I think Opel has made some huge steps in the right way, the new Insignia and Astra are such step-ups from their old line up, it's amazing to see this great Company getting back into competition and surely will be a contender for my next ride!
Thanks for the awesome Videos Thomas, great as allways 💪
thanks! Opel Grandland X driving shooting tomorrow
Love the design! Opel really have stepped up!
The Opel Product Manager is clearly not a regular viewer of Autogefühl. Big mistake saying how much he loved the smell of Nappa Leather seats :)
yeah he straight went into a trap there =)
I’m a big fan of the new Insignia, and great to see the return of the GSI badge. Styling is just the right amount of sporty. Hate the colour though, looks best I’m Red. I would have liked a larger infotainment screen.
Agreed, red is the best on this car or blue
The car looks really beautiful :)
I request the All new Subaru Impreza that came for the first time in Europe. Need this review Thomas. Thanks.
In the US it's called the 4 series gran coupe
lol
Beautiful car, almost looks like the Kia Stinger.
Nice car
lovely car sales to India coimbatore ,tirupur
the interiors of Opel cars are really uninspiring, Peugeot are a great example in showing how to make a non-luxury brand highly desirable through interior design
Peugeot is not on Vauxhall/Opels level, Vauxhall and Opel are bigger than any car brand in PSA. Vauxhall was the 2nd best selling car brand in the UK but now its 3rd and there is a reason why, nobody buys cars that are unreliable, look at Saab for example
Opel should relaunch the Manta B. With a body in retro design and a modern interior, Germany would have its own pony car and an attractive alternative to the Mustang.
I want to buy Superb 280 PS ... but right now I choose this GSI . I know I know acceleration is better in VAG but ...look at this Insignia . This car is not boring !
This car looks beautiful but the performance will be the biggest problem. 0-100 in 7,5sec for a 260hp vehicle is amazingly insufficient against the competitors.
7,3 seconds for the sedan
There are a lot of videos with 6 sec 0-100
OPC is dead.
Opel has no influence, and what Opel says has no value at all, PSA decides everything.
Opels freedom under GM to decide on their models is over.
Beautiful car, arrives here in Australia as a "Commodore VXR" with a 3.6l V6 motor, although if I were to own one, I'd put the rightful Opel badges on it.
My exact thought too re the badges. The Kia Stinger is all the rage in Aus, but this car is a much more resolved and better-looking design in my eyes.
You betcha Gabriel, can't sneeze in the bloody wrong direction without someone mentioning how the stinger is the saviour of all automobiles, it's still a Kia, much like the new Genesis models, still a Hyundai.
When did Korean cars ever become cool? They imitate, not innovate.
WIlhelm who are they imitating lol
WIlhelm btw have you ever driven one?
Fantastic and very convincing design from Opel especially the Sport Tourer Estate. Like the sporty dash/cabin atmosphere.
You can see this car makers outdated ideas when it comes to leather seats which are sadly viewed as a luxury item rather than the poor and unsustainable choice it is. Also they are still investing millions in the doomed technology of fossil fuelled muscle cars instead of something which looks to the future.
Not that I can afford a new car, but still, I was looking at the configurator for the Touring and noticed that they don't even offer the option for a space saver spare wheel. Any idea why more and more manufacturers decide to this route? I have a E91 320d at the moment and slashed my tire on a curb (tire repair kit would not help in that case) while I was ~140km away from home and some unnecessary problems because the car does not a spare wheel (purchased one after than, but it just eats up too much cargo space in the boot), so for my next car a space saver under the floor is a must after the experience.
Hello Thomas! So...Is this the new Regal GS for the states? For a sedan it's rather attractive!
yeah should be !
Also to be sold in Australia , as the 2018 HOLDEN Commodore, the first fully imported
Holden main Family sedan in 30 years as GM ceases manufacturing in Australia.
Cool review and interview with Volker Strycek too. There's IMO still hope as Commodore VXR should be produced in Rüsselsheim. I hope we will see Country Tourer review too.
The Exhaust pipes are real.
Most people think they are fake as seems, fun that they are wrong.

what a beautiful car! well done Opel
I love the front seats !
My wife has this car in Australia as a Holden Commodore VXR , 3.6 Ltr V6 with 9 speed auto and AWD !
Great car and is actually fun to drive .
I still love my Australian made 2017 VF11 SSV Redline Commodore 6.2ltr V8 !
It's a beast ....... but this new Opel Insignia is a nice car , as long as it has the V6 though !
Have the car bussniess totaly forgotten about the hatchbacks? :P "It's not a real sedan".. "four door coupe"... Words.
These cars have been available for decades. :P Mondeo, Sierra, Vectra, Avensis, Primera, Laguna, 626, Galant - and more! All were available as this excotic "4 door coupé" form just called hatchbak/liftback. Then it wasn't anything special :P Now everyone thinks everything is a sedan - but with a twist? People call the A7 a sedan. Like what? :P If that is a sedan - then what isn't? xD
And yet there is still no autohold function in that car ...
Love this Insignia GSi. And Opel, by the way, have been an Opel driver since 1988... Have the previous Insignia now (facelift 2015 model, 1.6 Turbo with 170 hp) and absolutely love the new one. This GSi will be a bit too expensive for me, so I'd probably go for a Grand Sport in Dynamic trim, 1.5 Turbo with 165 hp. But I would go for this colour, though, brilliant !
By the way, keep up the good work, Thomas !
thanks Christof! Hope you also saw the driving review of the non-gsi with brian: ua-cam.com/video/u4pHhwzg4O0/v-deo.html
Yes, I've seen it, very nice review ! That's about the trim level I would choose (think it was dynamic), except for the colour, of course... You make a good team, wish I had your job ;-)
love to hear that :)
This is the life , I always forget to praise OPEL for its sculpture , decent and sometimes very beautiful cars like Cascade but now i have to said the new Insignia is much less creative than its stylish predecessor, So Sorry about I did sure it helps to make Opel do like others , banal cars
Bad colour choise for a car show.
It looks like glossy primer.
I'm glad they dumped the VXR , and gone back to Gsi I always remember Gsi being the daddy of the range .
It's nice to see it return like the old cavalier Gsi , and Vectra Gsi .
They did it because there was no improvement in power. OPC / VXR are still considered the top of the range in performance.
"OPC is not dead"!! Thank you Thomas for the question about OPC, which I think is the first time Opel communicates that there is a future for the OPC models and hopefully for the Insignia too!
+Spottervinny 👍
New Opel look really solid. Is it possible to charge a mobile phone wireless? I dont like the way you have to open the trunk. Your hands will get dirty and it is a bit of a hassle to push the logo and then open it down at the edge.
Denver542 QI loading is avaliable, but it's located under the armrest 8:36. Power rear hatch is only avaliable for the sports tourer, the wagon.
Wish GM would keep the Buick version closer in design details to this vehicle. Grill and overall design looks better than the Buick
I don't mind the Buick grill. But compared to the Regal GS the Insignia GSi gets a lower suspension, larger wheels, rear brake calipers painted red to match the front, larger spoiler, and paddle shifters.
When this gsi will be on market in Ireland?
I notice the GSI is now showing on the Configurator, does that mean we will see a test drive soon?
yes indeed, event already scheduled :)
"OPC is not dead". Hm, ok, good.
This is one Opel / Vauxhall that I really like. The car looks great on the exterior. And I love that unique grey colour.
The leather bit was unfortunate but pretty soon even the biggest leather traditionalists will be converted. I notice in this country car reviewers often say "fake leather" rather than leatherette which gives a negative impression and doesn't help things. I don't know how bad the leather = luxury myth is in other countries though.
good point
Wat is this colour called
I am using opel astra model 1999
whic car editor squishes people give us name and we will find him :D

Very very nice....
also check out the driving review: ua-cam.com/video/sY6AN3MXCos/v-deo.html
Does it fall apart after 12 months like other GM products?
The rear spoiler is too prominent, thus distasteful.
The rear spoiler is the best and looks awesome.
Just like this, shall an Opel look
This is not a coward... VW.
Well, in the US it's sold with the turbocharged V6. They don't endure politically correct talibans like in the EU anymore. I love pastel grey but it has become so mainstream nowadays they have killed the charm in a way.
Zenith Red non turbo v6 un usa.
Nice looking Volvo
