I absolutely love hearing disney songs in their native language, its so beautiful
Kate O.o it's not disney though
Klea oh rip
Klea it is now, Disney bought it back
@@Burton3467 still not disney. It was made pre disney buying fox. So not disney even with the buy happening
If russian is really the native language of this song is debatable.. this song reflects the thoughts of anastasia, and one of the reasons some didn't believe she was the daughter of the Russian king is, that she wasn't able to speak russian.... But still i think that the russian lyrics are the best, both the sound and the meaning. Love it
People: so what do you do at 12am?
Me: I’m realy not trying to learn the Russian lyrics of once upon a december or something no no
That was me after 1AM in exams time but it wasn't for once upon a December it was for the song that was playing in the background of Yuri and Ice bear
I can speak Russian but there are some difficult words so dont worry if you cant say all of them
* RUSSIANS INTENSIFIES *

THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THEM ALL
This has been my favorite movie since I was a kid and this song sounded really melancholic to me back then... but this version is just wonderful, I'm Mexican and the lyrics of this song are different.
I know the story of The Romanov Family and that's why this version hit me even harder, I'm crying because of the last part.
Wish I could listen to this earlier.
Thank you.
Thank you from Germany! This song reminds me always of the good times that I had with my ex-wife. It is so sad, that I'll never be able to listen to her singing russian songs anymore. I adored it and I still love her. So wherever you are my love, go your way. As an atheist I swear I'll pray everyday that at least your way will have an happy end. And I hope so much that this way will be ours one day again.

(I’m an American learning German, I did my best)
AnimalArt 427 you did well!
Dasa I guess this is for you lol
I don't know why but that song always reminds me my Dad. He passed away last year, and now every time I hear it I cry...
Wonderful to hear in the native language. Thank you for the translation.
My parents are Russian/Kasachstan so i can speak Russian ,I learn English in school and I'm very good at it and I live in Germany and I was raised there too so of course I can speak German fluently so these subtitles are perfect for me thank you 😘😘❤️
I'm the same Situation like u 😂✌🏻

My mom wants me to sing this for my American public school talent show
gl man
My girlfriend is Russian
I will play this on our wedding day 😊❤
let me know how that goes
That's so sweet
Omg so cute invite me hahaha
Awwww I’m russian-Polish American :) this is my fav song. And it’s a cute song for a wedding
That’s so lovely this is a beautiful song. You guys should go take walz class because to dance to it needs to me waltz
Wunderbar!
Das Lied in russischen Sprache ist super
I think I prefer the English lyrics, but the Russian voice sounds more magical and wintry(?
It has that Waltz feel and so it actually reminds me of those Imperial Waltzes
The Cyrillic Script finally makes sense to me. Russian is a good language, as is Bulgarian. Serbian varies somewhat.

I can imagine Anastasia from FGO singing this when nobody’s looking.
Die deutsche Übersetzung wäre;
My bf is learning Russian and I've always loved this song. So why not learn it for him?
Aw I'm like 1000 years late but that's sounds awesome
So beautiful🫢
Could you do the rest of the songs from Anastasia? With Paris Holds the Key (To Your Heart) in (European) French?

Translation can get pretty awkward especially when you are trying to keep the melody. Still sounds gorgeous.
Who sings it? It;s wonderful.
The Russian version is sung by Masha Katz (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masha_Katz)
Does no one notice that the English translation to the Russian version isn't the song that was sang in the Disney movie
Because words in different languages change to rhyme, the main thing is to leave the meaning.
One thing. X is H in russian.
@ПТИЦААААА exactly!
@ПТИЦААААА hahahah I understand you but I’m too lazy sometimes😂
The other way around: Latin H is Cyrillic Х in Russian.
is this in a higher pitch?
I have not intentially modified the pitch, so it should be the same as in ua-cam.com/video/E9JPqJDRNQg/v-deo.html
Stephan Spittaler right, but is it the same pitch as the film? I don’t know why but it sounds higher to me???? Maybe it’s just me lmao sorry for being a pest
It's okay and you are right. When I compare it to ua-cam.com/video/fxcLV58mbOY/v-deo.html then yes, then there definitely seems to be a difference, most probably in a higher pitch. In fact, I actually like to lower pitch version better
Stephan Spittaler right??? I compared it to the English version and to the Broadway version an again, it seems to be in a higher pitch. You don’t remember modifying it? Where did you get the audio? (The mystery of the pitch)
I simply took it from ua-cam.com/video/E9JPqJDRNQg/v-deo.html. I guess in order to unveil the pitch mystery, we would need to ask ua-cam.com/channels/zH5KBOVNPpvt5aBah2zZLw.html
The lyrics tho!!

Isn't the last part a question? Like Will you be with me again in December? I've been studying Russian just for a few weeks so I'm not sure
Francesca Thats a good question indeed. I'm not a native speaker myself, but as the difference is really only made by intonation and I cannot clearly hear it to be a question, I simply anticipated it to be a statement.
Stephan Spittaler Thanks!
Stephan Spittaler it’s the inversion that caught my attention: будешь тьи kinda sounds like a question. Of course, it could be just cause it’s a song
@@francesca7930 let me do some research and get back to you if I find out
Stephan Spittaler native Russian speaker here. Yes it depends on intonation. Usually when it’s written like that it is a question, but if said with the correct intonation, saying «Будешь ты» instead of «ты будешь» is used the same way as an emphasis - like “you WILL be with me in December.” Also if spoken the “correct” way, it wouldn’t match the cadence of the song.
Alright time to learn my 2nd language-

I love hearing this in Russian. However, the English translation is completely wrong, and makes zero sense.
Whadyu mean? The English looks normal to me. It's kind of poetic, but it still makes clear sense to me...
Also if you're comparing it to the official English version of the song, different languages change the wording but usually keep the same feeling (unless they're poorly translated or they don't understand the meaning of the song, which in this case it does not apply)
@@3_LollipopOfTheMoldiKind Because it's inaccurate. There's no reason to change it.
@@PersephoneDaSilva But it might not have the right syllable count and rhythm if they make it 100% accurate, or even too close to it. That's another reason other language versions are usually so different-- they have to improvise a lot.
Lily Feng is Russian
I'm an American citizen with European and African ancestry....Why is it that I can sing this almost by heart(I sang a song about plucking a bird when I was little. And here's the kicker....I NEVER took French until my Sophomore year of HighSchool.)
In fact it's Russian and not French :-)
translation from Russian into English is not correct.
Once upon a December 🇷🇺 Romanov 💔…
Well, quite strange that it is called Russian Version, as actually this is the original and Once upon in December is only english version of russian song from russian and no Disney cartoon😐

You just don't get it because you can't speak Russian, I promise you I cry every time I hear this song
Jesus Christ, that escalated quickly...

@@Liana-rb6wo The Arabic version is sad too if you can comprehend it, and it makes me want to cry too when I hear it because it reminds me of my childhood; but I agree that the Russian version, since it's the native one, is the most beautiful if you compare with all the different versions ! (The Arabic version is 2nd, after the Russian version in my top list)
