plus side, our scaleless ratcorn pair also had eggs! It's another 2-clutch special!

Fun fact- Eclipsa's eggs are hatching right now!! Expect the baby video soon!!
Yay Éclipsa!
@@VictoriaEMeredithyay
YES!!! When will hatching videos be out, not just Eclipsa’s eggs, but the other snake’s eggs that hatched before Eclipsa’s?
Can you reply to my comment on twitch
Good to know that some made it! \o/
I'm just over here "patiently" waiting for all the hatching videos but we're still getting laying videos. LOL
I know every time Emily puts a date expecting hatching. I know most I've seen should have hatched before the 4th of July. Come on y'all show us the babies!!!!!
sameeee
Me too I wanna see baby videos no more egg videos please
I like the egg videos xD @@torigarcia1976
@@rachaelwhelchel8176 same there should be at least 5 clutches hatched
I remember Emily mentioning, I think during the move to the breeding facility video(?) that there was a high chance of slugs this year because of the move to the new building. Similar to when you first moved all the snakes to the zoo and a lot of them slugged out. It might just be the move?
Didnt meant to dislike your comment sorry
Every time I watch Emily write upside down I like to imagine that's just how she always writes, it's always so well done haha!
Haha! I can just imagine her in the bank or something, turning the form around to write upside down and the bank clerk just looking at her like 🧐🤨🤔
I can't draw right side up let upside down..lol
I never fail to be impressed when she writes/draws upside down.
Emily's upside down writing is neater than my right side up writing...
"And I'll heckin do it again!"
-Eclipsa, probably.

@@Mejathemusicdragon... Thank you!
I love how Lumpy has become the go-to Stud™️ (iykyk)🤣
😂😂😂😂
I'm wondering if that's part of the problem... he can't keep up with the # of ladies.
Right? Hahaha
What if it's the temperature inside the building or it's because they were just recently moved to a new facility and they smell something different
I hope his previous owner is proud 😂
I love how half your snakes have beautiful/majestic names like Azura, Charlotte, Eclipsa, and the other half sound like older middle-age smoking waitresses and line cooks at the nearby truckstop diner (eg. Busty Rhonda, Diarrhea Jane, Lumpy). I prefer the truck stop names myself.
Lumpy was the name of the drummer in my dad's band (and briefly my drum teacher), so I love it haha!
I hadn't realized that the specific category for their comedically-named snakes was "truck stop diner", but it absolutely is! 😂
Also, I now have a mighty need to read the slice of life/sit com comic about the snake truck stop.
@@meredithr5904 There's actually a snake truck stop narrative in existence? I'll have to check that out.
@@beyedoc Oops, I didn't word that very well. I meant that I need for the story to exist, *so that* I can read it. But if you find something, let me know!
@meredithr5904 No worries! I clearly am not familiar with the reference so I didn't get the joke! This could be a future art/ merch idea for Snake Discovery featuring Busty Rhonda lol
I have one of Buck and Daisy's babies from last year - The Naked Cowboy, aka Cowboy - and he's doing great! He's going through a rebellious teenage phase right now, but I keep hoping he'll chill out like his dad.
Excellent name.
gonna need 17 more of those
Aww they grow up so fast. I love seeing updates for snakes in the comment section
Before I started watching you guys I was pretty scared of snakes. Now, after a couple years of watching, I actually helped relocate a harmless Milk snake from my neighborhood. That's some crazy progress! I just love watching you guys and the positivity you spread is so contagious! Thank you for being you!
Same 😄 in my case it was “just” a garter snake but 5 years ago I NEVER would have. I actually have a few spots I now go to “visit” 😜- they are so cute 😍😍
I used to be terrified of snakes, too then I started watching this channel and now they fascinate me and I've even found snakes I find pretty
Four years ago, there was a garter snake in our yard. I never saw it but my parents did. I TOOK OFF running into the house. I was terrified of snakes. Now with the help of Snake Discovery, Brian Barczyk and a few others I've been able to not only stay outside on the rare occasion there's a snake in the yard; I've also intervened when one of our community cats have brought snakes as "gifts." They usually bring Dekays, so they're small but 4 years ago I would have run away!!!
Omg same!😂😅
Laying video uploaded on the expected hatch date. You know this was a good breeding year when we're still on egg videos during hatch season
eclipsa: instructions unclear
I love the amount of scales Buck has. He looks bedazzled
Halloween clutch of 13 eggs, and my first thought was "He asked for a 13, but they drew a 31" 😂
Me too!!!! Haha
”Give it to my baby” morphing into “give us the baby vids”!
@@heppahullu Uh-huh! Uh-huh!
Eclipsa is that one weird, eccentric friend who does things different, but we love them anyway because they're adorable.
Azura is the smart one playing the pregnant card three years in a row and getting more tasty meals 😂
I always appreciate that you show the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to snake breeding.
It's also nice to see Buck again, always nice to see the ol' naked fella doing well.
I love when the snakes are wriggling all over their boxes in the background when Emily is talking they're all like "HEY YOU, LADY! HEY LADY, IS IT DINNER TIME?HEY LADY"
Pixie just wanted a cuddle after laying those beautiful eggs and then she got shoved into a log😅
Weren't there a ton of slugs the last time you moved the snakes to a new location
Yeah, I thought so too!
It could also be because there's a lot of first-time breeders this year too.
Yea right?
That's what I was thinking
When they moved from their house to the zoo, there was indeed quite a bit of slugging out. So between first time breeders and the move, this was expected. I think they even mentioned this at the beginning of the breeding season.
I have never been this early. I love Eclipsa and her weird little clutch.
Same. 😂

I got my first hognose two days ago at a reptile expo! Was looking for an albino and ended up with an extreme red albino! He's very feisty too and a really great eater.
Edit: I just realized that my Sollux shares a nickname with Sol! Hoping for some cool babies (and more importantly healthy babies).
Congratulations! I would love to have one like that! 🎉
At least she didnt eat them lol
🤣 lol

Yeah no omnomlette pt 2 (idk if I spelled that right)
.
LOL
I actually really like the sesame seed look that Buck has. Low expression ≠ low quality in my book .
Busty Rhonda. My beloved. She's my favorite of y'alls hognoses.
She’s my favorite too, I know it’s unlikely but I hope to meet her one day or get one of her babies
@@annetheelf8174 Oh, that would be perfect. I would love that. I would love any snake, tbh.
Mine too!
12:00 gives me an idea, let kids decorate the top of your lay boxes/incubator containers for a small donation? If they are still watching, Ariel Josie was probably *thrilled* to see the cover they decorated. Perhaps enough to cover a month of food for an adoption island animal, and the cost of replacing the lids? Could make it a "feature" of shows you attend.
Reptiles are expensive, unfortunately. One donation wouldn’t be reasonable to cover a month of food, plus they breed their own roaches and rats
If they didn't have so many parties, it'd be a cool activity to add to the birthday party activities. Something for the birthday child and their friends to help with by decorating one single egg container as a group project. Or something special for only the birthday child to do before or after the party. 🤔
I don’t even have a snake, but I love snake discovery
Snake feeding tongs - never leave home without 'em
Taking a page out of Umbra, Onomlette, and Mitosis's book, mistreating your eggs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg Eclipsa’s eggs were due yesterday! So exciting so many babies lately
These egg laying videos are making me so excited right now knowing that we have some hatchings going on now! can't wait to see all the hatching videos in the coming weeks!
Thank God I'm not a breeder. I would feel the need to put the different breeds of snake eggs in specific boxes according to the color of the handles. Though it would be convenient to automatically know that hognoses were in the boxes with the purple handles or milk snakes in the boxes with the blue handles and so on.
I’m so happy to see Buck going strong. He‘s such a sweetheart and a silly boy, I can’t wait to see his and Pixie’s babies (and Eclipsa’s as well!).
Okay the way she hugged Buck at the end of the video was so cute 🥺🥰
I’m glad Azura will be staying in the family despite not being a good breeder! She’s always been one of my favorites.
The fact that the hognose eggs are expected to hatch today..
I love how these videos are being posted on their due date!
I scrolled through the comments fairly quickly,,,, but no one seemed to note that the first clutch in this video is due to hatch the day their "lay" video came out. LOL I thought they were going to throw us for a loop and put a sneak peak of a tongue at the end for hatching vids to start hehe.
It's a total bummer that Jeffina II slugged out, but there are still many beautiful babies soon to be hatching!
It’s wild to be seeing the egg videos come out on the day that they’re due to hatch. Super excited to see which eggs make it to their hatch date!!
That happened in another video, too.
So many clutches have already hatched or are due right now & we're still watching egg laying videos 😂
I love that you guys do the egg videos around the time they’re meant to hatch 😂

It is funny having the lay videos come out on the due dates. I would love to see some where you do the lay and hatching all in one
Weren't there a ton of slugs the last time you moved the snakes to a new location?
I was just thinking that! And they did say before that the stress of the moving messed them up that breeding season and probably would this time too (said in a previous video)
Yeah, they had a lot of slugs, and females not producing any eggs at all, when they were first moved to the facility.
well maybe this year they have lots of slug eggs because they moved buildings, remember 3 years ago when they moved to the zoo...many ladies slugged out also that breeding season
Hoggies are so cute especially the babies❤❤
My sister and her family are traveling through Minnesota this week for vacation. We grew up in St Louis Park. Joking I texted her saying that they would be by Snake Discovery and they should go. To my surprise my sister texted back, that they were stopping there the next day. On Wednesday, my sister texted me pictures of my two youngest nieces with Emily and pictures of them standing by Rex. You absolutely made their day!!
Hi, this is the fist video I’ve seen this recently made because I subscribed only a couple days ago, but I’m so happy!
A) I'm here in under 10 minutes 🙌🏻 B) I'm watching for hatch videos lmao I'm excited for baby hogs!!!
Awe! I love Buck and his little bit of scales- they're like snake pasties! 😂
Near-shed Buck definitely looks like he has googly-eyes pasted on. 😂

12:05 is probably one of my favorite moments, especially the distracted "I love you too-"
Busty ronda has had babies, 2 ish years ago i think, but she had only 3 babies and one of them was reaaally tiny and one had at least one kink.
@Emily, please let us see the babies. A lot of the eggs I've seen put into incubation with expected hatch dates that have already past. 😢😢😢 Please pleeeeaaasse can we have some hatching videos.
It was great to see Buck again, since I have one of his babies from last year. She's even more scaleless than her dad, and that orange is so bright! She was super bitey her first few months, but now she's nice :)
I love the fact that unpost these vids the day they are due to hatch😂😂❤
Babies! Babies! BABIES!
Yes, those are babies
@@user-xt6sj8ly3uI know, just excited to see the baby snakes.
Buck is adorable!!
Aww they are due the day this video comes out ❤
I am somewhat not surprised by the amount of slugs you’ve been getting. When you first moved the snakes into your facility/zoo they all slugged out then. I think you even mentioned it yourselves in a different video. So I wouldn’t take it too to heart I’m sure they’re just having an off year.
I didn't know Buck was still around!! He's the first snake I saw from you guys! He's a favorite of mine
I love your hognose snake ring! Its so cute❤❤
Edit: I think its super funny that the day that Eclispa’s eggs are due, the video comes out 😂
Should be hatching today! I wish they weren’t so far behind in their filming/releasing videos. Tough to wait another 6 weeks to see their hatching video.
You guys sure are having an interesting year with the hoggies - SO excited for them to start hatching, there's few things cuter than a baby hognose imo!
On a side note, I'm on the waitlist for the scaleless ratcorns so I've been holding my breath for their clutch since I haven't seen anything posted to patreon about it - so happy to see Buck and Pixie had such a big clutch and CANNOT wait for them to hatch out!!!
Pixie was like mum i demand you give me kisses 😂
Can't wait to see babies 😍
First Minute! (Maybe that snako needs a calcium supplelement?)
Emily...u impress me with each egg laying video. I can read upside down and backwards but u gurl...u can even write and draw upside and backwards...u my dear r very talented. I can't wait to see when the eggs hatch. I'm gonna be honest...I am still nervous around snakes but I love how u both educate us. I especially love how excited u r about all of your babies. Thank u for everything u both do ❤
More hognose eggs!!! Congrats Emily and Ed!!! Eclipsa is also a beautiful name!!! 🌙🌸
Lol, You're never fully dressed without your snake feeding tongs!
After all these years of watching, I’m still impressed with her upside down drawing and writing abilities.
I love how all your chunky snakes decide to pretend or become pregnant and then slug out! 😂
Can't wait till baby season!❤
We are definitely going to be getting a lot or hatching videos within the next month or so. I love Hognose laying eggs, but the hatching is so cool to see what genes they can carry
I love love love, hognose snakes
Hearing Emily say “nipple” made my day, thanks! 😂 also…just want to say I’m a recovering addict with a dark sense of humor (it’s how I cope with trauma I guess🤷🏻♀️😅) and the clip you guys show or have shown of the bearded dragon with the lined up calcium powder and rolled up dollar bill in your online store ad you guys do is HILARIOUS! 😂 so again, thank you! 🙏🏻 your videos help me get through tough days a little better sometimes even if recovery and addiction is not what this channel is about, I love it 🫶🏻
I have 1 thing other than free space on my bingo card now! "Big family: a snake lays more than 15 eggs"
Discovery I’ve been watching you for years and I love to see your progress. I really hope that you get a UA-cam play button soon.
what an adorable laybox, such neat paints/gels/materials used!
When are you going to post the babies that have pipped?? I remember a bunch were due to pip in June!
new snake discovery as i get out of work early?? a good day :)
I think buck's sesame seed scales make him even more handsome than if he didn't have them. They add to his gorgeousness.
At the very end of this video when you were showing the dad that beautiful scaleless snake and then there was one over your right shoulder that was like hey pay attention to me. I’m hungry. It was really funny.
Next time you get a clutch of 13, use baked goods as 13 is a bakers dozen. I know you probably won't see my comment, but maybe one of the patrons will see it and pass on my suggestion. 🙏🏻
I love that the scaleless guy is considered not super special because he was before they bred out the scales BECAUSE I think the morph actually looks BETTER with the sesame scales dotted around rather than full scaleless. Idk maybe it's just me.
Hoping for some lovely babies from that full incubator!
Can you pls do elements for your next cluch, I've been subscribed for a few years and i love your videos!
When did you move in relation to breeding? Remember what happened when you moved to the zoo.
I came to the comments to ask this. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this.
the way these eggs are due today
Hi, I'm currently hyperfixating on Hognoses' morphs and writing a whole paper about it just for fun and the sake of knowledge. Keep up with the good videos, I love your channel and I recommended it to my loved ones
I LOVE BUCK🥰🐍
After the move, I was really surprised y'all got as many clutches as you are. So good job girls! And here's hoping for healthy hatches and even more bbs next year
I have one of Buck's babies! A little boy who is beautiful and is getting big :)
