Great videos!!! This has helped me greatly. My daughters and I are planning a trip next May and your videos have really helped in my research. Thanks so much!
These videos are so so so helpful! So my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Cuba and I wanted to ask where is the best beach to go to with a younger nightlife close by. I've read that the nightlife around Varadero is not the best.
Hey thanks for stopping again :) Varadero has some really nice beaches but it's mostly a resort town and yes, it doesn't have the best night life. The town in Varadero is also really small because it's mostly dominated by the resorts. If you're looking for a lively nightlife, Havana definitely has better options.
This was super helpful info question ... I'm staying in Havana and want to go to varadero for a couple of days . How do you recommend I get there and which hotel or casa did you stay at ? Thanks in advance !!!!
+vickie sanchez hey just seeing this! Sorry about that. I would recommend that you take the bus or private taxi (it's more expensive though). Varadero is a popular destination spot and sometimes the buses sell out. Nonetheless, there are frequent buses that do go to varadero so you should be fine. Just be sure to plan out your trip. Unfortunately, I didn't stay at a casa while in varadero since it was the last leg of mg 3 week backpacking trip. By the time my boyfriend and I got to varadero, we were exhausted lol so we stayed at the Iberostar Resort which is super nice but also expensive. We splurged at the end for two days before coming back to the states. I hope this helps!
I´m going to Cuba soon and I want to stay at an Airbnb too. Which Airbnb place did you go exactly. And would you recommend them? And how did you ensure that your "casas" at airbnb have an licence from the Cuban authority? (I read in the internet that if those casas don´t have that license you could get in trouble with the police..) Thanks in advance for answering my questions!
Hey Marie! See below for the casas I stayed at throughout my trip to Cuba. They're all licensed and I would recommend them to friends and family. Before booking them, I made sure that they all had great reviews and I even messaged a few ahead of time. Once you check in with your casa, they ask for your information so that they can fill out special forms required by Cuban law/government which hints at them also being licensed casas. The form asks for your travel information and passport information that they report daily to the Cuban Tourism agency which is a part of the government. Cuban Law requires that casas & hotels report all tourists who are staying with them. If not, they get in BIG trouble, which is why that form is a sign of them being legit. Most casas in Cuba also have a special sign outside of their door which is blue and white-- similar to the sign/logo on the special form that the house guest will have you fill out when you first arrive. I hope this helps! Hey Thanks for stopping by. All of the casas that I stayed at had American outlets. No need for an adaptor unless you want to bring one JUST IN CASE. I did this and I never had to use it. I hope this helps :)
Where to keep the cash? I mean, many like you, who went to Cuba, say to come with enough cash and change it at the airport. But if you don't have a five star hotel with a safe in the room, where do you keep this cash during your stay or from the airport to the accommodation? Thank you very much. Fabio S.
+Diana Rodriguez most of the beach front hotels are in varadero. I would recommend the Iberostar Resort. It's where I stayed for a few days and it was great
Can you recomend some casas in Vinales? do you know if we can rent a motorbike? we want to go to some nearby beaches while there, would you recommend to take a taxi? thanks :)
You should be able to travel solo to Cuba under People to People but I would double check since it's been about two years since I last traveled to Cuba :)
Another great video! I just booked my Casa particular this weekend. I'm getting excited about Cuba! Thanks for all your great advice.
Thanks for watching, love!!! Let me know how your trip goes :)
