The Manhattan Borough Commander's office is actually at E-7/TL-1/B-1's firehouse on Duane Street.
very nice catch, if id be at Roma street fire station yesterday avo I would of got a full house turnout.

Why don't they have remote control doors closers?
If there were a Beefsteak Charlie's along the way, would they let you hitch a ride?

Does any one out there know what the average response time is with all the traffic problems thay have. Just asking.
The FDNY average response time is 5 minutes. Sometimes could be 10 minutes in the heavy traffic areas.
@@dofaproductionstudios5991
Really, boy with some of the traffic thay deal with that is such a great response time, I guess the second or should I say, second alarm response units, have more time because thay come a longer distance.
Is it forbidden to get in the truck inside the building?
Is it normal that the Borough Commander is responding to a Class III?
It's not, but in this situation he maybe felt joining, because the whole fire house responded as well!
Any idea who jumped in the Tahoe wearing the white shirt?
Manhattan Borough Commander!
TheSpot so he’s above the BC ?
@@steveyusko lol like 5 levels above a bc
@@michaelpatanella yep the bc has control over a couple stations with the Manhattan brough commander has full control over all units in Manhattan
Why the heck don’t they blow the siren when they are leaving the Firehouse? It amazes me no end because when I was a kid fire trucks used to do this all the time as they rolled out. What are they afraid they might wake someone up.? I see this in numerous fire videos...they pull out with zero sirens like it’s some kind of a stealth operation.
Why, if there is no one around to hear it?
And also yes, noise complaints from nearby residents, who I can appreciate being very annoyed by it.
@Michael Rief:
They have personnel outside stopping pedestrians and cars, they safely pull out, the FFs get on the rig, and as soon as they start rolling, the usually start w/siren.
Keep in mind:
- You DO NOT want to blow the siren / air horn inside!
Besides deafening everybody, it also adds confusion- "Where is it? I don't see it! " 1 trip into the City, you'll understand!
- The audibles aren't usually necessary just exiting quarters
(see #1)
- If they're not needed, yeah, don't piss-off the neighbors!
(The FFs DO 'live there' too!)
- TRUE FACT: (Although not really talked about too much) --
Hearing Problems are VERY common in Emergency Responders!
Those sirens are surprisingly loud INSIDE the vehicle ( FD, PD, EMS ) and these guys (and gals) are listening to it (sometimes) ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!!
After 20, 30 years, their most common sentence is, " HUH?"

Excellent reply and explanation. I grew up in small town Norwood Ohio (Cincinnati)l I hung out at the main firehouse for hours waiting for an alarm to drop.
I will never forget the time the entire house went out and they had me close the manual doors after they rolled out.
I always wanted to be a Fireman but I never got the opportunity. Maybe it’s best that it happened that way since I would probably be gone by now but I still pull over and get excited whenever a fire truck is passing me on the road.
Great video! What camera do you use?
This video was captured with a Canon 600D with 18-300 lens.
never understood why FDNY chiefs don’t drive them selves. It’s kinda cool
I think it's because there is a lot of radio work on arrival and right before and it allows them to focus on their job.
Loudest loudest loudest
Is there any particular reason why the Borough Command car is unmarked?
My guess is that since its a bourgh commander it isn't used much and FDNY didn't see the need to make into a regular vehicle
The last vehicle is NYPD?
It’s not. It’s a FDNY car.
Thank you!
What is a class 3?
The type of building.
Thanks
Car Lucky 7!
I’m going
Never fails to amaze me how long it takes fdny to respond any slower and they can call someone else!
Just love they are so slow moving
What do you means
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast...
@@gregheyheyhey Slow is slow.
N.Y. Drivers 😥😥😥😥
