He's brave. He is obviously not comfortable being on camera (you can tell by the way he fidgets) and yet he's doing it anyway, possibly to get past a wall. Despite his nerves being fried, he does a good job and stays focused. I hope he stays sober and has good friends who support him.
I love what you said about being authentic. I've always thought that art is to share the weird part of ourself, the part that we are ashamed of. and if the others like that than we'll be famous. if they don't, then you are still the one who had the gut to show the real you to the world. I respect you. and I think your music is true art. keep going like that!! C. from Italy.
I can't stand that interviewer. Mike was clearly not comfortable speaking about that experience in public, but the interviewer pushed and pushed. It just added a new layer of tension... 🙄
@TheJoshuaZone maybe you didnt look behind the lyrics so you cant really relate to it...idk maybe you just dont like it either lol personally i love mostly his personality and the lyrics
I can't help but find it funny that he is talking about being clean from drugs but his eyes look ridiculously dilated. No accusations, just the first thing that came to mind.
Mike Hadreas is a gem. He always seems on the verge of tears. Amazing human.
Perfume Genius seems so genuine and lovely. Ugh my heart.

Great interview, but at 3:20 I can't quite believe the interviewer kept going with that question.
dude i know.... he obviously seems so uncomfortable with the question in the first place, why on earth would he continue to ask about it???
because Gian Gomeshi. look him up.
@@remuted8656 yup. Creeper/abuser/R&pist. Other than Justin Beiber, Canada’s national embarrassment.
It feels really inappropriate that he kept on with that question. Given Mike's response, he should have moved on immediately.
Aw he's so emotional and I'm completely falling for him
He's had it so rough, so much sympathy goes to this very talented young man.
I fucking love Perfume Genius

Great guy, great musician, love to see him live someday :)
Swoon. He's the best

Perfume Genius + QTV = AWESOME.

Mr. Interviewer Man should have shut his mouth right there.
I can't stand that interviewer. Mike was clearly not comfortable speaking about that experience in public, but the interviewer pushed and pushed. It just added a new layer of tension... 🙄
The interviewer, Jian Ghomeshi, was tried after accounts by multiple people of sexual harassment & sexual assault
Come for the radio, stay for the phycological therapy
@TheJoshuaZone maybe you didnt look behind the lyrics so you cant really relate to it...idk maybe you just dont like it either lol personally i love mostly his personality and the lyrics
Q suits him fine
omg mr. interviewer man has the greatest voice ever.
Is that a laptop with Windows 3.1?
I really like him but omg the mouth sounds in this interview.
Like why can I hear him swallow. Get less like good quality microphones
You're completely wrong. All of the gems come out after that... which is the sign of a good interviewer. It's not like he shut down and disengaged.
Dan Savage …..
I can't help but find it funny that he is talking about being clean from drugs but his eyes look ridiculously dilated. No accusations, just the first thing that came to mind.
its probably due to studio darkness
Some people have huge pupils... And like the other person said, dark studio. Pupils dilate to let in more light...
@TheJoshuaZone yeah I agree. Like, the album is kind of dull
