I had a 46. Had a Ford 302 ci V8 with a 750 cf eldy carb. 3 1/2 in oval tube dual exhaust wt flow masters. Custom bumpers and push guard that really worked. And 35 in ground hogs with rearc springs. You have to modify the fire wall and floor for the motor and trans. Extend the nose about 1/34 inches and reset the dish for the water pump pulley. And definitely put in a heavy rear drive line. Schedule 120 wall works best because it’s short. And top it off with your full cage roll bar and 5point harness. Dam near killed me too. Throttle stuck open. Let someone else work on it and they removed the choke rod and upper plate. It Let the butterfly plate tab rotate over so when I stood on it. The linkage went past the tab and wouldn’t let it come back when I took my foot off. Moral of the story is: Make sure you take your time and check your work. Sometimes it’s the littlest things that kill people!! Broke my neck!
4 DEGREES SHIM/2 PIECES www.amazon.com/dp/B000CNBT00?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share They are 2 inches wide I think I had to machine some off each side to get them down to 1.75”
They look nice but the amount of machining and weight, ouch. Another idea is just flip the u-bolts. There are kits for ~$200 an end but with new U-bolt you can do it for less than $100 total with all new u-bolts.
Thank you! I don’t have a video specifically on the disk brake install. In my studded knuckle upgrade video I show how the caliper brackets are installed. I also have 2 videos dedicated to plumbing the brakes. Hope this helps!
You’re right if you torque u bolts down you should never reuse them. I never torqued these down but I ended up buying the correct length and swapped them out. Thanks for watching!
Love the videos, but if you need calculator to divide by two maybe working on a vehicle should be done by others. I’m sure you can, but if you can’t don’t work on something you drive.
No good re-threading those U bolts. If you look close you'll see the original thread is larger diameter than the new thread you put on there due to the way those U bolts have been made. That modification you did would be OK on old style U bolts but is downright dangerous on those.
I noticed the threads on the u bolt were formed and not cut. They are fine thread and everything tightened up good. I probably will order the correct length before I hit the road. Thank you for watching!
i"m wondering about threading those u-bolts they are usually rolled threads and do not have enough meat on them to extend the threads with a die
You’re correct that was just temporary. I bought the correct length u bolts and replaced all the ones I modified. Thank you for your comment!
@@SevenBarSalvage nice, enjoying the build BTW, great job
@@barrythompson8656 Glad to hear it!
Interesting adaptions Can't wait till my CJ3B frame is freed from the snowbank!
Looks very nice!!!!! You do great work. You gave me some information I needed. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!

Dang that’s crazy! You’re right always do things the right way. I bought new u bolts and replaced them all. Thank you for watching!
One of your best!!!
Thank you!
a longer spring bolt to go through the shim and into your axle to stop the axle from shifting
I didn’t show that in the video but I did get longer pins! Good catch!
@@SevenBarSalvage any link to the ones you used? do you know the shim degrees also?

Transfer case angle should match. Rear should be 2 degrees lower to allow for axle torque reaction.
I just got a digital angle finder so now I can confirm correct driveshaft angle. Thank you!
Greetings from Croatia. Keep up the good work! 💪
Will do! Thank you for watching!
Another Great video!!!!
Thank you!!
Looks really good, might do something like that with my Scout once I get the rest of it sorted out
Thank you!
Looking good! I wish there was a 3 and 4 link like Icon 4x4 put in their cj3b. Really tight tolerances given the short wheelbase.
That would be cool! I’ve seen people do it but you’re right it’s right!
Nice video. I look good ideas from you and put them into practice.
Can you tell me please where you finds this spacers.???
I appreciate it!

Your input angle need to be the same as out put or you will get driveline vibration
Agreed, since the 4 speed swap I’m going to have to modify/make new driveshafts and I will be addressing this. Thank you!
looking good
Thank you!
Looks alot like a product Brennan Metcalf sells. But his are threaded for shock bolts
I’ve not seen any like these on the market! I’ll have to look, thanks!
Bro! I have a ‘52…I’d love to get the file for the skid plates !

The machining was a lot but it stripped away most of the weight. They look dang cool! I’ll have to look into that, thanks!

What brand of kit did you use? I’ve never seen a caliper bracket like yours
@@mikepyatt5424 Google "Brennans garage". And Seven Bar Salvage has an earlier video on them. Good price and no welding and very available parts.

where did you get the spring center pin? What length did you get ? Thanks
I’ve not hunted down any longer ones yet I just welded on extensions to the ones I have for the moment… I’ll update you if I find any!
How can i get a cad model of the Willys Jeep high clearance u-bolt skid plates? Thank you

can you make some for a Dana 60 axle ?? im put Dana 60 axles under my willys with 4 inch springs
is there a way to make it some thew nut sits up in there and you use a socket to tighten it so no threads hang below the new bracket ?? thanks
More leafs in the pack the easier that would be! I can share my current print?
Gotta be careful reusing Ubolts they are designed to stretch as you tighten the nuts so when you go to reuse them they have been weakened
You’re right if you torque u bolts down you should never reuse them. I never torqued these down but I ended up buying the correct length and swapped them out. Thanks for watching!
No. Absolutely wrong on your statement.
i would be soooo gratefull if you could email those specs ! Ty so much truely appreciate it

i guess i dont understand , cant you buy any truck spring you want and just cut them down.
You might could if you found the correct main leaf and spring rate, but I don’t think it would be cost effective
@@SevenBarSalvage i presume that is in a spec for that jeep ?
Correct
