Pulp Fiction I realise I’m being unfair to OaAtIH as if I was putting my critic hat on, it’d objectively be better than a lot of the others and I liked it far more than h8 when I first saw it. But it’s one I really struggle to rewatch and it’s after his super talented editor died and probably where he gets the most self indulgent with his interests, and as someone with no interest in Old school Hollywood and have no romanticism towards that era, I’m just the wrong audience. Half my platoon walked out at the IED scene where he just pulls them up, the rest left at the sniper scene. It's absurdly ridiculous.
Sorry but u definitely cant compare Hans Landa in Inglorious Bastards to someone as realistic & evil as Amon Goeth is from Schindler's List!!!! They ain't even close.. not as characters not as Nazis , not as individuals & not as war criminals!!!!! Hans Landa is a fictional character that is actually more of a anti hero than a actual villain in the film because he actually only kills one person that we see & its literally because shes a enemy spy /famous attractive celebrity that Germans worship/ traitor!!!! But... Landa is also the only person/character in the entire film to actually end the war & save any innocent lives while every other character/protagonist/Good guy/Americans is just killing everyone they hate regardless if they're killing racist war criminals or not!!!!! 😂 Obviously its just a movie & not actual WW2 history but in the film Landa literally single handedly ended the biggest war in all of world history while also taking out Hitler & the entire high command & saved all the "good guys"/Allies when he could have easily just tortured all of them & had them all executed instead & atill allowed all his fellow racist SS buddies to stay alive in that theater but the fact is that he didn't , he literally didn't!!!!! 😂 He literally did more good than everyone else put together at the end!!!! He even saved Aldo (Brad Pitts character) at the end of the film & he's literally the films main protagonist & Hero!!!!!!😂 Amon Goeth on the other hand is based on a real life German Nazi criminal/comandant of the SS/3rd Reich of murderers that really did everything he actually did in the Schindler's List movie & even way more!!!! Hes responsible for personally killing & executing over a thousand Jewish Holocaust victims along with hundreds of Polish , Lithuanian & Slovic POWs by either over working them all to death or starving them to deatz or by using his sniper rifle & pistol to execute them all personally!!! That doesn't even include all the other Jewish Prisoners that he allowed to be sent off to the gas chambers!!!!! U can't compare these two , Hans Landa is a great villain in a QT movie but still ain't a fraction of a villain compared to Ralph Finnes Amon Goeth character from Schindler's List!!!! The main difference between them both is that Landa is a Nazi & a bad guy but when it comes to Nazis being bad guys in general , Hans is on the bottom tier of evil while Amon is literally on the very top tier!!!!!
Being pedantic but yeah, Landa may not have used his own weapon but he DID order his cronies to slaughter a bunch of innocent Jewish civilians in the first scene. He chose to go into a line of work where he’d slaughter innocent civilians, and he goes for cases where the Jews would have been overlooked and lived a bit longer if he didn’t double check. What he DOESN’T really do unlike Goeth is engage with the r@c1st ideology outside the allusions in the ‘hawk and the rat’. For him, it appears to be more about power trips. Coulda just slaughtered the Jews in the first scene right off, but had to toy with the farmer. If he really cared that much about eradicating the Jews, he would have unalived Shosa but he didn’t. Playing God and letting her live (while shouting Au Revoir Shosa so she KNOWS he let her escape) was another power game where he got the thrill of knowing she lives at his leisure, and he has complete control of this situation. The spy was probably killed not because of her treachery, but because SHE ended the charade before he was ready and gave up. He certainly wasn’t a hero ending the war, as he happily slaughtered loads of innocent Jews and helped prop up that regime until he was done with it. Not because it was the right thing to do, but probably in part because he had a hunch at that point that Germany couldn’t win this and he’d be tried for war crimes, but also because it was another power play; humiliating the allies’ flimsy charade and got the generals on the phone to give in to every demand on his list. Hilariously orchestrating a magnificent checkmate only to have it foiled by the equivalent of a chimp throwing the board and eating his king before taking a dump on his new shoes. He IS absolutely a villain, but his defeat wasn’t in the conventional sense, but through someone else getting one over him in his power plays. Yet all of this makes him an excellent MOVIE bad guy. You are right that you cannot compare this to a very grounded and based in reality depiction of the real life n@zis. Landas got more in common with The Joker or Javier than any of the realistic Nazi characters
My list couldn't be more different other than the no. 1 spot lol, 1) Pulp Fiction 2) Once Upon a time in... Hollywood 3) Reservoir Dogs 4) The Hateful Eight 5) Django Unchained 6) Death Proof 7) Inglorious Basterds 8) Jackie Brown 9) Kill Bill

@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ soooo ...let me try to explain this the best I can to u two boys....the reason a film like Death Proof for example is so damn high on my list when others are overall better films is because there's hidden genius in certain films that even the directors & biggest fans didn't even realize was there & Death Proof is a perfect example of that !!!!! Idk why but it was thought up as a idea & written in a way that actually makes sense on a level that is completely alien to all other films !!!!! For example nobody writes a simple conversation & the & have actors acting completely on accident without knowing they still that randomly multi layering things that them & nobody else on the set even thought up including Tarantino himself!!!! I'm speaking of some kind of random accidental perfection that happens in certain scenes the the writers & actors didn't even try or think to do but it still happened regardless!!!! That movie is a great example because it definitely has scenes like that!!!! Accidental perfection in certain movie scenes comes from the most random films I swear
Death proof is way worse than Jackie Brown . This is not subjective the only reason you put D P anywhere but last is just you guys trying to be cute or different or play devils advocate . Tim Roth and Walton Goggins are also in Once Upon.

WRONG! August Diehl is a German, not an Austrian!
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ Chill out, I just wrote that way that you check it and for me it's easy to know cause I am an Austrian. Nice vids, thanks!

@@maralinekozial9131 great point!
Django unchained is his only flawless movie. Although most are very close

Death proof is way worse than Jackie Brown . This is not subjective the only reason you put D P anywhere but last is just you guys trying to be cute or different or play devils advocate . Get real and do what your gut tells you don’t over think it , cause you guys are coming off as total douches when you do that . I like you guys but your showing your ignorance rn .
We completely disagree with everything you’ve just said, this is our honest ranking, we’re not trying to do anything
