- Here is my Transition Patrol build! They had a 20% off sale back in April so I went ahead and got it! I bought Aluminum because I just don't care enough about carbon honestly.

Dude I’ve got a Aluminium patrol! You will love it seriously
Yup! I built the exact same bike with a carbon frame, got it at 50% off hehe 😏😏
But its a sick bike! Really playful but can also charge through rocky enduro sections!
Daniel Melilla wair what... how. Where???
I got one too its awesome!
I predict a “I bought too small of a bike” video in the future. It would be understandable if you were a few inches shorter but I absolutely understand why the shop had a hard time selling you that bike...you should absolutely be on a bigger bike...no doubt in my mind.
It’s not Jordan’s bike if he’s bought the wrong part and it still rattled on the first ride. Love it tho
haha :)
Jordan Boostmaster ily Jordan I get to ride Galbraith but not whistler 😄
i like how this guy doesn't get a 10,000 dollar carbon bike with axs and enve wheels. he is a casual man that uses casual bikes.
And he runs a tube in the rear
casual 3-4k bike
That is still a 100000 if you know bikes most of those parts plus taxes would 100% run you over that price, your right tho it’s not like everything is top top of the line but sometimes having a regular bike is better cuz u don’t gotta worry bout ruining your expensive ass parts don’t have to worry about wireless components breaking etc
@@joshward4712 i mean, he rides for a living, so he must make investments
I can see where he’s coming from tho its honestly just all gonna get used any way. I prefer aluminum bikes anyway
This guy building your bike is a pro. 2 secs into the build segment and he's already out with two hammers, one for the headset and another for the crown race. That's exactly how I roll. 😎
As soon as I saw that I was like if it was me I'd have taken my frame and parts and left, how does a shop not have a headset press.
That’s what I was thinking, some of the tools didn’t look quite professional enough for a shop.
Sooo many cringe moments here... channel locks on the brake hose nut..
Not sure at what point a bb spacer ever goes on the NDS of a set of Shimano cranks in a 73mm shell, but here is this guy shoving one on and saying "that feels right." No wonder the cranks looked like they'd barely spin freely. And even without a chain. How about following the straight forward installation instructions instead of "that feels right."
Sweet bike, dude. But I'm afraid the guy assembling it was a bit of a hack.
Headset cups hammered, crown race hammered with a screwdriver, brake hose nut tightened by monkey pliers and cranks not freely spinning. Hehehe. I’m not a Pro mechanic but I sure do know how to use the right tools for the job. Sick bike though, I have the same frame.
Transition: We spec our bikes with short stems so you can run a longer front-center instead, while maintaining a direct feel on our super slack headangles
Jordan: Size S, tons of extra stack and 50mm stem lol
Transition: Am i a joke to you?
You want Enduro bikes to be as short as possible
@@dejaya7945 Are you being serious? Or just joking
@@adamcline121 preferably you would want a dirt jump bike with like a 120mm stem.
Yeah not serious
@@dejaya7945 no?
:) I really can't get behind the crazy long geometry companies are trying to push these days
Jordan, on the subject of running a tube in the rear.
If you haven't, then I strongly recommend you try Cushcore. Do both front and rear for balanced handling. Sidewall support means no more worries (you mention burps and general concerns with tubeless rear).
Snakebite protection is what most people think Cc is about but it's the last benefit for me after:
- improved system damping (Cc introduces a damping effect in tyre (/tire ;) )......
- improved cornering grip (tracking over bumps, think roots) as a result of that damping in the tyre...
- sidewall support keeping the tyre profile stood up and tread pointing dirt-wise under cordering load.
- ability to run lower tyre pressures while not losing air to burps....
It's an entirely new dimension to MTB handling and cornering confidence, in my humble opinion. :)
Need to get them to send you a set. I reckon you could be a great ambassador. ✌
Running a downsized, tubed, aluminum bike. You're like the anti-bike snob and I love it.
Certainly went against the run of play with this one I fully agree. In the end it’s about what suits him and not what bike brands want you to feel. Nice to see.
haha :)
And hes not a dick about wheel size 😂
Should have gone with the M or L. transition SBG geometry really works
Yeeeesss! I love Transition as a company! They’re the best dudes that make rad bikes! Love to see more people on their bikes!
I also picked up my Patrol when they were on sale and ive never looked back its such a great bike and also peddles really well to that big ol 50 tooth on the back is awesome!
Wow. That is sick! good for you. Can't wait to see the machine on the trails.
One of my dream bikes with my dream parts!
Tbh I'm jealous!
Great bike, I’ve ridden the carbon one and it’s amazing!
YESSSSSSSSS!!! I’ve been waiting for this for SOOOOOOO LONG
you don't want to go down again. I just did yesterday for my 2nd time. I didn't hit my head but I hurt/landed on my shoulder good and got cut/dirt rash. I'm still hurting crashing sucks. Glad to see a new video. I enjoy your content!
Great to see you looking fresh on your new ride Jordan. Your health always comes first. New bike looks sick 🤘.
OMG! The colour of the bike looks unreal!
Oh nice dude glad to see you came down to independent cycles in mission Im loving that place so far just bought some gear from there a few days ago!
Beautiful machine, I ride the 2019 carbon one and I love it. Have fun!
Dude that bike is SWEEEEET! Can't wait for more videos of you shredding it!
I have the aluminum patrol as well, such a sick bike! Happy shredding!
This bike is awesome and nice-looking , I'm waiting for future videos in your new bike 👌🏻
Enjoy riding Jordan. Have fun and do what makes you happy. 👍😎
There is a tool for putting crown race on
Just pilgrim it works fine
I saw that and reminded myself why I do my own maintenance
I’ve literally never used one or seen anyone else’s at my shop use one lol
Right!? At least have a bit of wood to keep the metal on metal violence to a minimum!
This aint a dream build video 🙄 rubber mallet works fine
I picked one up second hand this Monday, two days and I can go ride it!! Just test riding it I felt totally comfortable on it as soon as I started riding it.
sick bike! congrats! 🤙
I built up the same bike 2019 Patrol though. I does weigh a bit heavy but. It can still climb, not the fastest but definitely still faster than most in the group and that's with a 165mm crank arm. It's a beast at the bike park.
Sick! Just got my first full squish after searching for months a Rocky Mountain Pipeline! It shreds!
Sick I just my first full squish back in December it’s a thunderbolt( pls sub to me)
Im looking at this bike for my first full squish, I’ve been riding an undersized XC hardtail on hard bike park laps for 4 years and I think the patrol would be a great bike for me.
Nice build! I have seen a lot of talk about fin pads rattling around...which helped me steer clear of them, even if they do benefit with heat slightly.
Congrats on the sick new bike Jordan! My XT brakes rattled like a mofo too. I ended up slightly bending the spring to add a little more tension and I used a super tiny 2mm sliver of mastic tape on the caliper facing side of the pad, right below where the retaining screw hole is. Rattles are vastly reduced. Still there, but much, much better.
I'm 6'3 and I ride a medium TR450, I too ride my frames on the smaller side. Love transition! Some great guys down in Washington 👍🏼
Transitions are awesome, would love to have a Patrol! Threaded BBs!!! Yeah boi
Sick pedals man! I got the same ones in green for my Giant Reign last year. Love em
Sweet bike build. The colors are awesome.
LETS GOOOOOOO!!!!!! Yo I bought a partrol alloy during the sale too things so sick
Ordered one of these just yesterday. Going carbon in TR grey. Cannot wait. 😀
That bike looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥! Awesome video 😆🤘🔥
Ayee I have a new Patrol Alloy GX build and LOVE it! Glad to see someone else riding their stuff. Also I’m 5’11” and went with a medium. 180lbs so I upgraded to a 500lb spring.
Onyx hubs are rad! Never been a fan of the 'swarm of bees' sound while cruising through the woods. Great stuff, man!
if I could afford them I would go with onyx too, but the price is insane.
so good to finally see you back riding! greetings from bavaria
So sick Jordan I'm loving that frame
Your sus is heavy, that's where a lot of weight comes from. Also your tires weigh as much as an enduro bike will usually take. But who cares about weight. Awesome bike! I like how you're sticking with what you know and love from experience rather than what marketing tries to make you believe. Love your videos Jordan, they're just so genuine.
thanks!
Your builds really reflect years of riding and knowing exactly what you want. 👑
Man that bikes looks sick!!!!! Chain adds a cool touch to it!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I got my carbon Patrol 2 months ago, put some hope brakes and a full renthal cockpit on it and i am loving it so far
I wish I came earlier, but I was watching Seths bike hacks stream, when you posted, , my two favourite youtoubers post at almost the same time
So sick. What a great looking Bike.
Really love the color!
Sick nice to see you back
Looks like transition forgot to take off the masking to keep the paint out of the screw holes for the internal routing, if you take those screws back out you can peel off the little stickers they use. It won't change anything functionally since you got the screws in anyway, but just for anyone else wondering what that was all about.
AWESOME build bro!!! I love it!!! 🤙
sick bike love the onyx hubs I run them on my dj bike there super good
This is the bike I am looking at getting, thanks for the “review” and sick video
The patrol is amazing. You’ll love it
I’m 15 and 5”7 and I ride a medium patrol and it fits perfect and sends I think that small might be a bit small but I guess youll see!
“This saddle is pretty good even for sitting on it” super sick build wish i had different kinds of bikes although i am 13 so 🤷🏻.
Edit: the silent hub is kinda sick
I can't believe you went with a small, i really hope it works for you. Im just under 6'0" and an average size medium is very small for me but who knows it might be good for you. Love those wheels bro, I wish I could afford good hubs! Enjoy
Sick bike!🤘👌
Sick bike bud💥❗
Can't wait to watch you shred the trails on it!
Crazy that you are on a small man. I'm 5'11 on a large. The transition is designed to run a super short stem and with the steep ST angle I think you're gonna have a lot of problems climbing due to having to space to pedal.
Yeah man!
I ride a Patrol. I'm hooked on Transition for life.
Not to be one of the negative keyboard warriors, but as a full time bike mechanic I really think you should opt for a different bike shop to assemble your bike next time... The lack of a press to insert the headset cups and no torque wrench, especially on the left crank pinch bolts makes me feel really uneasy. There is also some dodgy tools being used instead of correct spanners and wrenches so just be 100% sure the bike is safe to ride before you shred like normal. Otherwise super cool build love the content
I completely agree. I was cringing at times...
Couldn't agree more, that was some hack shit seeing the mallet come out on the cup/the screw driver for the bearing race. My previous bike mechanic self wasn't hyped.
Might be internal routing rattling as it moved so much if so foam outers for the cables inside the frame great video
He does actually put foam tubes around the cables, in the head tube, watch carefully 👀.....
@@wonderwatch2239 oh I can see that now thanks
I't's def the fins, everyone has problems with those.
@@justind5262 ok thanks that might be why my bike rattles ive tried everything but have looked at the pads they're finned
There is a fine line beetween this bike and a dh bike honestly the suspension is crazy. That silent hub is pretty sick too
Thanks for cluing me in to O ring front suspension adjustment instead of defining by sag. With a Chromag Stylus with a 180mm lyric fork my sag basis is way off. The fork effects geometry enough to warrant the O ring method. I did not know I could do it this way. Thanks.
It’s sooo sick on jumps and it’s indescribable
Good bike build!
I love the color!
you can make your frame lighter by sealing all holes in your frame and fill it with helium
if its not enough you can also fill your tires with that
I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the S frame. I bought the Patrol GX Alloy in Medium (I'm 5'9" w/o shoes and usually prefer a smaller bike)- and i LOVE it. It manuals and flicks just fine while feeling so planted. I was riding a Medium Capra previously and that thing did not want the front wheel to come up even though it was lighter.
What a setup! DIALLED!
Nice bike dude , it’s so weird seeing the BOOSTMASTER just riding flat and not hitting 50 ft gaps 🤣🤣🤣🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿👏👏
I can't support Jordan with patreon yet but I still could support him by liking all his videos, watching it whole and also subscribing!
thanks I appreciate it!
@@JordanBoostmaster keep on the good work! I love your vids!
Man this bike is SICK!
10/10 on looks
#100%freerideude
Yeah I have the same noise on my new Nukeproof! It's the Shimano finned pads
you can use the spring from a pen to put on the brake pin to stop the rattling!
Hey man, I have the same problem. Do you think you could send me a picture on how you did it?
SO
SICK
Great vid. Stay safe.
Props for the new bike, from someone else that likes smaller bikes.
Where matching bike now😲
Yes!
Beautiful bike!
Good on you
Looks sweet
Sick bike!
great to see Jordan on a transition
The rattling is from the pads, its a common issue with finned pads on the 4 piston XT brakes. Surprised on the weight, I knew the aluminum frame offerings from Transition were on the heavy side but didn't think it was over 10 pounds. Sick build regardless!
That bike looks rad 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Epic video dude🔥
The transition patrol 2020 in carbon is the sexyest bike ever.
Much Love from the states Jordan😀😀
Very Nice Enduro Bike Jordan and this Video as well :)
Yooooooo sick!
Really went for the slopeduro bike :) Raaaaad
Sick looking bike! Meaty for Size S mind!
Jordan for the rattling pads put a small bit of velcro tape on the caliper under the pads it will stop the noise.
I have a 2018 aluminium Patrol XO1 build. Great bike! One thing,....wrap the frame in 3M and rubber tape under the chain. The paint chips SUPER easy. Otherwise it's a sick ride bro!!!!
I run those same hubs and i have the same rattle the thing is everything on your bike makes a little noise that that hub just means you can hear it.
