Hey can someone tell me where in Tolkien’s writings they discuss the actual crafting of these rings? Thanks in advance. As a jeweler, I can confirm that the way that they melt the metals into ingots is accurate, except that they’d do it in a single pour into the mold, then take the smalll chunk of gold or silver and flatten it out, cut it, hammer it, pull it into wire, etc. cool to see it depicted in the elven way
You are a jeweler but you didnt saw 1 stupidity in that scene? The dagger was made of gold and silver and both ware melted togger which should of formed an alloy (Electrum) then added the Methril.
