I literally ate 4 nuggets off my toddler’s plate a couple of days ago because he wouldn’t eat them and I went to add them to my calorie tracker and about died when I saw that those 4 little nuggets were almost 270 calories!!! I didn’t even eat them because I was hungry I was just being a tightwad because the Tyson chicken nuggets are expensive and I didn’t want them to “go to waste” 😭

If learning what you're eating gives you pause then feeding the same thing to your children should also give you just as much pause. Healthy eating is universal after all.

@@dreytonstrickland6302 my son is autistic so getting him to eat anything is a challenge. And the nuggets themselves didn’t give me pause…it was the fact that I had already ate my allotted calories for the day and didn’t think a few nuggets would put me that much over my daily caloric intake. As for him barely eating at all that day that many calories for him would have been just fine!!!! But thanks for your opinion on a two second glimpse into my life 👍

@@Galgal999 Does your son do well with leftovers? I'm autistic and had a lot of food aversions as a child, so I basically lived off mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. If your son can eat the reheated nuggets, popping them in the fridge might be a good compromise. They don't go to waste and you don't feel obligated to finish them. I hope this suggestion helps 🖤

That’s what I keep telling my mom, who says she’s not losing weight. I suggested we weigh her breakfast alone, and I guaranteed she was eating around 1500 calories just for breakfast. We counted the calories, and sure enough, it was 1600 calories. She got mad at me, lol 😂.
Weighing your food makes it easier to control yourself because you have a good reference for your calorie budget without going blind on a diet. By counting your calories, you can enjoy any food you want or crave-in moderation-and know how many calories that craving will cost you. It can be eye-opening and empowering to see how small changes can make a big difference.

My strategy is making a weekly calorie budget. That is, taking your daily calorie goal and multiplying by 7. And you still have a daily goal but keep track of over and under calories. For instance, one day you go 200 under, you have just "banked" 200 calories. Next day you go 200 over and you draw it from that bank. Or... you go over 200 calories for a day any you have a -200 deficit. The next day you eat 200 calories less, or 100 less over 2 days. Each day I keep track of how my weekly calorie budget depletes as well as if the amount of banked or deficit calories. If I have banked calories at the end of the week, they are discarded and I start clean the next day. If I have a deficit, that is carried over to the next week so I can kill that deficit. But as it turns out, I bank quite a few calories during the week and end up using some, but not all at the end of the week. Down 70 pounds so far.

This helps me to lose fat. Some type of food like white rice, can hold up body water. To much protein can also cause weight gain. What you also need to remember, that a scale shows only the weight. It does not show how much fat you gained or muscle. Hense the reason i take pictures every week. Visual you see better the results than what a scale shows. This keeps you motivated to keep going. My wife and me are hovering for weeks around the same weight. But visual we improve allot, even people notice that we still get leaner.

@@kylethedalek9 lbs in a week has to be water retention related. You wouldn’t gain 9 lbs of fat in a week unless you ate an extra 31,500 calories in the week. Definitely doesn’t sound like that’s the case!! (I’m going off of 3,500 calories = 1 lb of fat). Try tracking your water intake. Sometimes not drinking enough water actually causes us to retain more water, so a lot of people will start dropping lbs when they increase their fluid intake.
As for your thyroid question, it’s a blood test that can be done at your doctor’s office. Also, if you’re retaining that much water, it may be a good idea to get a full work up done to rule out other issues as well.

As someone who has been on EVERY diet out there, including a full forty day water only fast where I lost fifty pounds, and out of all of my research throughout the years and decades, I feel as though I'm fully qualified to speak on this topic.
Everything he mentioned in this video is COMPLETELY ACCURATE! We grossly underestimate the amount of food we eat because of POOR tracking and measuring of our food, even down to the tablespoon.
And as the most caloric and fat dense foods are often small, such as: candy bars, snack cakes, chips, SODAS, the need or want rather for seed oils and butters as well, we set ourselves up for failure on Day 1.
Even on Keto/Carnivore, there are SO MANY people led down the wrong road when they are told that they can eat as much as they want, which is kind of a lie, and I'll tell you why. Those on Low Carb diets foolishly think that the quick weight loss is fat, when it is in fact WATER.
That's why, when those who are low carb resume normal eating habits, the rush of carbs and sodium blows them up like a balloon, and oftentimes, they gain more weight back, due to the excessive calories they have eaten all along.
For every one part sodium you consume, three parts water follow.
In the absence of carb intake on Keto/Carnivore, your blood glucose levels fall, which flushes your body of sodium, causing a diuretic effect, causing your body to release all of that excess water we tend to carry. And that is why people usually experience that first week or two of fast weight loss.
Depending on how their bodies hold onto excess water and their salt intake, eliminating carbs will "dry you out" and you will look less puffy.
Bodybuilders when cutting weight in a contest prep also reduce their carbs the closer they get to contest time, as they want to have a grainy look that compliments their efforts during this process.
Personally, I have found that most sustainable way to lose weight and keep it off, especially if you are insulin resistant, is to follow a PSMF or Protein Sparing Modified Fast, which is High Protein, Low Carb AND Low Fat IF you have an abundance of fat to lose.
The Low Fat part of this protocol is what largely separates it from Keto/Carnivore. That, and the fact that this protocol largely prioritizes Protein in High Amounts, unlike True Keto, where it prioritizes High Fat, Low to Moderate Protein, and Very Low Carbs.
A good book I found that explains this diet best is The Dukan Diet by Dr. Dukan, a French doctor. I got a copy from the library.
You cannot escape Cause and Effect.
If you want True Fat Loss and not Water Weight Loss that will ultimately send you into a depression when you so quickly gain the weight back because of the weight loss being mainly water, then the NUMBER ONE principle you need to keep front of mind is CALORIES IN, CALORIES OUT.
A High Protein, Low Carb and Low Fat Diet is your best route to a lean body that is from ACTUAL FAT LOSS through a caloric deficit, and your will maintain your muscle mass while cutting fat by prioritizing High Protein over any other macronutrients.
A typical day would include: .7-1lb of protein for every pound of body weight you have, though some use their ideal body weight to multiply their protein needs by.
Next, you are allowed around 30 grams of fat and 10 grams of carbs, I believe. and aside from two tablespoons of oat bran in the morning for fiber, perhaps in some low fat, low sugar, high protein yogurt, such as Triple Zero Chobani yogurt.......one cup btw, the only carbs you will have are fibrous carbs like broccoli and leafy green veggies only.
    NO STARCHY CARBS!!!
You don't have to be dogmatic about it though. Just try to be as close to these numbers as you can.
In fact, if you are Keto/Carnivore, you can alternate between PSMF and keto/carnivore every three days, as PSMF will be lower calorie days and keto/carnivore are higher calorie days. And like he said in this video, it's about calories in, calories out.
    Good Luck.

Starvation mode is when you have literally no food to sustain your life aka starving ppl of africa. If you have fat on your body enough that your bmi is in overweight or obesity you are not starving. Your extra fat is literally energy storage, specifically for when you don't eat long term. Get you an electrolyte supplement and a mineral supplement and you can fast as long as you need to see your weight go down. Ppl need to stop the "starvation mode= 1200 calories or less will make you hold on or even gain weight" that's such a load of crap. If you're weight isn't moving while not eating or eating very low calorie its because you are still insulin resistant. Your insulin levels are still too high to switch over to fat burning. Just because the weight didn't budge doesn't mean your calories are too low. It just means you are going to have to wait a little longer for that insulin to drop. Shhh sometimes that longer is literally one more day. Weight loss takes time.. that's why you don't need to weigh daily cus you'll be disappointed especially if you are eating daily. You weigh weekly or monthly. And then don't forget if you are exercising the muscle you gain will also be a part of the overall number. Seeing how you feel daily and measuring your waist is a better indicator of how far you are. And insulin is usually high from too many refined sugar/carbs/fat. Lower your refined sugar and carb intake and the scale will move.

Actually starvation mode is real however it works the opposite of what most people think. The body starts eating body fat for fuel when you are not consuming enough calories to maintain daily body function.
Idk why ppl think the human body that needs avg 2000 calories to maintain cellular function magically can drop down to 500 calories or 0 calories needed per day efficiency. If our bodies were capable of that level of efficiency, don’t u think they would be doing it all the time as it is an evolutionary advantage to only need to eat 25% of the calories other humans need to sustain their bodily function.

@@kylethedalek Are you tracking your calories? Even though you think you’re eating 1200 there’s a high likelihood you’re eating more than that. I’d recommend trying to slightly over count your calories so that you most definitely don’t go over. Also, make sure you count extra calories that go into your meals, for instance, when you make eggs, make sure to track the butter/oil used to cook them, as well as any seasoning or sauces. And If you’re unsure of the amount of something, always overestimate.
If you track that and you’re legitimately under 1200 cal a day I would talk to a doctor because you may have other factors intervening. Best of luck!

Love this! I checked the description box but don’t see the guide for tracking macros correctly.

Do we count the grams before or after it’s cooked?
Lol you literally addressed this question a few seconds after I commented this 🤣

I'm also assuming that eating that low amount of calories slows down your neat.

I’m sorry. Grams is a unit of measurement for mass. Weight is force = mass * g(accelaration due to gravity). Only reason why it’s interchangeable is because gravity is relatively the same here on earth.
But please you can measure in ounces, just convert to * 28.5 grams.
Dunning krueger effect at its finest. Also, how the fuck can you say a person is not eating 1200 calories when people are tracking 1200 calories - we learn in primary school how to conduct basic experiments and when you don’t have any control and make everything variable, how the fuck you can disprove what you’re claiming is right and/or disprove what eating 1200 calories does not do.
I am not mad, either this is clickbait or just a huge gap in establishing fundamental factors. Either way, this video did not say anything except for “people that tracks calories are wrongly tracking their calories”

There is not such thing as eating below your maintenance calories and keep the weight. Plateauing is just a temporary process but we dont know how to break the laws of energy conservation yet.

Sounds WONDERFUL….but my metabolic burn is only 1321 daily, at at 38 bmi, and I teach HIIT3x weekly 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m a personal trainer and group fitness instructor 😓. I’m 61 and lost 140 in 13 months at 55. Slowly pilling back on. Also certified nutritionist.🤷🏻‍♀️. 12weeks on trizepitide and 1000 calories lost 14 pounds, 120 grams protein. Just miserable .

I'm 5'10 and 250lbs . I've been eating 1400 calories mon-thursday, 2000 calories Fri-Sunday. Total of 11,600 calories. Calorie deficit of a about 7300 calories per week. So I should be losing 2lbs a week, but only losing 0.5-1lb per week. It's been about 2 months. Should have lost 15lbs. Instead I've only lost 6lbs. Really discouraging. I make sure to count ALL my calories. Even sauces or when I eat unexpected snacks on the weekend. I think it might be the alcohol. Have anywhere from 6-12 alcoholic beverages every weekend, but I count those calories too. Thinking of getting blood tested for Hypo thyroidism or diabetes

OH well, my fellow sufferers. 2nd Summer is coming to its very end and with it, so is my blast of working towards something. I'm still not a kilogram lighter than April last year when I started. No change in weight Despite my tummy lines are definitely a little visible and Ive gained unattractively thick biceps and triceps and forearms (and also lost boob size and facial cuteness which got me some rude disses btw), dedicating my entire free time to weight lifting for that..? Walked hundreds of kilometers in addition as so many channels promote and do a sugar-free, clean eating style in a strict caloric deficit. The trainers in the studio praise, I'm so dedicated and on the right way. Well, right way for what. If 2 years dont get one kg down, how long am I supposed to do it to get 7 down as I once weighed? Results are like ninja, masterfully at hiding and I dare to say, when facing such impossible extremes, liposuction might not be as much "the lazy way" as they always make it seem like. It might be the only way to some of us. It preserves breast, beauty and seems the key to actual results :/

"Minnesota Starvation Experiment" absolutely sounds like a screamo band.
Great video. Your body will not let itself die just to spitefully maintain its beer belly, haha. I am finally figuring all this out at 32. Being conscious of everything you put in your mouth is a revelation.
I geeked out when you insisted on tracking mass and not volume, haha. Very true!

What if you eat 850 mon - Thursday and 1500 Friday to Sunday and workout hard 4 days a week and moderate 3 days a week. I weigh 110-114 trying to maintain 110 consistently?
