    Gas or cordless?

Cordless without a doubt, for everyone except pros or those doing an excessive amount of cutting on a regular basis. I’ve felled 8 average -large trees between the brushless 18v 12 in ryobi and the 40v 14in chainsaw. Couldn’t deal with gas ever again

The massive state-wide professional tree service that our power company hires to come trim the trees every year? All their guys in the bucket trucks had cordless chainsaws.
That's what made me make the switch.
As a homeowner who uses a saw a couple times a year, I'll never consider going back after making the switch. I'll probably clean up my older gas ones and give them away to anyone I like who wants them, or sell them cheap online if I can't find any takers.

@@russellborrego1689 that’s interesting. Did you happen to notice the brand? I honestly wouldn’t expect pros that use them all day to be using cordless. They must have more than a few batteries…. What state? (if you don’t mind me asking)

Thank you Chris for your upload and review! I just purchased the same chainsaw the other day at Home Depot taking a chance with it. I had seen 3 guys cutting trees on the bike trail where my wife and I walk and they had the exact same chainsaw. I had asked them how it worked and they said great so I took the plunge the other day and got the Ryobi 18in 40v and cut some limbs in my backyard and it cut like a hot knife through butter! I am very pleased with it. It was $349 at Home Depot but I got a military discount and ended up paying with tax out the door $334. I used to have a small pulan wildthing back in 07 when I had a microburst come through and wiped out 2 huge maple trees in my backyard and I used that chainsaw every day after work and cut those trees. I tried starting that chainsaw but it wouldn’t work and took it to get it fixed and found out the gas had rotted out stuff inside the gas tank so I figured I’m done dealing with gasoline chainsaws for as much as I use them which is rarely. I like this chainsaw cuz you don’t have to worry about gas oil mix or spark plugs etc. anyway thanks for the upload. I love my new chainsaw!!!

In Home Depot watching this video because a storm blew down half a tree in my backyard last night. Thanks for the video.

I used the 18inch at my cabin this weekend and i absolutely love it. Just being able to constantly pick it up and put it down without dealing with the gas is worth it. I cut and split a ton of good firewood i scavenged from my property. Good times.

bought same model in april and love it, it was leaking the chain & bar oil, but now that you mentioned tightening the screw after using it save's me oil,

    Good insightful review.
One review rated this Ryobi 18 incher as being faster then the Milwaukee 16 inch Fuel battery chainsaw.
One other review said that while this Ryobi 18 inch battery chainsaw is excellent, the EGO 18 incher has the edge in superiority.
Keep up the good work with the videos coming!

Good video, but using some eye protection while using the chainsaw would be a really good idea!

Love the idea of electric/cordless battery powered. We live out of town and it always seemed we were out of gas or gas was old just when we needed to use a chainsaw most.

Yes it really nice chain saw at advertisement of 18" But in reality from the plastic teeth for the case stop area its only 16" bar.... Fact: If you really want 18" bar you need 20" bar to get 18" Usage from the teeth case stopper to tip bar, (Measure it you be surprised 😮. )
