  • In this episode of Southwest off grid, I finish putting together the kitchen sink for my off grid cabin. This was relatively low cost to do. in total, i was in the hole for 100 bucks. not bad at all in my opinion. please subscribe to my channel for future videos and projects coming out and show your support

    Man, modern people throw out such nice things. That sink is still perfect. Bro, get you a 12V battery and an RV pump. RV pumps are relatively cheap and work with that flexible pipe material you got there.

      Thanks for the tips! In the future I'll definitely look into that but for now I'm trying to use the least amount of electricity as possible. So manual pumps for now.

    It's Silly to let the grey water tube at the dead end bottom of the dirty water jerrycan. You should cut the tube at two centimeters from thé entrance. Nice réalisation, howevet. I will do sometging like this for my van

      @@southwestoffgrid hi! first excuse my poorenglish, i'm french and our educational system is diving. well, i first passed a few nights onboard, with just a gym matress, a bottle of water and a camping stove. it excited me so, i bought a camp bed, a matress, all the camping stuff e.g. an "USB shower" etcaetera. and enjoyed a french tour . now are the times winter is coming, i'll treat the "ground" of the cabin with pain remover and a rust converter, put some polystyrene decks and a wood ground with lino. then i'll insulate with multilayer such as used in house building, cheap and simple to install. wood in, and after all, a little furniture with a sink, a place for my gas stove and a desk for my computer. that's why, i came on your video, cause my sink will be inspired by yours (and thx a lot). when all will be finished, i'll connect my ecoflow battery to solar panels and add a wood stove, here wood is free in the forests and it'a a good solution not to depend on supplies. in about one or two years, i plan to buy a forest parcel, and build a wood house on, with chickens and a vegetable garden, to get off the grid as possible (seems like times are going to get harder). but european globalists governement seems like they are initiating a "withour property rights" society model, i study the news attentivly cause i can alrready guess it will be hard to get a resilient field, something like an autonomous base, soon or later. thank you for your attention, i'll follow your next steps in your videos. congrats

    Rubber washer and paper washer go on th under side of the sink for next time. Plumbers putty or silicone goes around the top flange. You'll get it. You did the hardest part already. Everything else is downhill from here. 🎉

    How are you making the water warm/hot though?

    • @southwestoffgrid
      @southwestoffgrid  7 місяців тому

      If i need hot water to wash certain dishes, I heat up a kettle on my induction cook top. For the most part, i quickly wash the dishes as i use them and they wash fine with cold water.
