    I still cry every time I think about Chela. I had finally stopped crying over Tattered Ear and then Chela got killed. She had a special place in my heart and the way I just balled my eyes out in this video you would think she was my personal cat that I lost or something. I miss her and hate she is gone. I just hope the rest of the pride will stay safe and no more deaths. The Nks were/are just as special to me as the Talamati Breakaways.

      I can understand it's crazy how we get so attatched to them, it makes no difference that we have never even seen them in person. It makes no difference if we are half away around the world and only saw them thru someone else's lens. It only matters that we took the time to get to know them that we followed them all the years, every day looking to see how they are and where they are at and that they are OK. There is still a closeness we connect we with them because we do care what happens. Their pain becomes our pain, their happiness become our happiness. So yeah I get it and understand.

    Geez, 8 young males in the kambula pride? They’re gonna be tough to feed, but very formidable if they make it to adulthood.

    I love learning about lions and their families. It's so hard to see any of them die, because they start to feel like my family. I know it's nature and people can't interfere with them but I wish it was set up and funded so lions could get medical help when needed, and even food or water if extreme conditions existed. In any case, thank you for these videos, the narrator's voice is wonderful.

    I wonder what happened in the West with the Othowa pride. The two young Othowa lionesses split from each other. Then the Tumbela male lion is now with the Nukhuma male lion in the South of Sabi Sands. It makes sense they are in the South where there is more lionesses. The Styxt lionesses are there, but is thought that they were both with or around the Sand River lionesses. I would not like to think bad, but in the video where the Tumbela male lion is roaring, and the Nukhuma male lion starts roaring; it looks like he is not as sure when roaring like the Tumbela male lion.

  • @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm
    @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm 4 місяці тому +1

    I did not know the story of Chela; hope the Nukhuma pride could strong and together. Tattered ear was Chelas half sister? Is she daughter of Birmingham male lions ? Wouldn’t Ridge nose and purple eye daughters of Matimbas all half sisters? May they all rest Ridge nose, purple eye, tattered ear, and Chela.
    How many adult lioness are in the Nukhuma pride? How many Birmingham daughters are there? What lioness were with the Kambula male lion? What lioness’s were with the young Talamatie male lion?

    • @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743
      @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743  4 місяці тому +1

      Chela and Tattered Ear have the same mother (Nana). Chela is a Matimba daughter and TE is a Birmingham daughter.
      Right now there are 4 adults lionesses and 3 subadult lionesses, I'll put a family tree in the next video which features Chela.
      Ridge Nose daughter was seen on Apr 28, mating with the PCM.
      The groupings of the Nkuhumas kept changing over several days, but the Talamati was mostly with the subs

    • @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm
      @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm 4 місяці тому

      Thank you for the video. May they all rest. The Nukhuma lionesses looked always like a bigger and stronger lionesses together. I think about when Mohawk and his brothers rip were trying to bond and spend time with the Kambula lionesses. Mohawks brother now resting; I read may had met many other male lions and once the Ndhzenga male lions came the Northern Avoca male lions went back to the north and with the Lionesses and their cubs. They spend more time with their cubs and sub adults. I just did not know the story of Chela and the Nukhuma lionesses.

    WHERE IS THE BIRMINGHAM PRIDE ?

  • @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm
    @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm 4 місяці тому

    The Styxt lioness the Birmingham daughter is only 7 years old? Has the Styxt lioness daughter of the Birmingham male lions; does she have sub adult cubs? From the 6 sub adults from the Styxt pride are any of them son or daughter of the Styxt lioness Birmingham daughter?

    • @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743
      @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743  4 місяці тому +1

      The Birmingham daughter gave birth to 3 cubs in Feb/Mar 2021 along with the Majingilane daughter who had 4 cubs. I don't know which one of the subs are hers, but I do know that from the youngest litter of 4, born in June (Rollercoaster daughter) , only one female is still alive, which means some of the subadults are her offspring.

    • @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm
      @GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm 4 місяці тому

      I had always thought the young male lion was son of the Rollercoster lioness. Is the young male lion son of the Birmingham daughter? I did not know she was that young. The Styxt lioness had cubs at 4 years of age? The Southern lionesses that recently had cubs are also 4 years of age?

    • @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743
      @allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743  4 місяці тому +1

      The young Styx male is either the son of the Birmingham daughter or of the Majingilane daughter. He is one of the slightly older subs. The RC daughter has only 1 daughter left, who is the youngest. You're right, the SP lionesses will turn 4y in September.

      Yes, Chela's son is the youngest of the 3 Nkuhuma males, depicted in this clip. He recently moved with his father Mohawk and his 2 brothers back into Kruger, unfortunately I couldn't get any recent footage of them for the April update.
