    The constant Question: I have to unscrew the PVC pipe from the sink to empty out the grey water, not a hard task (it’s only 2 gallon). The pipe is snug in the container but not tight, it's easy to remove. Sand it down to your containers opening to make it easy.
    This might not be the ideal way to do this but it works. Find what's best for your situation.

    I'm thinking of getting a foot pump instead of a hand pump.

    I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! A "friend" who knows everything (he thinks) told me that without a water hook up, there was no way to live in a camper. I am sending him this video ... wish I could be there while he opens it and freaks out. Number one it works and number two it was put together by a WOMAN .... love ya girl!! Also: New subbie here

    EXCELLENT VIDEO! Detailed explanation, great visuals, perfect length and speed. And thank you for not having one of those long intros.

    How do you change the gray water container? The pipe is snug on there. Wouldn’t it be hard to wiggle it out after it gets full?

    Excellent job! Quick tip. Habitat for humanity has the same sink for same cost.

    Nice. It shows how easy it is to quickly and easily make something that works, FREE of anything but your own ability. Have a similar setup in my yurt going on two years. But it's 15 liters/4 gallons with faucet and I place it above the sink. Nice to have both hands free while the water is running. Quickly becomes messy when both are very dirty IMO. 15 liters/4 gallons can last for days even when doing dishes and stuff.
    What I learned. When you empty the grey-water container, good idea to put something to catch what can otherwise drip from the sink or pipe (there's always a little). Oh and spray some natural soap on the inside of the grey-water tank if you don't want to clean it all the time to get rid of the stink (which comes quickly otherwise trust me - in the warm summer mere days).
    I'd like to try a foot pedal pump or the next upgrade. Something to make it really easy to start and stop the water? Cheers.

    How do you empty the grey water? It looks like it is fit in very securely and there is no flex in the pipe .

    This is a good idea. I wonder if you could place the water source on top of your fridge and use the gravity to bring it down slowly, with an automatic siphon setup.

    • @LetsKeepLifeSimple
      @LetsKeepLifeSimple  6 років тому +4

      That could definitely work, I thought of so many different ways I could've done this but I went this route just to keep everything a bit more organized & homie. I didn't want the water containers taking up space on the countertop or be visible, so they are nice a tucked away under the sink cabinet. =)

    Great simple set up, you could use a bottle with a tap attach a hose for drainage of grey water if you stick to earth friendly detergents. Save lifting heavy bottles if drained responsibly and discreetly?

      @LetsKeepLifeSimple  5 років тому +1

      Sorry for the late response, if you're referring to the counter top I cut out the hole for the sink myself. You can see a little more of that process a few videos back (the video called, "I'm Remodeling My Tiny House".)

    How do you empty the grey water with the pvc attached to the sink? Do you unscrew it?

    • @LetsKeepLifeSimple
      @LetsKeepLifeSimple  6 років тому +7

      Yes, I unscrew the pipe. Doesn't take more than a few seconds. I use a biodegradable natural soap & use the water in my garden.

      @@xanaxsnax You could try to use some kind of flexible hose if you didn't want to unscrew it all the time. I've seen some people use 5 gal buckets for grey water, and they drill a hole near the bottom and put a drain spigot there that they can turn on and off.

      This set up isn't for everyone but I don't mind it. 😊 And as I mentioned, this is just for now. My house is currently sitting on a property where I can't do what ever I want. So for now I can deal with it. If or when I move my house to a permanent location I will been changing a few things.
