I've been to Cuba 3 times. Love the Cuban people. The 3rd time there we rented a car and drove around the country. Not an easy thing to do. It's not covered by GPS, there's a lack of road signs and we were given a cartoon map. However the locals are very friendly and we would pickup hitchhikers (something we don't do in other countries). They would show us the way. They got a ride to their destination and we got directions. Win win for both parties.

(((((Picking up hitch hiker is dangerous)))))
We were in Cuba just 2 weeks ago, I was mesmerised with it. We were the only cruise ship in the port which is such a shame as our guide told us that our tour was only the second job that month for him. I wish Cuba and the Cuban people best wishes.

Retired Canadian here. Before covid, I spent from 4 to 8 weeks in Cuba every winter (spend a winter in Toronto and you would understand) . Cuba isn't perfect but from the standpoints of safety, friendly people, and just plain fun, I prefer it to the various Florida resort areas I have also enjoyed.
@@infjintegrityvsnarcissism7295 Just as a follow up, I once again returned to Cuba for 12 weeks in Feb. through April 2024. This time I went to the resorts on the many Cuban islands of the north shore of Cuba (Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria, Holquin etc. The weather is a bit cooler there but still warm enough for ocean swimming. Once again, I had a great time. Beautiful, sparkling clean beaches and ocean, great people. My father was born and raised in Cuba. He would tell me so many stories when he was growing up and how it made him feel about society and the environment itself.
As a American, i visited Cuba for the first time back in 2017 or 2018 when it was open for us to visit. As a son of a Cuban father, it has been curiosity to visit my father's homeland. This video brings back memories of my visit. What is crazy, it doesn't matter a time when people share their experience of Havana, nothing has not changed. Everything still looks the exact the same. Before I visited and after. I have nothing negative to say about Cuba and its people. It was an enjoying welcome to be there. Not only see and feeling the culture but to be educated in the history is what really draws me to this county. No doubt, I would visit again if I have the opportunity to.

My father in law is Cubano. We have been there in 2020 and I was shocked how destroyed this country is. Because we have family over there we have seen so much non-touristic places and have seen so much poverty. I remember this vacation incredibly well and it regularly helps me to look past the little problems in my life. Because since then I know how hard life can be. Even as “wealthy” Germans, on many days it was not possible for us to organize food or drink. Sometimes we searched supermarkets for water for days. We usually got a phone call when something was in stock somewhere and then we had to be quick. Now I hear the stories from my father in law that things are getting worse… hard to imagine to be honest! I hope that there will be some improvement for the Cubans soon, politically and economically!

I lived in Cuba for many years in childhood. My dad is Cuban-Chinese and went back to the island for an agriculture business... I remember really liking it. Lots of good food and my house had electricity, heat, running water. There were not many Chinese still on the island. Much love from USA!

The people are amazing, we wish the best for them ❤️ We are heading back into Cuba next month, and we are looking forward to touring around off the beaten path.
Cuba and its people are unique; Yes I mean to say one-of -a-kind! I have been to Cuba and have met and befriended many Cuban people in my life, mostly in the United States. In all my years travelling, and meeting so many nationalities, I must admit, Cubans to me are a people of enormous resilience, pride. strength and integrity. Certainly not a people that feel sorry for themselves. Thats for sure. Cuban people have experienced hardship for so long that even knowing life on this island nation is not easy, Cuban people have made the best with their given circumstances and have confronted many decades with simple understanding that this my home mentality. What we see (being non Cubans) as maybe hardship is simply normalcy for everday Cubans living their life in Cuba. Cuba, the island, of course, will undoubtably change over time like everywhere else, but the people will always remain unique in their strong sense of pride a and unlimited number of god given wonderfull traits. This world of ours can learn alot from this amazing island nation.

I think you should also explore other districts of the city besides Old havana and Centro Habana. Vedado and Playa are good options, less crowded and modern (by modern I mean from the 1950s instead of the colonial era).

I have been to Cuba twice. 1994 and 1998. Two wonderful and unforgettable vacations. Back then, there were virtually no Americans there and maybe that's what made the vacation so relaxing. There were lots of old American and Russian cars, old American cars with old Russian engines, cars with 4 different rims, lots of lovely people going about their hard everyday lives with a smile and Cuban pride. I flew to Cuba back then because it was actually clear that this Caribbean beauty would eventually also be full of Americans, envy and McDonald's restaurants. I was afraid that my wonderful memories from back then would be destroyed if I were to travel to Cuba again in 2024 or 2025. But the video is hardly any different from what I saw 30 years ago. It hasn't gotten any worse. It stayed the same bad. Thanks for the video

Before 1959 Cuba was a semi feudal society with workers living lives similar to slaves. Landowners often killed peasants for whatever reason they felt like. Workers did not have access to free education or health care. Nowadays Cubans have a greater literacy rate, life expectancy and are better fed than US equivalent averages
do you have sources for this? i’m asking cause i used to believe the same but i didn’t find a way to prove that many (especially black) cubans lived as serfs or sharecroppers, etc. i have found proof that a lot of them used to live in shanty towns which doesn’t necessarily contradict or negate the possibility of them still having to pay (out of what they earned) for the tools they used to work with at the plantation for example. just haven’t found anything concrete and i haven’t really heard anything like that from locals in the city or country side (i’m cuban born and raised). don’t doubt the possibility tho 🤷🏾♂️
about being better fed than the us, i’d definitely disagree. there are very few homeless people starving in the streets in cuba but scarcity of food is very much real, something that the average anerican doesn’t quite deal with.

It’s not like the Bautista regime did Cubans any favors _before_ Castro ( believe me I do not support Communism and Fidel Castro, but I also vehemently have a huge problem when a leader overthrows a democratically elected government with the assistance of the military and makes himself “El Jefe por Vida” , and this would be Bautista here)

It is sad to see a wonderful country, with all its strength from the 1950s, being turned into ruins by the mere whim of rulers. All strength to the Cuban people.
No it's turned into ruins because there is an trade embargo on Cuba. The embargo against Cuba was legislated in the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 and the Helms-Burton Act of 1996. The Helms-Burton Act was passed shortly after Cuba shot down an unarmed American plane, killing four. The law makes it possible to prosecute companies that trade with Cuba, or impose sanctions if they are not American companies. The law also means that the president of the United States can no longer personally - without the consent of Congress - determine whether the embargo will be lifted. The European Union objected to the laws. She thought that it made the United States implausible, because the US dictated to other countries about the importance of a free world market. And that's why Cuba is poor.
@@geekuyl6942Also worth mentioning that with a couple occasional exceptions, U.S. and Israel are the only nations to vote in favour of the embargo consistently. All others oppose it

Hello. GPS can’t be blocked. It’s a satelital signal. Just be sure to download Google maps to be used in offline mode 🙂
Chill on the hitchhikers

We were in Cuba just 2 weeks ago, I was mesmerised with it. We were the only cruise ship in the port which is such a shame as our guide told us that our tour was only the second job that month for him. I wish Cuba and the Cuban people best wishes.

Retired Canadian here. Before covid, I spent from 4 to 8 weeks in Cuba every winter (spend a winter in Toronto and you would understand) . Cuba isn't perfect but from the standpoints of safety, friendly people, and just plain fun, I prefer it to the various Florida resort areas I have also enjoyed.
I am from Philadelphia but went to university at U of T yes Toronto winters are rough.
But don't expect the luxury and food you get at Jamaica, Dominican Republic or Mexican resorts (which typically cost twice as much for Torontonians).

Would you like to live like that?
Ask me an intelligent question. Oh, and by the way I have lived like that!

Pozdrowienia dla Kuby i Kubańczyków.Wielki Szacunek.👍😃❤️🍀🇵🇱
Chan chan ❤❤❤
Why wouldn’t the Cubans have mobile phones? Oh… Right.
Experimentei comida mto exótica, tartaruga, cobra e crocodilo, e mto marisco !!
Parou no tempo!!!
I’m so glad to hear you’re still enjoying Cuba! It’s such a unique place, and I’m pretty confident you won’t be spotting a McDonald’s there anytime soon-it’s part of what makes it so interesting: it's not globalized yet. I really loved your comment; it made me smile! - More Cuba videos to watch later here: ua-cam.com/play/PL4ZSmi3lHwZKDqO20CPSF5XfX6ASuGjDo.html 🙂🇨🇺

I've been to cuba people are beautiful
I LOVE CUBA ❤❤❤❤❤ From Vietnam
Been to Cuba 25 times. Did a tour of Havana once , 20 years ago . Pretty much the same except for some new foreign cars and a few people carrying a cell phone now.
Hey George. Probably will be the same in 20 years too. This video will be nice to compare 🙂

Yes 🙌
Obrigado pelas imagens!
I loved the music part - Cha Chan. Well done, much love from South Africa
Yes 🙌 ❤️
All others oppose it
Hi i’m french and i think cuba looks like a wonderfull place, i also have a passion for classic cars so it’s very Nice to see a nation who knows how to treat them (even tho they don’t have much other choice) it’s also Nice to see classique amercan cars and classic soviet cars togethere and in a documentary i watched on the country i also could see a peugeot 403 (a french car from the 50s)
So i realy hope this country can prosper without loosing it’s culture and without having the default of the rest of the world (mass surveillance, mass conspiracies…. )
