35:10 I think Jupiter couldn't appear in the packs because it was in your shop. Only one of a planet card can exist at a time, so if there's one in your shop, it won't be in the packs unless you buy it first. Similarly if you're holding a planet you won't find that planet in packs/shops, so you can hold bad planets if you have space to make good planets show up more.

you can find cards again, but only one at a time. Think of them as individual decks, I think it's specially intuitive with tarot cards: there's only one copy of each card in a deck - if you have it in your hand or it's already on the table, you can't draw it from the top of the deck. That is, unless you have the joker that allows duplicates to show up.

@@powerlifting1012Also a tip from me, if you've broken your banana then showman can go insane to get multiple cavendishes, they're a common so it's honestly not even hard to get three of them if you need some good jokers

When I first used bloodstone I thought it was god-tier, but the amount of times I've completely lost runs because it never triggers has me passing on it every time now

And if you're wondering about bloodstone, the probability of it not triggering at all is 32/243, or about 13%. It's a lot higher than I thought.

@@gaben.1422 It's literally not. As I said, the mathematical operation I mentioned before is an inclusive or function, meaning it covers for the event where both trigger that you're talking about. What you're saying I'm talking about is the exclusive or function, which uses the same formula except you multiply the second half of the formula by 2, so that would be 3/8. It's not that complicated. Learn what words mean.
@@RalorPenwat uhh no chief, let me dumb it down for you: imagine you are rolling two 4-sided dice. 16 possible outcomes. how many 1s would you expect to get? how many 2s? how many 3s? how many 4s? now add those four results up. or just divide TWO dice by FOUR faces and you can easily see that you will on average get 0.5 of each 1-in-4 outcome.
People compare video games to drugs often, but in the case of Balatro I think it's the most true:

so I play on the console version and the odds of some cards are different than the pc version, space joker is 1 in 5 on console instead of 1 in 4.......given the inconsistencies of some of the chance cards, I wonder if they messed up somewhere

I'm not good at Balatro, NL has definitely beaten more runs than me, played more of the game than me, and gotten better hands than I can. I'm sure he knows what he's doing. But I still cringe when I see him not even consider skipping blinds when The Pillar is the boss.
