You know the reason his voice is so shot up these days is because up until scenes from a memory he spent a stupid amount of a concert singing like he does at 6:18. Whilst I truly adore the sound of him belting his overly soft voice is quite unique and Dream Theater wouldn't sound like Dream Theater without it.
Money saving idea for the drum tech.... ditch the top rack section and utilise the lighting truss. Hang those cymbals a little higher. There’s only a few inches in it.
Its just stupid lol... For his age its horrible. You’re not letting your limbs get enough blood flow and you’re definitely gonna throw a cuff. Its just not effective or ergonomic, looks dumb.
This is because MM listens to MP's request, so MM happily raises the cymbals and lets each hit technique more clearly visible, this will make it easier for MP to learn many things that he doesn't understand. Good for MP! So, be thankful, my son.

I was also interested to see him trying to get the intro feedback from the stage monitor, indicates that he's gone fully over to cab IRs and modelling? Axe FX, Helix or Kemper or such a device, direct into the PA and monitoring thru both IEMs and stage monitors............ possibly, just a theory
One thing is very surprising to me that how does john Myung play that bass harmonic as soon as the intro string section stops.... he plays it in accurate timing... Do they have a metronome click on their in ear monitors???🤔🤔
Gaurav Lama i heard a while back that once Mangini joined the band they began performing with a click track, when portnoy was in the band he would change the set every night, plus they did a lot more improvised sections within their songs which they don’t seem to do anymore. In saying that too Myung has been playing that part for over 15 years now so I’d imagine he should be on point with it lol

I was at that Toronto show as well in April and Labrie sounded really good, probably the best he's sounded in awhile.
To be honest, DT without LaBrie would not sound like DT anymore to me. I can't listen to their first album without his voice :/
