I agree with Senn's take to tune via ear instead of graphs. A lot of the nuances within the mids/treble can't be easily defined by a target curve.
I love EQing by ear. Would be my dream to EQ a wireless set, as you said it's mostly done via equalizing on the chip. It is definitely a skill to develop if you ever want to get the best sound out of your IEM/headphones.

Thanks for the detailed insights of product characteristics and development. It was very informative. Two days ago, I bought the IE900 at my favorite dealer Alex Giese in Hannover. I wasn’t so happy with my current Fiio FA-9 IEM (balanced armature). Not enough bass and the fit is not comfortable, because of the big housing. I was looking for the Fiio FD-7, which also has a single dynamic driver, but it wasn’t available. The salesman told to listen at the IE900, and I was immediately impressed. Better sound stage and more bass and clearer voices at the IE900. Also, a much better fit to my ears.
I did not planned to buy an IEM at the price range of the IE900, but so far, I am glad I did.
I have two smaller issues: The cable could be a bit longer for my taste, and due to the proprietary version of the MMCX connector my longer Fiio MMCX cable aren‘t compatible, and I am still looking for ear tips, which provide a better fit to enjoy the best bass performance. Currently, I use the Comply Tx-200 foam tips, which are a better fit than the provided ear tips.
Anyway, I use the IE900 on a Fiio M11 Plus Ltd. mobile player, which is a great pairing of two good products.

Can’t wait to give myself this as a birthday present in a year. Then again by then who knows what will be out on the market.

I got both Ie900&Ie600 and while I love them both, with a bit Eq Ie900 is better in bass detail, space feeling and transparency. But you can be very happy with the 600, not so far. Thanks for the video, WISH I COULD HIT THE LIKE BUTTON MORE THEN ONCE! Very nice and open minded guy, RESPECT!
I wish they'd make an IEM that has the frequency response of the IE600 but the price of the IE300. I love the IE300, but I cannot justify the cost of the IE600 when all I really want is a slight change to the FR.

Yeah, I usually like to bring an EQ for my phone and one for my Xbox and one for my PS5 and one for my PC... No. I'm an audio engineer, if I wanted to just EQ it, I would have.
@@nickglover I wouldn´t use IEM´s for gaming, but to each their own I guess.
See if you can find a cheap used IE800 S on EBay, that’s very much, essentially what the IE600s are! My IE800 sound exactly like 👍 my Sennheiser IE900s. I wanted to sell my IE900s on EBay, but the right earpiece statically checks out every two weeks, and I have to reset the driver- etc. by sticking a plastic stick gently, in the hole of the earphone. It reset by blowing on it at first. Remember this if you run into earphone problems. Plus the wearability of the IE800-S is 24/7 don’t even feel them in your ears, and take 1 1/2 seconds to put on/in Let’s go!
