- In 2012 Makulu, Pretty Boy and Mr. T got under pressure of four young Selati males who had been motivated to challenge the Mapogo, by mating with one of the Ximunghwe lionesses who had lost her cubs in October 2011.
Many questions remained as to why Mr. T faced the Selati males all by himself, yet as reported by a reliable source he made the choice to face his opponents.
Makulu and Pretty Boy who got away unharmed, left and turned south to challenge the Kruger males.

Another great Video. What a legendary Lion Makhulu was! As mysteriously as he appeared to the Sparta pride in the beginning, he saw it all to the end and vanished without trace
Apparently sabi sands released news years ago that makhulu was actually buried, and rumor has it that after mr t died a ranger took his body and he was also buried, not sure how true it is about mr t but makhulu was definitely buried,

@@judyparsons1333 hi, it’s nice for someone too also confirm that, it came out quite a few years ago about makhulu being buried and sabi released that information I had heard of mr t being buried by a ranger but apparently it was done in secret as the reserve didn’t want him buried at all , but I never seen anything official stating that so I was never too sure what too think about mr ts burial, thank you for that information,

What an amazing series you put together. I watched the first episode back when you first started this channel and commented then. Ive followed the lions of Sabi Sands for years. Seen every documentary, read as many forums as I could find. It became a passion that me and my wife still follow to this day. None of those sources were as informative as your videos. Your knowledge on these lions and their lineage is bar none. Hell all of your videos and info on even the current prides is astounding. Its people like you that make the lives of these lions magical to the rest of us. Please continue with your videos every couple weeks. Its become a great exciting anticipation waiting for the next one. My wife and I are very thankful.

I find it hard to understand why Makulu and PB wouldn’t follow mr T into battle, surely human intervention has to be at play there
Male lions are not battle tanks. At an age where PB and Makhulu were,which lions would have fought 4 young male lions who were peaking? Any lions you know of who fought at 14 and 12 years old?

But as far as the Age thing, that never bothered the Mopogos in any way. Makulu and PB even older fought younger stronger lions and won. They were different

Us who have been around foe this for years know. Sans parks investigation etc Mopogos were sold out. Only PB and Maku lived through it. Tranked T which led to Kinky tails death, Sold Rasta and Dreadlocks to trophy hunters etc
@@tyrannicaltypomichaeltester 😂😂😂 I have certainly followed lions for far longer than 5 years. I actually live close to The Kruger and greater Kruger parks and have had the privilege of seeing these big,wild cats in their elements. So I'm not just someone who follows lion dynamics on the internet.
Do you have any proof of what you're saying? Tangible or in writing? Besides, I'm specifically talking about the Selatis and the two aged Mapogos. I'm not interested in the Rasta and Dreadlocks saga.
Even when mr t back was broken and he had a hole on his back. His face didn’t have any scratches or wounds on it he must have been on hell of a warrior/fighter. If pretty boy wouldn’t have been injured i know they would have been able to push the young southern males out.
The end of a Great Saga , nothing could stop Mapogos except ....time and human malice.......! But they were stronger even by them......, their memory survived and their glory every day is raising.......! Only a subtle remark......MT wasn't exactly chased , he initially slowly retreated and Selatis follow him suit in the same pace ! Suddenly and unexplainably if we accept rangers' stupidities, he decided to ......suicide........

It is great advance that the video acknowledges that the conditions of Mapogos demise are dubious! We had to live during a decade watching videos repeating rangers' nosense ! Now many people like here acknowledge thatvwhat happened to Mapogos wasn't normal.....! It' s a great progress.....

I couldnt understand why Mak and PB left Mr.T and flee from Selatis that morning..They are in their teritory and this Selatis is too young for them.. 3vs4 I think they can win that fight..

Great relaxing videos!! Still no actual proof Mak n Pretty boy were there when Mr T went down!! The rangers say that but they also say the battle n beating lasted over what 6 hours or more but yet we don't see whole video!! So until I see actual proof I don't believe Mak n Pretty boy took off!! I truly believe if they were there they would of fought beside their lil Bro!! Can't trust all the ranger reports without video evidence!! They can literally make anything up!!

Hi! I was wondering if you could do a video on the history of the southern pride? For more context the southern that’s control by the Gijima males. I know at one point the southern pride was one of the biggest prides in the sabi sands.
Yes they were a big pride in 2017 with 5 lionesses and 12 cubs ruled by the Charlston males. When the males moved into Kruger and the pride lost protection, they slowly declined until in April 2020 , when there was only one lioness left. She is the only Charlston daughter that survived.
I'll put the history of the Southern pride on my to do list to give more context.
How many cubs were killed by lions,in this story?Something seems off.
The Selati killed the last 4 Ximunghwe cubs and the last of the Othawa subadults (second Gen.), both sired by the Mapogo.
Sad story of this coalition, they was destroyed by greedy humans interference, all about money tourist and safari tickets
D après les rangers et d autres personnes présentes, le. Combat à duré des heures, je voudrais comprendre comment de nombreuses personnes présentes ont pu rater le début du combat, la vidéo la plus longue du combat est celle où on peut voir mrt est déjà paralysé, et gravement blessé pourquoi ne pas avoir filmé tout le combat et surtout le début du combat, ils ont filmé ce qu ils voulaient, comme par hasard, et tu as raison, le cadavre de mrt a été emporté, comme celui de kinky tail, tous les lions qui se font tues,sont laissés sur place, je n ai jamais entendu que des rangers ont emporté d autres lions ,pourquoi juste kinky tail et mrt, c est très bizarre, en prenant le corps de kinky tail et de mrt, ils étaient sur que d autres personnes n allaient pas regarder d un peu plus prêt, tu sais quand on drogue un animal il y a toujours des traces dans le sang, c est une explication comme une autre, de toute façon tout est trouble, avec les mapogos, je crois bien sur, que des personnes ont tout fait pour affaiblir ces lions.
Also the consensus is that K1 and K4 are Good Teeth Mangheni daughters, both the elder Kambulas who have died.
Interestingly enough the K6 male lion looks like his Super Mom grandmother to some degree, but none of the other three Kambula males from Sabi Sands do, K3, K4 and K5.
Edit: the 2023 Ndhzenga cub by the Ntsevu who joined the Kambula pride, the survivor of 3, was the son of K3 not K2. K3 had two litters of 3 back to back after she lost contact with her cubs that joined the core pride. K2 has no cubs by the Ndhzengas so far.
Thanks for sharing the info about K4. You're right, the adopted cub belongs to K3. I'll update the family trees accordingly.
Edit: I checked the ID's of the mothers again. K3 was the mother of the 2 young Birmingham daughters who were killed in Feb and May 2023.
K2 had been seen mating with the Ndzengha early December 2022 and the 3 cubs were born in late March/April, so the mother was indeed K2.

I had thought I read recently the other Kambula lioness had maybe recently have cubs, and that is not confirmed but suspected. Yes you are saying the lioness that had her 3 cubs go with their relatives then had more cubs? That seems it happened fast. I wonder what happened to the other cubs maybe they all rest in peace.
Was K2 the lioness that had split with her sub adults the last youngest daughters of the Birmingham’s I believe? Who were the lionesses that had split?
@GuillermoOchoa-vy5pm K3 was the mother of the 2 subadult Birmingham daughters. K2 and K3 had split from the core pride to protect them from the Ndzengha.
Anyone who is of the opinion that there was human intervention,simply because Makhulu and Pretty Boy did not fight the Selatis,must have little knowledge about lion dynamics. A 14 year old male like Makhulu is way out of his Prime years. The best he could do at that age is to intimidate rivals with roars,but to engage in a fight at that age,I have not known any lion across Africa to do so. They invariably vacate their territory,if not caught and killed. Pretty Boy at 12 was also past his prime. More so,he was quite injured already and in no shape to fight. Some of these things one has to apply logic to. The fact that Makhulu still managed to fight and mortally wound the Kruger male is testament to the phenomenal male he was.
Never i understood people who try to explain facts with .....theory when there is......History! All this theoretical description is ......useless because History refuted it! Only a month before MT's death , Mak and MT both by completely alone .....dispelled ..... five Selatis easily and saved PB who was trapped and almost dead! Enough with nonsensical theories! Learn History.....! Selatis were nothing for the Mapogo duo and this time would have had PB' aid although he wasn't absolutely ready.....! Why you try to .....invent explanation when History answered clearly? It is terrible i met (in YT) even a .....writer and expert (he presents himself as adept!) who spoke the same unserious stories!!! OK ......it was.....impossible if you choose to believe that but Mak and MT proved that they ......achieved the impossible.....! Admit it......and learn from them.....

It's worth mentioning that nobody knows how Limper Kruger died, but he was seen with Freddy in great shape after the clash with Mapogos who had nothing to do with his death.
Edit: Mala Mala claims PB was born in January 2001.
I seen a diffrent story were makulu went after limper himself while freddy was of patrolling and gave him a bad beaten and he was found a few days later dead

There's a compilation of all ranger reports on Wildfact regarding the Kruger-Mapogo interactions and they are clear, the Kruger males had the upper hand and always chased and beat the Mapogos off.
Aftr the last clash, both Kruger males were seen by Londolozi in top shape, one with a bloody nose. While Makhulu was fleeing with serious injuries.
Nobody knows what killed Limper, it could even have been a snake bite or a buffalo, not even lions.
