I'm a retired cop shop reporter. By far, the vast majority of law enforcement are true, public servants in my experience. However, I did hear stories but it was the sheriffs and police chiefs who actively worked to reform law enforcement and eliminate bad practices. To bolster your conclusion that politicians have broken the social compact a big city PD near us that was notoriously corrupt, set about to clean out the ranks and implement higher level professionalism. Progress was being made and then "Hands up, don't shoot" happened. Law enforcement from the prosecuting attorney down to the young, new cadets were then entrenched in woke policing - which is no policing at all.
We are in agreement, “Woke” policing practices are implemented from the top down. When politicians eliminate or decriminalize the enforcement of laws for example, mob shoplifting, burglary/theft from vehicles or allowing trespassing limiting a business access, that is not part of the agreement. Thank you for your thoughts.

I had grade school teachers - all older women - who’d taught my father and uncle before me, in our small California foothills town, and as I approach 60, I look back on them with increasing reverence, admiration and awe. Any given one of them could more than competently teach us geography, literature (and deep love of books), math, music (all played piano or another instrument), history that leapt off the page, civics and government, basic manners and being an honourable person. And for myself, I wanted with all my being to achieve what these women thought me capable of learning. My maternal grandmother, born in east Texas in 1913, taught in a one-room schoolhouse and even in later years could rise to any occasion and help me with whatever I wasn’t able to learn at school. The education she received in her small town high school left her wonderfully equipped not just to teach but to reason, to read, to write with style, depth and conviction, which inspired me to become a writer myself. I look back at these women and it’s almost as if I’m a time-traveller from a century or more ago, instead of 45-50 years.

Going for it, with all effort and giving it a try, without breaking, if they fail. It is damn hard to try your best and to acknowledge to your self that you are not good enough. Do the sciences apply to 9/11? How does the steel have to be distributed down a skyscraper for it to support it's own weight? Consider the distribution of 10,000 tons of wrought iron down the Eiffel🗼Tower. The steel was not visible in the Twin Towers. So where is a table of the tons of steel and tons of concrete on each level, including the 6 basement levels? Where have "experts" discussed how the distribution of mass must have affected the collapse time due to the Conservation of Momentum. It has only been Two Decades.
