Lake Wakatipu Hike To Queenstown (New Zealand's Outdoor Capital?)

This video is about Queenstown and its surroundings, but let's not skip the flight there, because landing at Queenstown Airport is probably the most beautiful flight I ever had the chance to experience.
Let's get an accomodation at the shores of the Lake Wakatipu in Frankton and embark on a hike along the lake into Queenstown and more than anywhere else here comes the rule that the road is the destination: The landscape here is most like the most beautiful thing I have seen on New Zealand so far and I just cannot get enought of it.
And somehow I got mixed among the runners of the Queenstown Marathon, which is always fun.
The city itself also has some cool stuff in it - the Queenstown Gondola, the 110 years old steamboat SS Earnslow, the Queenstown Gardens, the Queenstown mall and a lot more.

You make an excellent point about the cities in NZ. New Zealand is still a young nation, most of the country was developed without much planning or concern about aesthetics.
A lot of the buildings are bland and unremarkable. However, as time goes on there have been improvements. Hopefully, one day, the man-made aspects of the country will better complement the natural beauty of the place.
