  • Sennheiser's open-back HD 600 is my favorite headphone, but in the IEM space I haven't really loved their products. Until now. Not only does the IE 600 blow away previous Sennheiser's that I've reviewed, I think it's a serious challenger for endgame status.

      The IE 600 is $1,120 AUD in Australia the IE 900 costs $2,400 🥶 Great review and thanks for mentioning the sleeping fit as for many years I've spent a great deal of time in hospital and have since maybe around 15 years old, warn a much cheaper, $150 AUD (around 20 years ago pricing) pair of Sennheiser iem's while in there as even without playing music or sound through them, they sealed so well and blocked much of the machines, nurses and other patient noises and allowed me to get much more relief as well as distraction through listening to radio or music or more recent years streaming material but my point is that the I'm yet to find any other iem's that are more comfortable to wear while lying my head on a pillow than those Sennheiser's and its ability to seal out sound or noise and they didn't use noise cancellation technology were Really important to those minority who use IEM's for this purpose and I still use them at home though no longer for sound as my mini computer and the dragonfly cobalt blue them, I'm currently using Meze Audio Rai Penta which sound pretty great but fall out my ear easily when lying on my back or side in bed. I'm curious about these Sennheiser's and whether quality headphone amplification can make a real difference to the quality of the sound, not just adding greater volume which I don't need.

      For me the silicon tips works perfectly and I get that deep bass.... Just don't press the ie 600 in the ear canal but let it let it block the opening. They work for me at first insert 99.99% of the time 😊

These make me wonder what is the point of multi-driver/hybrid IEMs when these can do absolutely everything brilliantly with just a single 7mm DD.

    Having put the ie 600 through the paces for about a year, for me, the stock silicone tips are the way to go. They absolutely have to create a seal. Other tips like Geekras have been easier to fit but throw the tuning way off. Other than getting use to the fitting, the ie600 have been stellar.

  • @w0n70n
    @w0n70n 2 роки тому +1

    This is obviously super late to the party but I just got my ie 600s and came across this video. First off, I love the channel so far and I appreciate the honesty. Secondly, when you mention the incompatibility of the mmcx socket on the iem's themselves, the actual connector itself is above the body of the iem, the shroud (the colored plastic part of the connector) is the only part of it that is raised. I personally did not like the ear hook so after some measuring I decided to sand down the plastic shroud that comprises the top of the connector and a standard cable from fiio fits and holds perfectly. This small change (which I was very nervous about due to their cost) changed these iem's for me instantly. For some reason getting rid of the moldable ear hook made these so much more comfortable on my ear canal and the pressure they were putting on my ears. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to looking into more of your reviews going forward!

      I own Kato and IE600. IE600 has smoother tuning than the Kato with better timbre and much better detail retrieval. Mids are not as forward as Katos but aren't recessed either. Soundstage wise Kato has a bigger soundstage than the IE600 and sometimes can make you think you are wearing a headphone. But IE600 are more detailed and less fatiguing than the Kato. IE600 sounds more musical and addictive than the Kato. Buy this than spend similar money trying to find the perfect mid fi iem. These are just perfect.

      I own both now and damn, yes it is. I preferred the IE600 to the Susvara even ngl.
      The IE200 is awesome, but the IE600 is endgame. Better than Oracle, IE900, Campfire Audio Ara, DUNU SA6, Softears RSV, Meze Advar and everything else I’ve ever heard. Best Audio experience I ever had tbh, even better than Focal Utopia and Susvara as stated (for me)

      @xxxyyy7744 damn bro. if they go down on black friday im gonna get one. I have the IE300, i love them, but i'm tired of the bassy warm signature of it. I'm craving detail, brightness and some bite, i need a more lively tuning. The ie300 is suited for depression days or sleep time probably

    • @Tssukiii

      @@Tssukiii would you please compare both sonically? i was surprised the video did not mention the ie300.

    • @Tssukiii
      @Tssukiii 8 місяців тому

      @@dhiaoshaish yes sure! So the IE600 and the IE300 are both V-shaped. The IE600 does not have a sucked out upper midrange though. So the IE600 has absolute clarity the IE300 misses. The bass and treble quality of the IE600 is also leagues above. For me, the IE300 has more uneven treble and is definitely fatuiguing. The IE600 doesn’t have less treble, but it’s so much more resolving and even. It is never sibilant and delivers so much detail I didn’t even know there existed. I would describe the IE300 as fun and the IE600 as king of clarity and somehow delivering some kind of neutrality although it’s V-shaped. Even though it’s v-shaped the midrange is unbelievably good. I even liked it better for vocals than the Oracle and RSV which are known to be the best at vocals below 1000$ just because of the sheer quality. IE300 is no comparison to the IE600 - if you find the IE600 for less than its asking price of 700-800$, I would look nowhere else. As an owner of the IE300 I think you can also agree the Sennheiser IEs are the most comfortable IEMs by far with the IE600 being no exception. I would use foam tips if the treble is a bit too much for you, but Spring Tips are my go to for total clarity. Normally I’m very sensitive to treble, but the IE600 handles it perfectly, so I don’t need to use the foam tips as on the IE300.
      For me it’s hard to find something that beats the IE600 right now. The shop I tested it in first had many different things to try out. And I even tried the Susvara there, but the IE600 impressed me the most that day. Bought it instantly after the listening audition. Somehow a single DD can outcompete any crazy combinations like Hybrids and Tribrids, wow.
      Hope I could help you! Just trust me in this one and buy them, it is worth the price and expense over the IE200 and IE300 and not only maybe 10% better as some reviewers were saying.
      Greetings! :)
