Hi I had a question. The Matimba male lions had cubs in the Nukhuma, Styxt and Torchwood pride like the Birmingham’s male lions. Is there still Matimba daughters in the Torchwood pride? I am curious about the lioness’s that are with the half brothers of the Plain camp male lions. I wanted to know about how many lionesses are daughters of the Birmingham’s.

These are the type of stories I have great difficulty dealing with, & while I want to watch her & about her life, I hesitate. I'll try & see how far I get, probably having to skip over some of it. But thank you for honoring her. She was beautiful.
What a beautiful Queen and an amazing story with it. Such a hard life for the wild lions. So sorry I couldn't chat while this was premiering. I was bawling the whole time. She was such an amazing warrior, mother, sister, Auntie, protector and Queen. I got through some of it so I could understand the dynamics but skipped some & am feeling kind of nauseous from the whole situation. Hers is not the only tragedy that has been ongoing for thousands of yrs., & there have been a couple of heartbreaking deaths over the last couple of yrs., but when it's put into story situation like this it makes it real & it is more than heartbreaking. It would be nice if nature would have cut back on some of the violence of these animals. People always say "this is nature, it's life, you need to accept it." I know it will never be different or better but my nature is such that it never has & never will make sense to me. You are able to see the goodness in Chela's face; she had a look that evoked a combination of strength, kindness, & caring. Thank you for this.

I went into the circumstances of her death in the last update in April. There is no real proof that the PCM did it, as I said there were other lions in the area as well.
She was the one who brought me into the wild. I started watching WE right in 2016 and remember all that😍I am sure she had a very nice life for the wild. I wonder how many lionesses are in the pride now. Are there any males with the pride? I know Blondie has passed and Mohawk is mostly with his sons. Stopped following a while ago. Thanks.
Two Birmingham daughters who were born in 2016 are still alive. Their offspring 3F/1M are 3y old and on the brink of adulthood. There are also 2 daughters of Amber Eyes, born in 2019. Currently the pride is in turmoil due to the many coalitions roaming the north, which is also most likely the reason why Chela got killed. I'll give monthly updates on the pride dynamics, so if you want to catch up, this is a good place to do so. The next update for the month of May is scheduled for Friday June7th.

Then the Birmingham daughters had cubs and the Chela again went with the sub adults when the Mohawk male lion left with his sons? Chela left with the sub adults twice? Then later the sub adults were also with Chela?
No, Chela mated with the Avoca like Amber did, since both had no cubs with the Birminghams. The Birmingham daughters were shy of 3y and stayed with their mothers and were pretty much accepted by the Avoca, only the two young males were not welcomed, thats why Nana broke away. In 2021 the Birmingham daughters were almost 5y old when they had their first set of cubs. Actually they then broke away in April/ May 2021 from the core pride because of the young cubs. Also, in mid 2021 the PCM arrived and went after the core pride with the subs. They killed one of Amber's daughters and that's when Amber and Ridge Nose took the initiative to mate with them. As a consequence they got pregnant and left. Chelas was always with the subadults it's just that first the Birmingham daughters left the pride, then Amber and Ridge Nose and then Purple Eye died.
Hi thank you. I get confused. With the Nulhuma pride it seems there were always lions and lionesses that would come and leave. I do not know if you have ever seen a video where there was confusion about the Nukhuma male lions with the Nukhuma pride but they were somewhere else. Then it was suspected it was the Talamatie pride with them too or the Talamatie male lions. I did not know the Birmingham daughters split. What a lovely lioness was Chela may she rest and wish the best to her son and all the Nukhumas.
