This video is for first time buyers who are not yet sure what to choose. New or used. It includes information about fees when buying new and used, insurances, warranty and chattel mortgage.

Fact is that even new cars have issues. Some used cars out there specially toyotas and hondas can give you hundreds of thousands of kilometers as long as you know how to pick and TAKE CARE of them.

this is a good advise only for the rest of us - buyers who dont have the money to buy a brand new car. else, if you have the money to spare then buy a brand new car.
ako boss ryan bumili ako ng second hand mag 15 years na pero smooth pa din, yun nga gaya ng sinabi mo nagkakaroon talaga ng sira kapag tumatagal, pero kapag ang nabili mong kotse ay low maintenance gaya ng nabili ko na kotse di mo gaano mararamdaman ang gastos kasi mura lang ang spare parts at saka kapag nasira kahit saang auto repair shop pwede at cheaper din. Payo ko na lang kapag bibili kayo ng secondhand magdala kayo ng mapagkakatiwalaan ninyo na mekaniko na mag approve Kung maayos pa. ang bibilhin ninyo na second hand.

Sir, u have to get the used car history before final buy. That’s number one service advise to a public consumers.
Well.... thats if the seller will tell you the real history... which is not always the case.... for me the best advice when buying a used car is bring your best most trusted mechanic to look at the car for you before you buy....

Na try ko na ng pareho nka tatlong beses na akong bumili ng 2nd hand car bgla nlang my lumilitaw n problem khit maalaga k, tama ka d k sure pano ginamit ung car so I decided na bumili ng bago last 2013 p inalagaan ko pms, nsa 125k kms n tinakbo dahil lagi long distance good news ung mga normal lng n dpat palitan parts gya ng spark plugs timing belt ang npalitan. Ang disadvantage lng ung resell value 40 to 50% n ang mwawala lalo n ngayon mdali lng mg avail ng new car my zero down payment p n promo. So both my advantage at disadvantage.

Pag bumili kasi tayo ng sasakyan, huwag dapat yung value ang tinitignan kundi yung purpose nito kung bakit tayo kailangan bumili ng sasakyan. 😊
Hindi po lahat ng bagay binibili dahil sa purpose, may mga bagay na pinapangarap ng isang tao kaya binibili.

Mas magandang bumili ng used sa kakilala if possible kasi alam mo ang personality nya. Pag ang tao ay conservative or yung mga may edad na ay ang tendency ay maingat ito sa sasakyan. Pag agresibo at malakas ang personality ay pabarog ito gumamit. Not all but majority.

Ok lang bumili ng second hand basta may kilala ka na magaling na mekaniko na hindi k tatagain sa presyo. Bili kayo ng 2014 pababa kasi hindi pa masyadong computerized ang mga sasakyan at madaling maayos sa tabi tabi
ung 2014, instead of going for a new Montero/Fortuner, invested the money for my kid's future. And took a portion of it and bought a used Toyota Revo 2003 model, priorities over needs over wants, pero 5 years na wala pang problema or tirik. gas and go to any point of Luzon.. PMS=3K petot! Consider also brand reliability. For sure madaming kasabayan nabili ko, many older cars may be still in the road and yung iba baka junk na. so No. 11, Brand reputation. Choose a car that would fit your daily needs, not to impress yung kapitbahay mo or bought a new or used car just to belong ...even if you can afford one.
pS. got a 1998 mitsu gsr few years back and still at pristine condition :)

I bought an Adventure Diesel 2nd hand for 200k and it was a total bargain, Bought an Everest for 290k and it was still a total bargain too, Maintenance is cheap and is easy to maintain maka DIY ka lang. My vote goes to 2nd hand, what I can say is Swerte Swerte lang talaga haha. Subbed!0

Now I realized its always a case to case basis.. but for an average/typical Pinoy, its always better to buy used car bastat hindi pa bugbog sa gamit, within 5-3 years old lang. So, ang binili ko used car toyota vios 2019, odo-26k plus, bagong bago pa ang interior and exterior, so satisfied!

I'll go for 2nd hand coz my brother in law last Nov 2016 acquiared 2nd hand hyundai tucson model 2013 m/t (through ewb) the spot price of the unit is 505k.
At wala naman sya 505k sa bank ang ginawa nya ay nagbid sya the bid price is 520k Thanks God panalo sa bidding at binawas na lang sa bid price ang nadepost nya bidding fee na 10k & he required 30% of 510k for the downpayment at ang monthly payment 13,600 for 3yrs, next year of march fully paid na ang maganda pa nito ang mileage ay 5,225 at 2yrs lang nagamit ng 1st lady owner ang unit at 8months nasa ewb. the unit released in 1month.
Ang advantage ng 2nd hand:
1. kahit magasgas ay hindi masakit sa kalooban
2. clean papers
3. not hot cars
4. not involved in crime or accident
5. beginner ang brother in law ko kaya dapat lang 2nd hand
Ang disadvantage naman:
"as is where is" the unit possible w/ scratch & dents
*Ayaw korin ng 2nd hand pag more than 7k mileage at madami ng scratch or dents.
*I suggest if mag 2nd hand ay sa bank na mag acquiare.

research lang talaga, like for example, camry, civic, and corolla with specific year model like 2012 and 2016 umabut sila ng 500k miles ... pero may mga year model like 2017 - 2020 na hindi pa imabut ng 100k miles pero no recall na kasi na susunog na ng oil sa engine

Sa atin subrang mahal pa din ng second hand ang tataas pa ng mileage,dito sa europe kapag 2 to 3 years old mo na nagamit halos kalahati na lang ang presyo at ang mileage medyo mababa pa din..

Sa ngayon kasi mas 'affordable' na bumili ng brand new dahil sa mga "all-in" promo. Kaya if ever bibili ako ng 2nd hand, sa kakilala o kamaganak ko nalang talaga.

Learn to become a mechanic first.. it will cost only more or less 10k... there are a lot of mechanic schools out there.. this will guide you buying a used car...

One good example,,, Toyota Vios E m/t brand new price is 831k... In the classified ads, you will see the same model less than 1 year old with less than 10,000km mileage selling around 525k to 575k... A cousin already bought one for 540k with only 7,000km mileage and it really looks and performs like brand new... Imagine nagamit lng ng 7,000km nakatipid ka na ng almost 300k pesos!!! Brand new cars depreciate in value very fast specially in its first year... The tecnique is to let the first owner shoulder the depreciation then grab it...
becareful with low mileage cars,some are tampered,maganda yan sa mga hatak ng bangko as is where is kc at tama un 7,000kms e mababa yan kaya mura n talaga un nabili nya.

Mas sulit ang 2nd hand pero malas mo pag inabutan ka ng major na sira ng kotse. Usually lumalabas ang major na sira between 5-10yrs ng kotse. Lalo na kung ang sira ay sa makina mismo.

Cinderella Piccio Haha! Depende sa pagka second hand. Kung ibig mong sabihin ay yung 2nd hand ng bangko mga na remata at d nabayaran. Ok yan ksi karamihan sa pre-owned cars wala pang ilang taon kaya fresh pa ang makina at body paint. Pero kung 2nd hand na 5 to 10 years ang edad ng car sakit na sa ulo yan at lumang look na rin. Kase sa ganyan kaluma na model marami na facelift model na lalabas sa 5y or 10 years na sasakyang bibilhin mo. Mas the best pa rin pre owned updated pa ang looks ng sasakyan at d laspag 😊👍🏼

And btw, I own an Explorer 2005 model, I care not about more than 10yrs older. Cause I bought it cheap. Kahit benta ko p ng may little mark-up will give me profit. And btw, In great condition pa sya. We're using it for 3yrs now.

Totoo to. Pag bumili ka brand new, nakacontribute ka pa sa traffic lalo na kung everyday gamitin sa Manila.
At yung mga mahilig magsabi dyan na solusyon sa traffic ay iphase out na mga lumang sasakyan, wala kayong pag-asa.

Yung binile nmin Toyota Hi Ace Grandia 3.0 diesel 2004 model 2 years na sa amin hnggng ngayon ok pa nmn ang performance nya at marami ng lugar na napuntahan sa Baguio, Quezon, Batangas, Bataan bale wala ang mga akyatan puno pa ng sakay. Basta alaga lng sa makina at ung ibng parts lagi lng nyo lng check up. Pero kung may budget nmn kau sa bago na kau para sure tlaga.

Of course sa bago wala ka problema may warranty pa..problema mo sa bago presyo...second hand may risk talaga but kung makakuha ng hindi gasgas sa gamit at well maintain ng owner ay naku tsamba ka at para ka na rin nakabili ng brand new na mura....

I have both 2nd hand and one brandnew car which I bought a year ago. My 2ndhand van model 1999 is still in good condition which I bought 10 years ago.
As for my one year old car, I opt out of the casa PMS because there is no Casa near my location. The nearest Casa is in Pampanga which is far from my place. Upon assessing all the positives/negatives and since my car is brand new, I think within the next 2 years the condition of the car is still in tip top condition.
I think the brand new one will definately be ok till 5 years or more depending on how you use it and take care of it. But according to you history sir... if you can maintain a 2nd hand car for 10yrs im pretty sure the brand new one will last longer :)

I agree with everything said in the video BUT the advise of getting a used car which is 3 years old for cold hard cash is actually quite expensive. 3 year old cars are usually 500k up unless your talking about ultra budget cars in which case they are about 350k. Even 350k is pretty heavy for most people when brand new cars can be loaned with a downpayment of way less than that plus a monthly payment at a reasonable rate. What I'm saying is it's not easy to say a new car is strictly more expensive than getting used, especially if your talking about 2-3 year old cars. It may be more expensive in the long run but if your starting at 0 pesos and earn X amount, how long will it take to save up P500k vs just loaning a new car from a bank especially for someone who is tight on a budget?

mas prefer ko yung 2nd hand na 5 years and below..bakit? kung magaling ka maghanap and magnegotiate makukuha mo top the line model..and kapag bibili ka ng 2nd hand magsama ka ng trusted mong mekaniko and ask the owner to test drive ito mga atleast 5 KM lalo na highway driving and patakbuhin mo mga 40 to 60 KM/ph dun mo kasi malalaman kung good or bad ang performance ng sasakyan..well this is only my personal opinion thanks

Galit tagala ako sa mga brand new especially loan. Kahit tatay ko papatayin ko siya kung bumili siya ng brand new car. Pilipino kasi eh pasikat lang kahit kulang na sa sweldo.

Dr. Wag masyadong magalit sa brandnew (mapa cash or loaned pa yan). It's their choice. It doesn't mean "PASIKAT" lang agad if brandnew. Its just about peace of mind lng tlg kapag brandnew sasakyan mo (di ba mas masarap isipin na ikaw naka virgin sa asawa mo? and your proud of it na ikaw lng tlg mismo ang unang nakagamit sa kanya at wala nang iba :: kaya chilax lang...) Di ka nmn bibili ng brandnew if hnd mo afford (cash). then about naman sa loan, most bank's assessed the applicant's if kaya nilang bayaran ung car loan, oo, sometimes shit's happens esp kapag nawalan ng trabaho kaya wala nang pambayad :) Anyway, di mo sariling naman bulsa ang masasaktan if bumili ang isang tao ng brandnew (cash/loaned). Buy a new car If you know nothing about car but you know how to drive.
*Note:
New cars are highly computerized items so do not dare to touch them while your warrantly is still in effect otherwise you will lose it! Only casa can fix it because they are the only ones who have the computer OS. In other countries, the computer OS should be copied to the buyer no more no less like a desktop computer OS. Philippines car dealers cannot do that.
Second hand cars prior to 1996 backwards have less computers. With that, repairs can be manageable by average car mechanics along the way.
