Good looking guys, on top of their duties and definitely pros. As a pilot in training I gotta say I'm proud of the older colleague's performance :) Great video!
Two thoughts come to mind, either the 737 Max is now the most safety tested aircraft in history and therefore the safest or two, pilots prefer to hand fly it as much as possible as they still don't entirely trust the MCAS. Either way, the 737 Max desperately needs some good press coverage. I think for me, although it's probably now the safest aircraft in the sky, I can't easily forgive Boeing for the way they treated the victims and initially blamed the pilots. Character matters.
@@Jan-dn6jo I would say its A) Company policy. Some airlines don't want their pilots hand flying much. B) Pilots are not used to be filmed, so maybe when they are filmed they feel uneasy and rather focus on the whole operation and let the autopilot do the flying.
LOT pilots are landing smoother without landing gear, than ryanair with. There was one case when LOT plane had landing gear failure, and passengers was telling that was really soft touchdown. When I was flying by ryanair pilot smash ground that hard, that I thought he broke my spine.

A fantastic video! Have watched it twice and will no doubt re-watch many times. Would like so much to see a 2nd half to this flight for the approach, landing, taxi to gate and final power down. A very fine captain and co-pilot. I quite like the CPDLC system which gives 100% visual static confirmation that remains perpetual and logged; if my life had been very different and was a pilot, a big fear would be not clearly understanding the sometimes limited 'audio quality' ATC voice instructions/commands, as well as the multitude of diverse and beautiful accents we are blessed with from around the world and of course the occasional speed-shortening of instructions given by some veterans that may not always fall clearly and concisely to some whom embrace and rely on clear and concise communications. I have seen flight videos where this has been an issue, even one where a polite international airline captain was what appeared to be treated slightly rudely by a US controller for merely politely wanting to re-confirm instructions -- as a passenger, I would say re-confirm it as much as is necessary and required. The CPDLC system, though probably not needed for the majority of above and beyond excellent pilots and air traffic controllers, it certainly nevertheless improves aspects of reference/control and contributes towards enhancing the strive towards 'fail-safe' aviation systems and travel -- thus enhanced safety and security all round, in the long term.
I don't know if someone noticed it. If you look at the EICAS display on the N2 indicator it says motoring. These new engines have thin rotor shafts by design to save weight. Because of this after shutdown the cool down of the shaft if not uniform and it may bow. It can cause extreme vibrations and blade destruction. Motoring is introduced during startup to heat the components uniformly before fuel is introduced for ignition.
