+SillyGooseProduction I know I'm replying to an old comment but that gave me a hilarious mental image of Dehaka standing at a podium in a lecture hall and wearing a suit. I would take that class.
Dehaka may speak weird and look weird but he is wiser than most other characters, he understand than everything changes and you must adapt if you want to survive, that is the philosophy of the life
+Zerg Abstracto If everybody would only think for themselves, no societies would exist. He might know what you need to do to survive alone, but he's way too selfish and tunnel-visioned. If he would be REALLY good at adapting to the circumstances, he already would have conquered some of the planet he lives on, or at least started working with others as a team. If I may use "his own words" against him: "Collect companions and live. Stay alone and die."
yes, but for what purpose do they need to be in unison? can you honestly say that a disciplined ,ordered existence is better than a primal individualistic one? why would a soldier care about what a king wants? and what higher value can a disciplined army bring or achieve? Victory? glory? hollow concepts removed from reality. a primal is free much more than an overmind zerg, just look at any modern city on earth, you will see why . they become toxic, empty of substance and suffocating after a decade or two, it's the same concept, government decides how homes should be made, how shopping malls are, and how streets are layed out, it's the overmind of humanity, such "force", premise is that all people are the same, all are cogs on the wheel. Which is why tribalism is better than modernity. and primitivism is better than both. Now look at a forest or a jungle, trees grow where seeds fall, chaotic and alive, smaller animals live in trees, larger animals live under the stars or in caves, sure life is bloody, but it's also kind, small animals are hunted, but they usually pass their genes also, and the smartest among the small animals tend to live longer than one season and pass their genes even more, making it's gene the most wide spread, then grows exponentially. the natural order is superior to man made orders with it's flaws and restrictions, if man made order is doing something it's hindering evolution. which is also why the primal queen of blades, is much stronger than the old queen of blades, she has free will. and why she made zagara her second in command, because zagara expressed individuality.
Dhaka is like an open book. You know exactly what motivates him and why and where his allegiances lie. He'd literally stab you in the back for any reason if it can give him an advantage and he's totally upfront about that.
+xShadowsaur Now that he is added to Heroes of the Storm, he starts out with a few missing limbs, but grows them back once he levels up, quiet possibly we see a new look for him in Starcraft as well
He thinks like Leto from Dune, "A person needs new experiences. They jar something deep inside, allowing you to grow. Without them, it sleeps- seldom to awaken. The sleeper must awaken. ” Just replace experience with essence
+Joao Cunha The newest teaser is very convincing. facebook.com/heroesofthestorm.eu/photos/a.689383407826684.1073741830.496199280478432/946438728787816/?type=3&theater
If you go to Char after the Zerus events, in the final cinematic - when Warfield dies - Dehaka will came, took Warfield's essence and have a gun for a right arm ;)
Heart of the Swarm is my favourite in terms of SC2 campaigns. I find these monsters much more interesting then either Terrans with their pathetic pursuits of "freedom" or Protoss' idealistic and honorable traits. Raw, natural, complete and pure, them zerg.
That's why the primal zerg leaders fell. Certainly you can evolve to have the most effective means to kill, but there are multiple paths to take. You can evolve the speed to outrun hunters, or the means to hide. I find it odd that Dehaka can have such an understanding about the link between evolution and survival, yet see the terrans using tools as a weakness. Naturally terran bodies are weak, but what does it matter if you develop the means to use the sources around you?
well Dehaka has not been away from Zerus for long. this is probably its first time seeing buildings, machines etc. I'm sure that given time it will come to understand and appreciate those things :)
You forgot quite a bit of dialogue here. In deep space, there is a fight between Dehaka and Zagara over obedience (side note, I really wanted to have them fight). You also missed Dehaka's lines on Char, and I'm pretty sure he gets lines on Kaldr (ice world) as well.
@Josh but humans have it. And it's psionic potential that can be on a level of "Power! Unlimited power!!!" as we can see on example of Carrygun. Oh, Kerrigan.
The fact is: he hasn't evolved just to be a killer, but to be a wise leader for his pack. What makes him special is that he builds alliances, while others fight. Therefore, he'd need to speak more than others but, surprisingly, he's the weirdest language on the planet.
In truth, humanity is the true Zerg! We adapt, change, build, flow, discard, rebuild. From branch-swinging small groups of ape precursors to a global hive! The world is ours. Now the universe must follow.
Even though Dehaka's way of speech is quite baren he is by no means stupid, i think that is his greatest strength, people underestimating him and then getting outsmarted and... Collected.
I would love to see him do this live at a Convention, unless they process the voice with effects, I also wanna hear him do Abathur unless they change that a bit too, but I feel like he can kind of do it without effects
Abathur definitely has effects. I think it's a pitch down, echo, and good old fashioned Zerg flanger. Dehaka on the other hand I'm fairly sure doesn't have effects, that's just Steve doing a crazy voice
his voice is awesome if that what your mad about and if it is how do you expect him to talk Morgan freeman? its a alien that has been living in a kill or be killed world and is a mixture of different critters put into one he will collect your essence
theres not ALL speechs of Dehaka, you must invade zerus before Char or the Kaldir where he says the essence of protoss is strong, and he want to collect, but is warned that he can't.
+Karren Kuddlesberg Neither are insects. The way I understand the primals evolve in a diffeerent way, they survive by devouring and adapting on the spot, the swarm evolves with new species and or some kind of evolution pods, a primal just grows a hand immediately :D Primals are free for all, the Swarm is team
+Karren Kuddlesberg i would say that, tthe swarm being used as a weapon, they needed a know estructure, a hive mind like most insects, the avilitie to create replicants and endure the army in numbers the primal zergs in other hand, they evolve itselves, they change in base to what they face, alwaays mutating and evolving, if they need to be faster, they eat a fast animal and absorve theyr esence instead of having a hive mind, and insect-like structures, order and disipline, prialzergs are the product of adapting and random natural evolving
+Barry Allen He will not want it why: Abathur is not just giving... he also taking if he find someting "needles" in him he will want to take it away Wich thing dehaka may hate
I guess with his constant evolving he is constantly changing his DNA which means he is never the same being. Each time he evolves he re-arranges his DNA thus effectively becoming immortal. As per his words, "stay still and die."
Kriegerdammerung If you go Char first, and then jump straight to Zerus, you'll have Dehaka with you to Kaldir. He will make at least one conversation about the protoss, and the difficulty of collecting essence from them. I don't remember much more. If you go to Kaldir first, then straight to Zerus, you'll have Dehaka with you to Char when you fight the Dominion. I think there was two conversations (could be one), where in one of them he commented how he would evovle claws and bodyparts to smash through their walls and defences, as response to Kerrigan's warnings in not to underrestimate the terrans. If you make a video titled "Dehaka's speeches", which implies all of them, you ought to at least get that right.
I wanna listen to Dehaka give a lecture on economics.
"DEMAND rises. Prices go UP. Supply INCREASES.... prices shall fall."
no joke, that would be the most truthfull lecture I've heard on the subject hehe
+SillyGooseProduction I know I'm replying to an old comment but that gave me a hilarious mental image of Dehaka standing at a podium in a lecture hall and wearing a suit.
I would take that class.
"I do not need a suit, I will evolve coat."
"I do not need a chalkboard, I shall become the chalkboard and evolve chalk"
Dehaka may speak weird and look weird but he is wiser than most other characters, he understand than everything changes and you must adapt if you want to survive, that is the philosophy of the life
+Cr0uch1ng71g3r But at least he knows what the vision is, unlike zagara.
+Zerg Abstracto If everybody would only think for themselves, no societies would exist. He might know what you need to do to survive alone, but he's way too selfish and tunnel-visioned. If I may use "his own words" against him: "Collect companions and live. Stay alone and die."
Just like what Kha'Zix said 'change is good'..
yes, but for what purpose do they need to be in unison? can you honestly say that a disciplined ,ordered existence is better than a primal individualistic one?
why would a soldier care about what a king wants?
and what higher value can a disciplined army bring or achieve?

Zerg Abstracto it is because he's not biased and focused on improving himself, yea he is fucking wise
"They are a rock, a tree, a hill. They will stand against the wind.
I am a river. I will flow."
Dhaka is like an open book. You know exactly what motivates him and why and where his allegiances lie. He'd literally stab you in the back for any reason if it can give him an advantage and he's totally upfront about that.
And it actually makes sense for him to do this, because it ENSURES kerrigan will bring him essense (at least while she still needs his help)
I hope the next time we see Dehaka his appearance will change because he has evolved from collecting so much essence since leaving Zerus.
spasjt He needs his arm back and in full
xShadowsaur Agreed.
+xShadowsaur Now that he is added to Heroes of the Storm, he starts out with a few missing limbs, but grows them back once he levels up, quiet possibly we see a new look for him in Starcraft as well
wait so if he eats his arm, it will grow back ?
and why is it still bleeding profusely ?
+Azure you are right, see the new dehaka in cooperation
Dehaka life adviser since 2013
1:32 "I do not need a wall"
Dehaka is most certainly not a Trump supported lol
Nice
Which is why he is now my main in HotS
This united states you talk of, does it have essence?
where do I vote?
He thinks like Leto from Dune, "A person needs new experiences. They jar something deep inside, allowing you to grow. Without them, it sleeps- seldom to awaken. The sleeper must awaken. ” Just replace experience with essence
just watching this cause Dehaka will prob be released in Heroes of the Storm next !

+Fel Master Here is J... Dehaka :D www.rgj.com/story/life/2016/03/16/technobubble-dehaka-abilities-tips-concept-art-heroes-of-the-storm/81848454/
+Fel Master its already confirmed
Justin Kou I am aware. I learnt earlier today. He looks awesome.
Ask and you shall receive lol
This one need to be in Hots
Guntis Kardels true
Guntis Kardels Yeah, Starcraft could use a warrior.
Guntis Kardels it would be so orgasmic.
Guntis Kardels datamined confirmed
***** was totally thinking this
If you go to Char after the Zerus events, in the final cinematic - when Warfield dies - Dehaka will came, took Warfield's essence and have a gun for a right arm ;)
Really?
Why make that up?
@@1mrsheep For the sake of the fucking banter, mate xd
Steven Blum sounds like he's channeling Daleks to do Dehaka.
I like it.
Yeah the over annunciation of words really does have Dalek vibes and especially the lack of contractions
Heart of the Swarm is my favourite in terms of SC2 campaigns. I find these monsters much more interesting then either Terrans with their pathetic pursuits of "freedom" or Protoss' idealistic and honorable traits. Raw, natural, complete and pure, them zerg.
Dehaka Bruce Lee of the Zerg be like water
That's why the primal zerg leaders fell. Certainly you can evolve to have the most effective means to kill, but there are multiple paths to take. You can evolve the speed to outrun hunters, or the means to hide.
I find it odd that Dehaka can have such an understanding about the link between evolution and survival, yet see the terrans using tools as a weakness. Naturally terran bodies are weak, but what does it matter if you develop the means to use the sources around you?
i think Dehaka is like Kah'Zix.
CHANNNGE IS GOOOOOD
well Dehaka has not been away from Zerus for long.
this is probably its first time seeing buildings, machines etc.
I'm sure that given time it will come to understand and appreciate those things :)
silly grandpa Dehaka, not appreciating today's technology
I love Dehaka. He is too wise. He could be a philosopher ir sth.
listening to this you would have never guessed that it's the same voice actor for Spike Spiegel
"POWER is a TRAP" What a fucking legend. ''Lets' collect their (human) essence". LOL a zerg wanting HUMAN essence. What a fucking legend.
@Josh actually you're wrong. Psionic potential.
@Josh but humans have it. And it's psionic potential that can be on a level of "Power! Unlimited power!!!" as we can see on example of Carrygun. Oh, Kerrigan.
2:37
One of the greastest speeches I ever heard in my life.
Just watched this because Dehaka is next in hots!! :D
yeah :D
Dehaka's voice reminds me a lot about Zasz voice
His precious essence has not helped him to develop oratorical skills.
He... does... not... evolve... in... speech. He... does... not... need... it.
Why does he need to talk well when he can slaughter his enemies?
The fact is: he hasn't evolved just to be a killer, but to be a wise leader for his pack. What makes him special is that he builds alliances, while others fight. Therefore, he'd need to speak more than others but, surprisingly, he's the weirdest language on the planet.
Metalcorn999
yeah his brain evolved as well his claws
But you listen. You pay careful attention to each word...he...carefully...pronounces.
Dehaka at 0.5 speed is a sight for sore ears.
Dehaka is like the Soul Collector from Samurai Jack. Always talking about essence.
Dehaka have beard and English accent! but even with all that magnificent stuff, he is second to Abathur xD
In truth, humanity is the true Zerg! We adapt, change, build, flow, discard, rebuild. From branch-swinging small groups of ape precursors to a global hive!
The world is ours. Now the universe must follow.
Essence is Change, Evolution is the Key, Change is Survival, Collect more Essence....
Dehaka is such a good poet.
Meets space Yoshi.
What's funny is that abathur and dehaka both speak in simple words instead of sentences just like a toddler :)
Design-wise Dehaka looks kind of like some of the Kaiju in Pacific Rim XD
Essence drives Dehaka to fight, so if all essence is in peril, he is even willing to fight Amon...
What would Dehaka evolve to prevent a full orbital nuclear bombardment of Zerus by the Terran Dominion?
+Pat on UA-cam Anti Nuke Spit and pinpoint accuracy
unkownfire25 So he's kind of like the Adam West Batman of StarCraft?
Pat on UA-cam His utility belt is adapting
unkownfire25 Anti-Psi Emitter Zerg Spray
He will use the nuclear bacterias to his advantage, just like the toxic hydralisk
His voice is used for someone in Dota 2 i believe.
+Myojeff his voice actor is Steve Blum and he has done a literal shit-ton of voice acting in games, anime and cartoon.
Isnt that awesome =D ?
Dehaka is philosoper
Dehaka must have been in many fights. Look how damaged he is.
Reminds me of that scene from Dr. Strangelove.
Dehaka has a beard
no one:
litterally no one :
dehaka : I NEED ESSENCE MMMMMM
Dehaka reminds me about the space core of portal 2!
Dehaka is a pretty simple guy I must say.
dehaka is so high on essence
I've uploaded UA-cam videos before and it only takes like 10 seconds to rename a video from 'speechs' to 'speeches'.
Dehaka = Badass
Even though Dehaka's way of speech is quite baren he is by no means stupid, i think that is his greatest strength, people underestimating him and then getting outsmarted and... Collected.
Here's a drinking game while you see this video. Take a shot everytime Dehaka says "essence". Enjoy!
Am i the only on whose favorite character in Heart of the Swarm is Dehaka?
0:35 Surban is in the background, 1:01 and Surban has gone
Dehaka is def that right hand man you want. Haha...(lil hand)
so effort to listen to this guy xD
I can't stop staring at his stumped limbs...
i fuckin loved him
I don't need guns. I evolved quills.
Kerrigan: why do you upset with collecting essence?
Dehaka: dud, why. people. using. drug. yo ?
Steve Blum, Awesome
I would love to see him do this live at a Convention, unless they process the voice with effects, I also wanna hear him do Abathur unless they change that a bit too, but I feel like he can kind of do it without effects
Abathur definitely has effects. I think it's a pitch down, echo, and good old fashioned Zerg flanger. Dehaka on the other hand I'm fairly sure doesn't have effects, that's just Steve doing a crazy voice
To think that this guy is voiced by Spike from Cowboy Bebop…
If you think it is annoying, dont visit this video.
yes he is very similar to tosh abathur is a no brainer replacing swan (or however you spell his name) and it is to bad hes underrated
Essenceeeeeeee!!!!!!
his voice is awesome if that what your mad about and if it is how do you expect him to talk Morgan freeman? its a alien that has been living in a kill or be killed world and is a mixture of different critters put into one he will collect your essence
His speech pattern reminds me of a Daalek
He reminds me of Dinobot from Beast Wars
I find it funny because his views are the exact opposite of the Daleks.
Exactly chasslez
You missed the char and kaldir talk but it can be ignored
agreed abathur is the best thing in the campaign
It's a shame they didn't Make it where he would change and grow better arms with each mission success, wouldve been cool to see.
They are the same actor too... Steve Blum :) Look him up, I'm sure you'll see some credits you recognize
It's almost like SINDRIIIIIII and METUHL BAWKSES but instead, it's I WILL KOHLLEKT DER ESSENCCCCCCE
I feel like playing HoTs campaign now..
Who thinks Dehaka should be a co-op commander?
So that's why he want to get rid of the benders their scences aren't worth collecting XD
Your settings must have been on ultra/max; the whole video looks great!
God that voice actors poor throat
theres not ALL speechs of Dehaka, you must invade zerus before Char or the Kaldir where he says the essence of protoss is strong, and he want to collect, but is warned that he can't.
True enough, especially if these dark ones are what they are cracked up to be.
Dehaka could be a professor in ecological succession XD
hots best fans are here
rachni queen from mass effect.
The description is misleading. This isn't all of Dehaka's speeches.
It is missing his Kaldir comments for one.
Right arm of Dehaka. Wirt's leg reference?
The Swarm are insects and the Primals are more animal like?

Primals collect the essence of all the things they kill so they're a mix of all kinds of animals of their planet, insects, mammals etc.
oh dehaka, you destroy coop, and WHY THE FUCK DO ZERGLINGS PRODUCE 1 AT A TIME
3:41 and 1:09 hint hint, Varimathras dejavù ... imbound ?
what if abathur improves dehaka.. not like he would want to.. i'm on abathur's side.
+Barry Allen He will not want it
why: Abathur is not just giving... he also taking
if he find someting "needles" in him he will want to take it away
Wich thing dehaka may hate
Dehaka would have died of old age, but the essence collected will add to his lifespan as he evolves?
I guess with his constant evolving he is constantly changing his DNA which means he is never the same being. Each time he evolves he re-arranges his DNA thus effectively becoming immortal. As per his words, "stay still and die."
He the only zerg with a beard?:P
You lack Char and Kaldir.
Dehaka in Kaldir? when?
Kriegerdammerung

Darth Sygnious Many thanks :)
Sure, no problem :)
No niech on odkaszlnie bo ma chrypkę
Did Orochimaru become this?
COLLECT
Very boring character. Dumb and one-dimensional, no depth behind him. Just an overpowered zergling with no interesting backstory or traits. Meh.
God that voice actors poor throat
After seeing the voice actor do it at Blizzcon so naturally, I think his throat adapted
"Change is survival."
Steve Blum's specialty are weird voices like this.
