There's a lot of pressure through the elbow in a 1-arm pushup. This is probably fine for most (younger) people, but if you've tweaked your elbow like me going into your 40's this may not be ideal anymore. But if people want to get there, there's one extra auxiliary exercise I'd recommend. Just the 1-arm push-up top plank hold. Set a timer for 15 or 20 seconds, and switch to just the extended one-arm plank. This will train the core in ways it needs to ready for to do 1-arm push-ups without having all sorts of sagging and twisting in your torso and hips. It's actually a pretty challenging exercise and can be a fun plank variation to try to do it for 2-3+ minutes switching hands every 15-20 seconds. You'll notice the way your core has to brace in the 1-arm position quickly.
IDK! HOW but, it worked for me when I started doing 300 pushups a day, I was able to do normal one arm and then soon I also achieved the perfect one arm pushup.

It's actually quite common to discover weaker muscle groups during certain exercises. Keep consistent with your training, and you'll see improvements in your tricep strength over time.
Can you do a video for a strong and useful core instead of flex abs? I really want your help coz I don't trust other non-researchents in this matter and you seem experienced and sophasticated

i would've added one-arm scapula push-ups, cause those can even be quite difficult. i remember i was knocking out sets of archers, but when should be one-arm scapula push-up, i could hardly do 5 with the same pace and form of regular two-arm scapula push-ups

NEED TO TRAIN MORE UPDATE: ı reliezed that ı didnt rest between 10 rep push-ups so ı rested a lıttle then dıd the archer push ups then ı dıd lıke 13 :D ı am so happy for ıt rıght now. for my fellas who wonders how much ı weıght or how much ıs my heıght ı am 53 kılos (for my amerıcan fellas ıts 116 pounds) and my heıght ıs 169cm ( whıch means 5,6)
I have the same problem. I have enough strength to do even explosive push ups, but I feel a lot of tensions in my shoulders doing normal push ups I watched the video and researched a bit and I'm guessing that the scapula is lacking. I'll do the scapula push ups later and see how it goes.

If you're getting out of breath during push-ups, it's probably because of how you're breathing. Try this: breathe out when you push up, breathe in when you go down.

In my opinion, all you should do is just spamming regular push up day by day. When i start working out, i choose push up as my excercise and then, i try one arm push up and fail. Since then i just keep spamming regular ones day by day, and once my tricep got stronger, i try again and success. So if you want to do one arm push up, just ignore it, keep doing normal one and then, through the process, you will be able to do it automatically

This video is both hard to not insult and hard to insult more than it deserves. 1) the only movement in the video that is somewhat specific to oapu's are archer pushups. This is usually where you BEGIN your oapu progression. You have to do A LOT more one-arm stuff to prepare for oapu's 2) oapu's are especially hard on the core, shoulders (including stabilizers) and serratus. Plank holds are nowhere near enough to prepare your core. 3) explosive pushups AFTER being able to do 10 triceps extensions? That's like learning to solve linear equations before learning to multiply. Most of all: you don't even need to be able to do tri extensions for the oapu.
