Ubisoft is creativily bankrupt, their games are soulless. They really should hire some people to make 2 year cycle single player games that stray as far as possible from the Ubisoft formal ( Ac, Far cry, etc )

I am admittedly an AC fan, but those who are critical about the historical accuracy just needs to grow a pair, grow some common sense and get a life. Origins was vastly inaccurate but the narrative still blended fiction and real history to tell a compelling story. Assassins Creed games has never been 100% accurate in terms of historical accuracy. Thats why people still love the series. The world created + historic flavors in storytelling is still a positive of the AC games.

I"m surprised Lunar is even getting a remastered collection...given the game series over the course of 10 games only sold 1 million copies total. Something like that sounds like a financial risk. If a series sold THAT poorly you wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
Until Final Fantasy VII took JRPG's mainstream in the west, the most successful Squaresoft games used to sell just a few hundred thousand copies tops. Lunar was originally on the Sega CD, then when it came to PS1 it still looked like a last gen series with a little known name, published by a niche localization company. Almost every Lunar game is just a remake of some kind and really only reached JRPG fans with eclectic taste. It's pretty niche, but it's not exactly some big AAA failure that had hundreds of millions of dollars riding on it and I doubt this remaster has cost a lot to produce.
Ubisoft is the best industry example of what will happen to the industry if they continue on the path of pushing moral and agenda on gamers. Funny seeing some give Zelda 100 and others 60, this is why we need the reviewers gaming background explained on reviews so we know who to listen to and who to ignore when it comes to certain series and genre
@@gregorymansour1763 unfortunately most reviews only talk about the game itself, without the wider context of how the reviewer sees the series or genre, if you know what they think about those things you can know whether their opinion is relevant for you. Like if they're a big fan of series you're not or rank your least favourite entries in a series as their favourite then the opinion is not likely to be useful as it's not likely to align with your own.
Agreed, it's important to know the context of the reviewer which is rarely talked about. You might have a die hard Zelda fan willing to give anything a 9/10. Then you might have a person who only plays top of the line graphic games or "mature" titles then would give it 6/10 because they personally don't like those genres or style.
15:51 80 fps actually doesn't work great with 120 Hz displays (without VRR at least). With 40 fps, it works nicely, because you get a new frame every 3 updates. With 60 fps, you get a new frame every 2 updates. With 80 fps, you'll get the following though Update 1 - New frame Update 2 - Same frame Update 3 - New frame (16.66 ms since last frame) Update 4 - Same frame Update 5 - New frame (16.66 ms since last frame) Update 6 - New frame (8.33 ms since last frame) Update 7 - Same frame and then the pattern repeats from update 1. It's uneven - sometimes a frame lingers 8.33 ms, sometimes it lingers 16.66 ms. You'd need a 240 Hz screen for 80 fps to work well without VRR Maybe the mode mentioned for Stellar Blade is actually a VRR mode targeting 80fps, rather than a locked 80 fps mode?
Honestly props to Ubisoft for delaying a game. They’re probably my least favorite company in the industry, but I hope with a delay it at least means their employees aren’t being crunched AS much. I still don’t see them surviving to the end of the decade however.
I haven't trusted Ubisoft since I was playing The Division 2 campaign, solo, was grinding a boss and got booted to main screen because the Ubisoft server crashed. I never played the game again.
Ubisoft has some great tech and talent, but Ubisoft seems to mandate a certain scope and I think that is holding them back. A game that could have been great in a more focused experience becomes a shore in a dragged out open world.
I sent numerous mails to retailers in Croatia and most of them said they have no info about items, even the distributor. I’m getting Echoes of wisdom from my local (Swedish) library for free at launch. I’ve done this for at least a dozen console games now, saving me hundreds of dollars on games I’m likely to only play once or twice. Is this as easy to do in the US?
No. It's not common to do here. However I have been incredibly lucky to have living in two places that have had library systems which offer videogames as the physical CD's and Music media has dwindled. My previous library gave me priority access to new games, but my current library waits one year from release before adding games to the library, as their supplier offers discounts.
Don't know about the US but it's certainly not possible in New Zealand. A library with video games? They would be immediately stolen. And nobody would ever want to spend tax money on that.
It’s not very common to do this and the biggest downside is tbh at your copy is probably digital and even if it’s free, I just can’t because physical games matter to me.
I haven’t ran into performance issues in Zelda yet. I do see choosing echoes to become cumbersome after awhile. I’m hoping you unlock a way to customize or ping favorites later on. Honestly Ubi can stuff it. I am a huge AC fan but I’ve had it with Ubisoft. Went to go play the Crew 1 just cause this week only to find out I can’t even play single player which is all I play anyways. Freaking ridiculous. Now I’m just waiting for the same fait to hit AC.
For the quest 3 also it had a price drop so the base model which is still $499 comes with 512gb storage vs 128gb
I hope Meta fails and goes bankrupt
I can't stand that they dropped PCVR support just so they can force people into buying a Quest 3.
They literally created a boat load of Quest 2 ewaste out of pure greed, this genuinely shouldn't be legal. Lol
The Quest 2 could've easily lasted 10 years via PCVR support but nope greed is more important.
Screw meta
@@GiliverAnd make 100k plus people unemployed?
Sony.. No console is worth over 1k. You take concord failure and learn from it, Don't milk the people for your mistake.
Ubisoft is creativily bankrupt, their games are soulless. They really should hire some people to make 2 year cycle single player games that stray as far as possible from the Ubisoft formal ( Ac, Far cry, etc )
Hope no Limited Run Games stuff for Lunar, I would like to get the game in 2025, not in 2028 being low quality and without EU version...
Aye
Same with legacy of kain I'd rather not wait the full term of a human pregnancy to get a game
@@DeadPhoenix86DPWell, they aren't Nintendo...
Likely it'll be through Play-Asia as well. The Grandia Collection while the NA physical version is handle by Limited Run Games, the Asian physical version is handle by Play-Asia, that's the one I bought it from. When I got the Play-Asia version, the LRG version wasn't even out yet.
I am not a fan of LRG. Be happy to order Lunar from Play Asia (as long as it is all on the disc/cart). - Grandia Collection: I played through Grandia 2 on it and dealt with 4-5 crashes. I learned to save often and finished the game. I played on Switch. Still a great game!

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom release 🎉
Ubisoft can delay Shadows all it wants... they know it's not gonna do anything for its favor who were already critical of it... moving the release to Valentine's won't suddenly make people love it more
I am admittedly an AC fan, but those who are critical about the historical accuracy just needs to grow a pair, grow some common sense and get a life.
Origins was vastly inaccurate but the narrative still blended fiction and real history to tell a compelling story. Assassins Creed games has never been 100% accurate in terms of historical accuracy.
Thats why people still love the series. The world created + historic flavors in storytelling is still a positive of the AC games.

9:00 This letter is from corporate which is in France. AC Shadows is made in Quebec Canada. The last words in the letter says "our goal is not to push any specific agenda". Maybe corporate needs to ensure their subsidiaries are not giving off that perception.
I'm beginning to think the consultants that inject agendas into games are a form of corporate sabotage. Ubi is very vulnerable now for a takeover and tencent already has a significant share in the company
Man, Im just glad I was able to buy a 30th anniversary dualsense. Ive already seen scalpers prices here in Brazil
I thought all consoles (except Megadrive I guess) pretty much still scalped (grey imported) in Brazil. Good the companies have opened official channels then.
Just discovered this channel for the first time. I really appreciate your style without the snark and drama. Too many gaming news channels seem to want to just rag or dogpile on everything. Just doesn’t seem professional and I just want news. I’ll make my own opinions. So thank you.
Some people like to be real and not censor themselves. Jon is extremely safe to a fault. RGT (one of his podcast members) as much as i can’t stand him much of time has more of a backbone.
Oh, SpawnWave (John) gets his snarky fanboy jabs in. You'll see
Then you're just ignoring the elephant in the room with Ubisoft
The snark is in the fan base lmao, he knows he doesn't have to do it.
Speaking of limited run; I wish limited run games would delay lollipop chainsaw since it’s getting a massive patch
I Like how you Leaked Assassins Creed Outlaw: the First Assassins Creed Western , I Can Picture it Now
I"m surprised Lunar is even getting a remastered collection...given the game series over the course of 10 games only sold 1 million copies total.
I mean they hired Sweet baby Inc and a leak video from one of their employee was leaked and she clearly said her goal was to "burn the industry to the ground".
How do you feel about woman protagonist in ghost 2 then?
@@MarcusM334 I personally don't mind about a woman protagonist as long it's done well. I can separate the actress from the product and I hope the story will good without any agenda or moral shove in our faces.
I don’t know if there is a phrase I love more in gaming then “free demo, your save data will transfer to the min game”
Did Ubisoft delay assassins creed so they could push yasuke during black history month so it shields it from criticism?
Probably who knows.
I’ve come to learn coincidences aren’t coincidences. Your postulation is very plausible.
Sure seems like it.
Ubisoft hiding behind February for a reason. Just wait and see. 😂
Black Pride Month in the USA? they will give the back against japan and expect the month give them enough strength on sales?
Black History month will save them! lmao
Ubisoft should have stopped fleecing their customers with predatory practices.
I checked the PlayStation Direct website to see if there were any anniversary controllers available and immediately got placed into a waiting room. Over an hour wait time. I’m guessing scalpers got most of the stuff available.
I was there not too long ago. They still had controllers available. I couldn't pre-order from Sony, though, because I kept getting a "Can't connect to server" message when I tried to log in. Luckily, Target had more pre-orders available, so I bought it from there. Retailers like Target, Best Buy, and Walmart are rolling out pre-orders every hour, it seems.
@@G360LIVE I managed to get in but couldn’t sign in. My browser on my phone wouldn’t bring up the keyboard to enter my password. I’ll take that as a sign not to get anything yet.
Preorders for the PRO are still available several hours after going up. All of the anniversary stuff sold out fast. That includes the controllers that are not as limited and were sold on multiple stores this morning. Looks like the PRO is not going to sell that well
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now releasing the same month as Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirates in Hawaii. Ubisoft is about to be mogged by their own pirate game, but done better!
80fps should look pretty smooth. God of War Ragnarok’s high frame rate performance mode hits 80 fps regularly and it feels great.
If only there was some kind of limbless Legend to come save Ubisoft...
Funny seeing some give Zelda 100 and others 60, this is why we need the reviewers gaming background explained on reviews so we know who to listen to and who to ignore when it comes to certain series and genre
You know you could just read the reviews to get their perspective, right?
With 80 fps, you'll get the following though
Update 1 - New frame
Update 2 - Same frame
Update 3 - New frame (16.66 ms since last frame)
Update 4 - Same frame
Update 5 - New frame (16.66 ms since last frame)
Update 6 - New frame (8.33 ms since last frame)
Update 7 - Same frame
and then the pattern repeats from update 1. It's uneven - sometimes a frame lingers 8.33 ms, sometimes it lingers 16.66 ms. You'd need a 240 Hz screen for 80 fps to work well without VRR
Maybe the mode mentioned for Stellar Blade is actually a VRR mode targeting 80fps, rather than a locked 80 fps mode?
it was a little weird for him to say he wants to see how it would feel, has he never played higher fps games?
Honestly props to Ubisoft for delaying a game. They’re probably my least favorite company in the industry, but I hope with a delay it at least means their employees aren’t being crunched AS much. I still don’t see them surviving to the end of the decade however.
Glad Ubisoft is having problems..now Xbox can acquire them
Because Xbox is so much better... Lol
Yeah and then they shut ubisoft down after acquiring it. Here's hoping.

A game that could have been great in a more focused experience becomes a shore in a dragged out open world.
ubisoft on making games: “disbehard 😣”
Ubisoft said get used to not owning games. I got used to not buying them.
Ubisoft has been a problem sense they put rayman on a shelf for those fooking rabbits
I sent numerous mails to retailers in Croatia and most of them said they have no info about items, even the distributor. One company did, in the end, have listings for the digital edition and they said the PS5 Pro bundle won't even be available in the country. Great... thanks Sony... won't even have the chance to try to get it. On the German eBay listings are from 2.5k - 5.5k euros, which is around 2.8k - 6.2k USD. Sad times :(
Ghost of Yotei's gonna have a field day in marketing seeing the people involved. I wonder what's gonna happen.
Some PS5 games are 600p internal resolution faked up to 1440p. So I can see the PS5 pro blowing up 1080p to 8k.

Thank you for talking about Metaphor Re: Fantazio. It is my most anticipated game. Atlus has been killing it lately. The demo is about 5 hours long supposedly.
It took me about 7 hours to finish. 3 and half of those were the games prologue. Game is awesome.
Is this a new IP for Atlus or does it belong in one of their series?

Idk how I can watch a game for 30secs and tell it won't sell and a whole company can work on a game for years and think it'll sell.
Companies want to tell you what you should like. That’s the problem.
I am actually so glad Jin didn’t wind up getting dragged out for another game. I felt like that game ended perfectly. Respect the hell out of the guts they had to make such a great call. Giving Sony what they want, while remaining creatively original
I get the idea of wanting more of a character's story, but that's also how we got convoluted histories for Big Boss and Snake, as an example. Sometimes it's better to just move on.
It's crazy...all Ubisoft has to do is listen to the majority of their fan base and they would get a slam dunk! But nope! They keep trying to appeal to the twitter crowd who don't even buy games to begin with.
These companies like Ubi Soft have been shooting layups for too long and more concerned with review companies versus player feedback. This is a fallacy for a lot of companies and it has finally bit them in the butt
ubisoft will need to get comfortable with not getting game sales and their stock continuing to drop, after their executive said gamers will need to get comfortable not owning their games. You reap what you sow.
While I agree, I find it funny that Ubisoft gets smashed for saying what every other Publisher is already pushing silently. Soo... are you done supporting every other Publisher?
Sony allowed me to purchase a single 30th Anniversary Dual Sense controller today, after being queued for 90 friggin minutes.
I mean, I'm kinda happy that I got at least one controller at standard price, but then I'm also feeling like Sony's bitch because I had to jump through all their hoops. Again.
The first really interesting controller/console design and they make it limited af. That's so annoying. Same with the Astro Bot controller. (Didn't get one of those, btw) Why can't they just make enough so everyone who wants one has a fair chance. Fuck me for having to work and not being there during the 5 minutes the controller was available, I guess.
I think it's Re-fan-TAHZ-ee-oh.
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary sold out. People have no problems paying $1000+ for a console. They are already selling for over $3000 on ebay.
It never even crossed my mind that Lunar wouldn't get a physical release. At least there is one, but still sucks that I can't just walk into a store and grab it
I’m excited to play Echoes soon (got mine yesterday but don’t have time straight away to play), so happy Metaphor is on PS4 too and am curious to try Lunar, never heard of them before!

To anyone wondering: The Metaphor demo is roughly 4-5 hours and well worth the asking price of FREE. I played a few hours yesterday and it’s very fun so far, it’s an Atlus rpg tho so expect an hour or so of cutscenes before you really get started but once you do it might be one of their best RPGs yet!!!
I'm super curious if you secured a 30th anniversary, anything.
I got through the cue, but wasn't able to secure a controller :/

Its nice that Lunar is getting some love!
Can you imagine if all games went digital only and then in 6-8 months release a collecter physical copy
I think it'd be great if physical copies were released after the last DLC is released, that way the entire game, including DLC and any patches, can be on the disc.
Discs are just inconvenient licence keys now. A delay so all the patches are on disc would give them back some purpose.
Put 5 hours into the Metaphor demo so far and have really been liking it. Started out on PC for the first 90 min then played the next 4 hours into it on deck. With proper settings I locked the game at 30 fps and it was solid except one area with a ton of NPCs and it dropped to 22fps. I'm leaning steam for this game, however since it is play anywhere on xbox it has me considering that as well.

sony says games will now output at 60 frames a second and support 8k for the ps5 pro but remember one crucial thing that all depends on the games themselves and how they are made to output it just can’t upscale that way if it’s not made with that resolution
The movie or whatever other media they decide to expand The Ghost franchise out can further expand on Gins story
The Metaphor demo is about 5 hours long. It runs fine on the Steam Deck, but its definitely not perfect.

Can't wait to see the fornite style mansion building montages in Echoes of wisdom
I don't think there are many public libraries that have video games. There are some rental services like GameFly, but they still charge a fee.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 They're all physical
