Lovey video Nic. Logan & I really enjoyed our walk with you ..... we were so lucky with the weather. We even managed to avoid any "bloopers" (although it was a close shave, when walking backwards trying to film one of Logan's Zoomies!).
That was a close call indeed! You did say you liked the heather - thought maybe you wanted a closer look at it 😆 Thanks for a great day and for sharing your knowledge.
@@walkingthewyrd He looked like a fun loving sweetie. I’m a cat man myself but I love dogs. A friend of mine has a Chocolate Labrador who, at 10 years old, is the biggest puppy I’ve ever seen. Just adorable. 🙂
@hughbean6785 I've done quite a few with Dorset Paranormal Investigators now and have become a permanent member of their team. Once they have made the videos, they will be up on their channel, so keep your eyes peeled over there! 🙂
I am going to have to Visit Burley one Weekend soon , only up the road for me as a Hampshire fella. Love all the History we have and the spooky old tales of witchcraft, smuggling ect. And nothing beats the New forest for breath taking views. Keep up the fantastic work as it is Brilliant. 🌹
Great video with fantastic history, love the New Forest used to live in that area a few years ago. Love Daves channel as well and am a follower of his. So it was brilliant to see you two together. Thank you
Hello Nic. Really great vlog and so, so interesting. Real shame Loveys grave is thought to be unmarked. What a fantastic Beech tree too. Love the channel and look forward to the next walk. Thanks 😊
Fascinating piece of history. Smuggling was certainly a fairly common activity along the south coast. My several great grandfather, Roger Ridout, was a well known 'independent tradesman' at a similar time to Lovey Warne !
Hello Nic. Just popping up to say how much I enjoy your videos, which I only discovered a few months ago. Your walks are now right up there with my other favourite UA-cam channels, those of John Rogers and Through Lucy's Lens. Keep the Wyrd alive! P.S. Who doesn't love a whippet - I share my home with one, beautiful Bonny, who is adorable. xxx
Lovely story. The Forest is my home and I love to learn about it's history. I've never heard this story before. Thank you so much for this, I can't get out and about due to mobility problems, but you have brought the Forest Indoors for me, beautiful film.
Thank you for sharing the story of the courageous Lovey Warne. It was nice to see Dave and Logan guiding for you along Lovey Warne's route and on through Ridley's Wood in the New Forest. Would John Warne's sentence of being "transported' mean sent to one of the Colonies, such as Australia? Your video is very well made and you are a terrific presenter.
Hi there! Thank you for your kind comment! It was lovely to meet Dave and Logan - I've been enjoying Dave's channel very much. I think John was likely deported to Australia, yes. I couldn't find him in any further UK documents after that date. Thanks for watching!
Hi Nic, only just found you after seeing you on one of Dave’s Walks! Very interesting and informative Video, thank you . If you like exploring hollow ways paths , there is a great one near Bridport, Hells Lane . Very atmospheric and magical, with many carvings in the soft rocks ! Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos 😊 All the best Alan
@@walkingthewyrd . We did the walk today, not quite the weather you had ! 😂 The woods at the end are quite magical! Something about them , feeling the past . One of our dogs , who is almost blind now , could sense things and was loving it in there 😊 All the best Alan , Michelle and Maisie and Fred 🐕🐕
@lambrettascooter fabulous! I'm so glad you got to walk there today, and yes, a shame about the weather. I agree with your dog about Ridley wood, it has a very strange feel to it! 🙂
Thanks Nic.(Is that your name, or an abbreviation)? I first saw you with Dave Ford and was quite intrigued. Although I'd spotted your channel once or twice previously. Interesting to see two different peoples interpretation of the same walk. But very well presented in all aspects. We've just watched several of yours in succession, so apologies for not leaving a comment on them all.
Thanks Nic
Thank you for watching! 🙂
This was great fun, thank you both! Gorgeous part of the world, and lovely anecdotes.
Thanks Kate!
Another cool story...you can certainly find them Nic!
Cheers, David! Appreciated 😊

Ah yes, I came across Roger Ridout when researching Lovey! Great that you have that ancestral connection!
