I remember meeting John before he went into Crue. I was homeless and living in my car, and he was my pen pal for a bit. After he got into Crue, he sent me one last postcard that basically said he landed a big gig and may not be able to talk to me for a while. I have much love for this man!

I totally agree. I was blown away by it when it came out, and it's still on my top ten list. They did a really great job on this album. Then they took Vince back and made the worst album ever. So now the same band has albums both on my shitlist, and on my top ten list.

Having Corabi play rhythm guitar really allowed Mick to shine. With Vince he has to balance playing lead and keeping the riff going. With Corabi he could shift all of his focus to playing lead because Corabi kept the foundation of the song going with his rhythm playing. The Corabi era was definitely Mick at his best.

Steel Dragon - Couldn't have said it better myself. Well done. Corabi is a very talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He rounded out Motley's sound and allowed Mick to really shine on top of his rhythm playing. I think the band would have been better off from a musical standpoint if they continued with Corabi. The album and concert sales wouldn't have been as good but the albums definitely would have been better than what we got when Vince came back. Generation Swine, New Tattoo, and Saints of LA are the worst albums of their career no doubt.

@@steeldragon9701 perfectly said bro, that 94 record was a BANGER for sure!!as a motley fan from SATD at 12 yrs old that 94 album imo is their BEST work and yea i love SATD,TFFL,DF,and GGG and TOP both had their crue moments but i never realized just how good mick mars was until that album and i knew tommy lee was real good but damn did he drum his ass off on that one and even nikki showcased his best work on the bass bye far, just an amazing album 12 tracks deep and not 1 filler and hell even a couple of the later released tracks were damn good!!i think its really hard for crue fans to admit it,but the level that they played at with corabi isnt even comparable as it is with vince neil and im not saying that vince just sucked, cuz on those early crue records it is his voice and stage presence that made people first take notice of the band, and he did get better vocally as the yrs went on and i think people kind of forget that the last real single that they put out with vince back then was PRIMAL SCREAM and that was on the heavier side,so i do think they were heading in that direction before the break up,but yea the only thing that they did wrong was keeping the name motley crue they should have gone with sixx A.M!!

John really made out like a bandit if you think about it. He got to add Motley Crue to his resume, helped them put out one of their best albums, and now that they don't play these songs anymore without him and have all but disowned them, he is left with an album's worth of songs to play when he tours himself which still sound great. Added alot of time to his career which sadly could have been over after a couple MTV videos with the Scream had he not joined the Crue. Awesome guy.

Motley at their creative peak. As much as I love all eras of the band, the '94 album is the only one I don't skip a track when I listen to it. No it's not classic Crue but it's a perfect balance between the 80s and 90s that that other bands of that time just couldn't hit. And wow, when Corabi put out the Live'94 record a couple years ago, holy fuck that's what a live record is. If you haven't got it or heard it...go do that. Right now.

Totally agree I think they should had record another record with john because he was very talented and he had a really good voice. I think the reason why the motley crue albulm with corabi didn't work it's because it was the end of the golden era of glam and heavy metal and the beginning of grunge/ rap so the people didn't care a lot about the albulm... Fire corabi was a big mistake

@@metalgamerk9549 Wait...so you think an album where they can barely scrape together 8 songs is their best effort ever? So in your opinion compositions like Bad Boy Boogie, Sumthin for Nuthin and Five Years Dead (which has the EXACT same chorus melody as Girls, Girls, Girls-- a song on the same album no less, how lazy is that??) are far superior to recordings such as Too Young to Fall in Love, Home Sweet Home or Kickstart my Heart? Let's be objective here. This album is not as iconic as Shout at the Devil, as beloved as Too Fast for Love, or even as consistent as Theater of Pain. In truth, GGG is in reality 2 amazing songs; a couple of decent tracks and the rest are utterly forgettable.
If you still stand by your opinion ask yourself this: what one album would you recommend to a new listener to expose them to Motley Crue? If it's not Girls, Girls, Girls, it's not their best effort.

2 good songs and the rest mediocre. Yes that does not make the whole album great. BUT there just isn't any other album they made in which ALL songs are excellent. In fact almost no band has accomplished this. There is always a song or 2 that aren't up to snuff.

I do wish John had gotten to do at least 2 more records with Crüe. Enough to cover the 90’s as a decade. One issue I notice is it seems a lot of the fans of the 94 record seem to be people who aren’t exactly the biggest Crüe fans in general. So as cool as it was that they did this bold change in sound, it did seem to alienate many of their older diehards.

    Life Long Cruehead here.
    1) the 94 Album stands alone as Mötleys strongest musically recorded.
    2) They should have changed the name of the band when John was in it.
    3) I'm disappointed how they portrayed John in The Dirt movie, and I'm sure he is also.
With that being said, we still love you John.
    You still rock !
    Thanks for the great music.

Motley Crue .....the one and only band I love. Had the pleasure to meet John when my sister-in-law (step) dates him and brought him to Albany, Ga. awesome guy to be around, very considerate as an individual, kickass voice (played “Maggie” acoustic in the living room)...AMAZING!!!!! Anywhooooo....glad I was able to meet him, how cool was that? Can’t make this stuff up. Claudia

Vince Neil claimed in his book that he found out years after he was fired, that Motley was already rehearsing with Corabi before he was fired from the band. Most people talk about how good that record sounds, and I agree. It should, it cost $3M to produce- which would be $7M today, and it took 2 years!

Arguably one factor Corabi brought to Crue in his short time was his ability to play guitar. I have read/seen Mick commenting on this issue, and Mick has stated that it 'freed me up a bit' insofar as the dual guitars complimented each other. 'Smoke' is a killer track. But in the end as even 'The Dirt' makes reference the fans were never going to buy another lead singer other than Vince. That may piss a lot of Vince haters off but shit like Roth is what it is. Corabi for mine is an extremely talented musician.

This dude is so humble , grateful and chilled . His stint in Motley crue gave the band a massive shot in the arm. Corabi has more talent in his big toe than Neil will or ever had . Shame they went for the pay check as opposed to the new , more credible and soooo much better second version of themselves .

I wish everyone would take time to listen to the 94 album with Corabi today...and forget that it's "NOT" Mötley Crûe because it's not Vince...Put the album on today and REALIZE it's a KILLER album and still today it beats anything out there today 🤘🤘🤘

I love the crue & all of the stuff they did before & after..
But the corabi album was their best moment musically.. It was just something else, Something more than their usual "in your face" sound & attitude which yeah, It's what they're known for.
I agree with those who suggest they should've called it something else
