Really great video. Was fighting with a replacement keypad for a Ford Fiesta, weeks after getting it online. Couldn't find anything that helped with programming. I stumbled across your video, followed your instructions and now it works like a champ..
Sitting at the dealership right now. The parts guys saying even the techs have some trouble programming these, and the service tech says it would be $100+ to install 😂 Your help is gonna save me some good money!
I was replacing the keypad on my 2017 Transit 250 and wasn't able to link it to the vehicle until I found this video and followed your instructions to switch it to communication mode one. Then I was able to program it no problem. Thank you.
If you don't know what communication type your 2009 Ford Fusion is, then I would try to program the keypad in type 1 first and if that doesn't work, I would change the communication on the keypad to type 2, then try to program it again to your Fusion. Hope this helps!
So great video but I'm struggling. I'm in the rapid flashing mode for my 2019 transit. After I hold 1/2 3/4 9/0 immediately put in my five digit code on the card, but the keypad does nothing, it continues to flash rapidly? Any help would be much appreciated thank you!
@@ChilliesWorld yes i've got the van into program mowed with all of the remotes, sounding the tone, the keypad, blinks three times but for some reason is not programming? Thanks for reply
And after you heard the chime, confirming the keypad and the remotes, did you take it out of programming mode before testing the remote and key fobs? At the 2:30 mark it shows how to take it out of programming mode
@@ChilliesWorld I never got it to chime for the keypad only the remotes, unfortunately. Still appreciate your replies and making this video but I think I'm just going to pay the price and ticket to dealer. The directions that came with my unit are different from yours on the video. I have tried both ways and can't get it to work with the directions in the box or the ones in the video. Thank you very much for your time!
I’m not sure if a 2004 F250 uses type one or type two communication. In that case I will try to program it with type one and type two. Just remember in 2017 and older models. You turn the engine on and off just for times to enter into programming mode.
@@ChilliesWorld Thank you. IU have been trying to program this thing a few times and came across your post. I am going to try and change comm type and see if that happens
Hi I put in the access code on the card after holding down 1/2, 3/4, and 9/0 but light at 9/0 doesn't flash but just goes dark again. What do I do? Please help!
After you push 1/2, 3/4, and 9/0 it should blink rapidly. You need to put your code in immediately. Then you’ll notice if it blinks once for type 2 communication or 3 times rapidly for type 1. Then it will go dark. If it is in type 1 communication, you can proceed and continue on with the next step of programming the keys and keypad to the van. Hope this helps. If not message me back.
I tried to follow this sequence both for the type one and two but neither worked. I'm programming it for a 2014 Ford Fiesta. Anyone else tried? The only Ford dealer within 100 miles of me charges $179 to program, that after paying $120 for the replacement keypad from their parts Dept.
Hey I saw you tried type 1 and 2 communication. I see it's a 2014 Ford Fiesta, how many times did you turn it on and off while programming it? 2017 and older should be 4 times while 2018 and newer is 8 times. That's the only thing I can think of.
2016 ford tansit bought it with a with keypad dont know code was not goven by the dealer so order a new keypad Trying to program it It blinks rapidly Than when i enter code it accepts it and blinks five times not 3 or 1 Than i go instert the key. Rapidly turn it 4 times since its a 2016 And the both keys emit a chime but keypad doesnt please help
Hi @azizhouston84 I've looked at your comment and am baffled on why it's blinking 5 times and not 1 or 3. In this case I would change the communication to type 1 and try it and if it doesn't work I would change it to communication type 2 and try again. One of the communication types should work. I would also double check the keypad model number to make sure they sent you the correct one. Hope this helps.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m happy the video helped you out!
Thanks for the video. You’re the only place I saw reference the communication protocol. Couldn’t get my keypad to work until I changed.
Thanks!
You're welcome! It's the little things that help, right?

You can do this yourself in less than 30 minutes. I had trouble too until I learned there were two types of communications.
Thanks! Also worked on 2008 Mustang, changing comm mode was the step missing in the manual
Thank you! I was able to install it and save some money. Out of all the videos, this one did it!
That's great to hear! Glad the video helped!
Just installed this today on my 2010 Fusion. Works really well and was able to get the keypad into type 1 communication no problem.

Thank you so much.
This worked perfectly.
You're welcome!
Thanks Chillie, as usual great video. Hey, I got a glimpse of a center console in the video? I’d love to see how you made that!
Hi Jim! Thanks for watching! I’ll make the center console video this week. It’s super easy to do
Thanks dude!!! I finally got it to work!
Yes! Great feeling when it starts working!
Will this work on a 2020 ford Ranger??
I don't know for sure because I haven't tried it with a Ford Ranger.
Will it work with ford maverick too? Thanks
I'm not sure if it would. I would contact ford and ask them what the keypad part number is for your year/make/model
@@ChilliesWorld thanks I did and waiting for the dealers reply
i ve been waiting on this video... thanks friend now how to i determine what communication my 2009 ford fusion is plus my keypad blinks 5 times

I had to replace my battery and now it’s not working. I bought mine 4 years ago and don’t know where the original code is. Am I shit out of luck?
I'm not sure how to get the original code without the card. Did you have any luck figuring it out?
