One legged squats (10 each leg)
One legged squats touch side (10 each leg)
Supermans (5 sets of 10 seconds each leg)

This is really great to practice while wearing your skates! It can be applied just as wonderfully for figure skaters as hockey players in my opinion, seeing as I've improved so much on ice from this alone!

The single-leg squat was hell on my knee.

sit back over then shin...in the video hes wayyyyy over the font foot putting alot of pressure on the knee. Not a good way of doing it, could blow your knee out easily.

I just did all these today, and did the supermans on that nice bosu ball behind you. It really really helps build both stability and strength. I noticed that i could go up stairs 2 or 3 steps at a time with a lot more strength in the hip/leg. Nice!

Does it make sense to do this exercises in ice skates - to get a better feeling for the skates? - I just started ice skating, but I have a few problems with balancing in the skates!

That can't hurt! It's good to change it up.

If you don't have easy ice, this works on rollerblades. Can be a little exciting at times!

I think it’s because about becoming a better hockey player while off the ice, something he is very qualified to speak about.
