The idea behind the project is to collaborate online to record these covers.
Although some good friends of mine form the core of the project, the band won't necessarily be the same for every song. We will have guests from around the world participating, mostly on vocals though, at our discretion.
How does it work?
Each guy in the band records their parts (audio tracks and video) at home or at a local studio and sends them to me.
I then put the audio together and mix it. This has been a great exercise for me (mixing). I learn the concept behind the sound of my favorite albums and try a whole bunch of cool techniques attempting to replicate it closely.
I AB my mix with the original song but don't get too crazy about it. It's difficult to get the sound exactly right due to a number of variables. When I get it close enough I stop comparing the two and just get it to sound good (hopefully) from there.
When the final stereo audio track is done I take it to a video editing software and sync everyone's videos to it. After a bit of editing and level/color correction it's ready for UA-cam. :)

Am I the only one who thinks the drums are just a few milliseconds off sync?
They are a bit off sync, and that's my fault while mixing! Everyone is taking it out on poor Paulinho ever since we released this video! My bad people!
He is a little bit out of the groove, however, as Thiago sad, it is a mixing problem...few are able to play at least 50% of what Paulinho plays..take I look on other videos where he plays with VRA and you can see how great drummer he is.

Like someone else mentioned, the slightly off beat you guys are feeling in the DRUMS is probably my fault aligning the instruments up while editing/mixing. Paulinho is an amazing player, and "As I Am" wouldn't be a problem for him, check out all our other videos.

Barely noticeable of "timing issue" in multiple comments...as a player myself for 22 years, I personally can tell its simply a mixing misallignment. Incredible job guys; Dream T is most likely the most difficult band to ever try to follow and being able to play 10% of them is impressive!! You guys obviously put MANY hours into perfecting all the compexity of this band and its epic. How long you guys been together? On average how much time put in to complete a single song?
I must say, your Metropolis pt. 1 was sweetest cover ive ever witnessed, the vocalist was unwordly! I actually liked him better than original band singer he had a hell of a voice
