I have a few 2021/2022 Frame TVs and the OneConnect cables are extremely thin and carry power to the TV at the same time. I took a quick look and looks like they've upped the voltage carried on the one connect cable to 350 volts to be able to use a very thin conductor to carry the needed 290 watts.
Did you happen to see the WiFi card, where the antenna may be? Is it in the One Connect box, I don’t see it here. Wondering if the cable is possibly used as the antenna on either end or if it’s in the TVs
WiFi and Bluetooth is on a small board that is in the TV part. The aerials are on that board. Here is an example of that board: twitter.com/ElectricElecami/status/1525841238330683392
I have the 2022 QLED 8K 75" Samsung with this connect box. 5 months in it stopped turning on. No red standby light on either. If you try turning the power on there is a clicking sound coming from the one connect box and the standby light will come on sometimes blink but black screen, no sound or video. I put a light to the screen and could not see anything coming on. Any idea what it could be?? Samsung will not honor the 12 month manufacturer warranty stating I did not buy it from an authorized Samsung reseller (they will look for any loophole took them two weeks of back and forth to tell me that).
Difficult to know. Probably power supply problem. Could be in the One connect box or the TV. Would need to find working parts to swap around and find where the problem is.
So I watched the vid. Unfortunately, with the latest 8K Neo QLED lineup, even if you decide to purchase the longer, more expensive cable separately, your options are very limited for this new One Connect "Pro" Box. The only upgrade that Samsung offers is the same thick cable, but 5m long max. No 10m, 15m, no fiber options available. Having a cable like this at least 7.5m long would really help me out with the setup I am working on. As far as I understand extending this new cable would be difficult to say the least, i.e. because of degraded signal. I wonder if there is a way to built something custom, like extend it with some signal strengthening method in the middle?...
I don't think it is practical to extend an electrical cable yourself. The issues with multi gigabits per second data signal integrity are too difficult to overcome. It would take a lot of work to build a custom extender and get it working reliably. More than the value of the TV if you had to pay someone to do it. I am surprised the 5m option is electrical and not fiber. For 8K signal that would be very difficult to achieve. It is much different to fiber where if you got the splice good, there is not much else to worry about.
Not sure. Would depend what type of click it is. A relay operating?, Switch mode power supply current limit? Need to try it with a different One Connect box.
Hey! I have an 800b 75" with this same One Connect box. I have noticed that when I am running it at 4k 120 the one connect box gets hot (I measured it at 128 F) after about 5 hours of use. Does this seem normal to you? Does it run hot and I am just noticing it because it is out front as opposed to behind the display?
I have no idea, I've not experience one running, I just have the On Connect Box that I got in a lot of other random junk. The older one connect boxes I have used get quite warm. I had it sitting up on the edge because I thought that would help with airflow though the vents. The outer surface is used to dissipate the heat, the best you could do is have a small fan blowing at it.
@@elissonjimenez32 I am not sure. It would be custom made for this. You'd have to contact samsungparts.com/ or local equivalent and ask. If there are service manuals you can probably work it out from the exploded views and parts list.
Hi I have a qn800 TV with a similar one connect box. At first out of no where I got double image even on home screen. Resetting from the hub and the service menu did not work it appeared during the setup as well I unplugged and plugged it back after a month. But this time it took a while for the double image to form at the bottom. I was wondering if the TCON cable is loose or something. I would really like your opinion please.
Maybe an intermittent connection in the panel, board or a cable as you suggest. Could open it up and poke things around and reseat connectors. Being mindful of the high voltage. Warranty replacement would be better or a service person then it is up to them to open it up without breaking the glass.
Assuming that this thing is overheating during playing games in 4k (connected to a PC) to the point that it start giving frequent random black screen moments during the gaming sessions, lasting 2-3 seconds each, which are very anoying, what would you do to help cooling it down? I was thinking about attaching two USB turbine fans on the left side of it to blow some air inside it to cool it down, but I am not sure which component exactly is causing the black screens when it overheats so I can focus the air flow on it.. Any ideas..?
Could try fans blowing in the vents to see if that helps. If the screen is going blank it could also be the power supply in the TV part that is causing that. Power supply fault like dried out capacitors. In that case colling is not going to make it better.
@@Elecami I had a 49" curved 4k Samsung before this one, with a much smaller one-connect box, which had the exact same problem. And I attached a laptop side cooler on the box, which extracts the air from inside and pulls out, and it worked like a charm. I'm just curious which part that heats causes the blackouts, to focus the blow on it. I can put it on the one connect box, but definitely I can't put a vent on the back of the tv itself.
@@annacondasnakes I don't have any experience with cooling helping that type of issue. From what I have seen it is a power supply problem or it is a signal quality problem. E.g. HDMI cable or adapter is poor quality, not connected well or worn out,

Have tried to get it repaired through SAMSUNGS service agent, and there been no reply now for 2 weeks. Repeated online chat with service and nothings been done. Positive its the one connect box malfunctioning. Anyone know what to do? Do I replace the box, if so, who sells them?
Seems likely a power supply issue. I can't say if it would be in the box or the TV part. Could also be bad connection of one connect cable. What is the name of the cable you disconnected? Trying to find one online to replace my current one.
The One Connect cable? Or something internal?
Internal. The first cable you disconnected when you opened the one connect. At about 10:25 mark.
