Am I the only one in awe of how the cleaning cart fit so perfectly behind the white baking station? That there was organizational magic😂
So satisfying
Yes, that was magic!!! I had to rewatch several times because I thought that was designed as one piece, I'm still confused. Then I had to go to the comments to look for this comment.😅 I want that now!
Oh, you’re wearing the shirt your student designed, it looks very nice. The colour is perfect for you ❤
@@proud2bnumber1Yes, I love how that fit together. It was made in heaven. I especially love Dani's face when she looked at it and was like Omg!!! 😮
I think when you’re all finished with Dani’s house you should start all over again for the second pass because I don’t know how we’re gonna live without her content. Or she should start a vlog channel. That’s my honest opinion.
Maybe she can just follow April around to other projects and bring her pets 😂
Totally here for a second pass too! 😂 guna miss Dani!
Second pass is a great idea! Especially after a month of living in the new organization, and then come back to see what’s working, and what else to get rid of
Yes please to a second pass ❤
ikr, feel like hanging out with friends. this duo is the best
Omg. Pez dispenser for Lactaid tablets. Hilariously creative, even if she ultimately didn't do it
😁
I think, an investment into a good wall of kitchenfurniture, that uses all the wallspace on the refrigerator and baking side, as well as a small dishwasher underneath the sink would improve Dani’s life a lot. She really loves so many activities around the kitchen and I guess she spends a lot of time in it. But right now, it seems to me, like finding space for what makes her happy, doing the dishes and other not so funny stuff takes a lot of valueble time too, she could spend enjoying baked goods and more coffee instead. And the furniture mix creates a lot of unused space and makes organizing complicated. I wouldn’t splurge on any other furniture in this apartment, but I think the kitchen would really be worth it
I think the mixture of furniture she has is something she likes, that makes it Dani.
I know Dani doesn't want to clear off her refrigerator, but if she could just start with removing the tiny white words my OCD would be really thankful! lol! My fridge was also cluttered with magnets and those little word things ( which by the way no one ever used) until one day I decided to clean them off and I have zero regrets.😊 You will be surprised at the sense of calm it will bring to your kitchen.
Just a clean fridge door would be lovely. 😍
Please Dani and April!! 🙏🙏🙏 Just the tiny white words would be phenomenal!! You can do it Dani!! Doing wonderful!! ❤🎉
We have all the fridge magnets my inlaws collected on their extensive travels. The magnets used to live on their rumpus room fridge and bothered no one. Now I'm forever knocking them off. A few would be OK but not all of them.
I've been thinking about this...maybe Dani could get a magnetic message board to hang above her baking station and when her friends come over to drink up her booze, they could write messages using the fridge "words" and put them on the magnetic board? At any rate, job well done ladies, the place is looking and functioning so much better :)
I love the magnets! Please keep them! Of course they look chaotic, but they are charming and remind me of Danis personality and they don't take up a lot of space. They can be a reminder of the "old house" without actually being "real clutter".
My daughter moved into my small condo temporarily with her partner and two young sons. We're in the process of decluttering and cleaning the space so that it works for all of us. It's pure chaos right now though! So this video was really helpful for showing us how to get control over our stuff and organize it. Also very relatable.
PLEASE just TRY cleaning off the whole front of the fridge. You will be AMAZED at how good it feels and looks! It will change the WHOLE kitchen!
I’ve been decluttering for years now. (Saying and not doing) 😂 I have finally tackled my closet and it’s 50% done. I let go a lot, but when I looked at my closet the second round, I feel like I can let go more.
It’s like peeling an onion, one layer at a time
"Calm & Contained"--the Space Maker Method way!🧡
so proud of Dani she has an amazing personality and is doing so good, she also helps others with her confidence to take on their own homes but she also gives hope that anything is possible!! So excited for her !!
Lucy doesn't like the mike cause the fluffy part is called a "dead cat".... she knows. 😊😂 Such a satisfying day of decluttering!! This one got my mind whirling to do some deep decluttering of my own!!! Well done Dani!❤❤🎉And as always well done April! 🥰❤️
"An organization mullet" ❤😂❤
I'm not a minimalist, nor a maximalist, but I did a whole house declutter a couple of years ago. I think some of the things I took away from it were that I can keep my collections, but they have to fit within a certain space. If I want to add to them, I need to decide what I can let go of. Also, you can have as much stuff as you like, as long as it has a sensible home. I happen to like a lot less stuff in my home than Dani, but that's just me.
Those pop tart coasters are adorable! Loving this series, I’m getting inspired to declutter as well :)
The organizational mullet! Haha. That is the state of my entire house!
Good on Dani for sharing her journey. What I find the most helpful is how this has helped me refine by own preference for what I keep in my home and how I keep it. I am neither a minimalist nor maximalist. I do love to purge and curate my own stash. And as much as I enjoy my things, I do not like open shelving at all. I like to open cupboards and see things tidy and organized. Nobody needs to like my style or be like me. We are all different and it is nice to see how a home that Dani loves is created. The focus is on Dani and not someone else's idea of what a home should look like. Have enjoyed this series. thank-you
I love the use it or lose it bag. I am going to do that.
That cleaning caddy fitting in to the back of that cabinet is *chefs kiss* I literally went “Ooooo”
Wow, you've come so far in this house! Dani, cleaning up and tidying is going to be so easy after everything has a home.
I love her Starbuck collection 😍 i would use them, because they have happy colors!
Making progress.
Great video ladies
I am not ready for this series to be over. Please do more! 😭 It has been so good and I can’t wait every week to watch another episode. Love! 💕
Great progress!
Dani I wish I could come to your party!!! This series has helped me soooo much I’ve been decluttering so much from kids toys to clothes and moving on to my kitchen tomorrow 😬
Really enjoying my Sunday morning breakfast video ❤️
Dani needs to buy some shelves cupboards for the back and microwave wall in the kitchen.. then she would have loads of storage to organise so she doesn't loose stuff. IKEA has great value stuff for small spaces. I use clear cheap labelled plastic boxes in my cupboards that I can pull out to access everything.
I use coffee in my trash bags.. it acts as deodorant and the trash doesn't smell as much.
I so need to watch this. This is definitely me. I know that everything has a space. I just have to know where to place them
Can’t wait for all to come! Coming along so nicely. And don’t forget to clean up the outside of the fridge 😊
Yaaaas Dani has become the declutter queeeeeeeen 🎉
Dani, I am trying to be helpful. I'm 74, I don't need that much OTC medicine. I have food sensitivities. That blouse is adorable. Tina, Al's wife
you need to do more declutters with people who have pets with such funny personalities i love lucy and ricky ❤
Awsome job ......😊😊
Thanks a lot 😊
Usually I wake up later... Hooray for being here early-ish😆☮️
:) Yay!
After you’ve finished the counter tops and cabinets…I challenge you to declutter the outside of the fridge. 😊
NOTE: Worked in Pharmacy!! On "expired"prescriptions & OTC goods......the Expiration dates are for "shelf" sales......Still good up to a year but efficacy reduces.
Loving this series!!
One question - is the shelf strong enough to hold the microwave long-term?
Yep!
I don't get Dani's love of Starbuck's mugs, but she wouldn't get my love of tins! I felt a pang when she said to throw away pretty tins earlier :D I really struggled when the professional organiser suggested I should get rid of biscuit tins that I'm not using - "but they're pretty!" 😆
Keep all the tins! ❤
Love it 👍🍀
I would put the fridge in the other edge followed by the shelves where the microwave and snacks are, followed by the baking station. The fridge kind would hide the mess. The brown glass cabinet she could actually put in her bedroom organising her jewellery in a nice way like a display or in the living room as a bar with the alcohol bottles. Or her collection of mugs. I think this brown/glass shelve is polutting the area. looks messy because of that!
Just a quick PSA about snowglobes. The liquid is extremely toxic to cats so make sure they're displayed/stored safely & securely. If one should break or leak, keep your cats away until you can clean it up thoroughly.
I wonder if the microwave cabinet could fit on top of baking cabinet?
It's WAY too heavy and would definitely be too tall.
Dog dishes. On the ledge. Raises the bowls up so dog doesn’t have to bend down to eat. No bowls on floor. Have one of the unused bins hiding behind area for dog and cat related items. Pet “department” !
I think the ledge would be too high for Ricki, but now you have me thinking about how good those raised dish holders would look... 😊
"If I want my students to listen, I have to listen" is the most valuable sentence of today's video to me.
True story!
2 ears, one mouth. That means we should listen twice as much as we talk!
Okay, April, I just HAVE to make this suggestion: Please consider moving the microwave/snack shelf next to the fridge, while switching places with the glass mug cabinet so that it’s next to the baking table! That way, the black appliances are all next to each other, and Dani’s pretty glassware, Starbucks cups and mugs will be more visible from the entire side of the glass cabinet. (It seems odd to have a glass-sided curio smashed between two opaque things.) The reddish color of the cabinet will also go nicely with the red mixer! And, additionally, this will create a stair-step down in height from the corner, with the fridge as the high-point.
Thank you for (hopefully) considering my suggestion 😂
As an organization freak, I LOVE this series!
-Ellen
I may try this out!
I was thinking the same! I think it would look so good! 😊
Me too. Great people think alike 😊
Yes, thank you. I knew something wasn't feeling right. The glass cabinet just feels out of place.
But that way, the baking ingredients will be further away from the baking area. I actually think that the whole cabinet is odd there but at the same time is in the best available space.
For the little whale mug / cup - use it to store toothpicks in for testing baked goods! It's got a lid so they'll stay clean and it'll be useful decor
What a nice idea
If you mean the green one next to the sink it's a butter dish
@@alibali193 True but she only uses it in cool weather. If it becomes part of the baking ensemble, it can be used more frequently.
This series is one of my favorites. You guys work so well together. (Now if you could just talk Danni out of all those word magnets on the fridge, lol)
Bahahahahaha
Please Dani! Find another home for the magnets!
@@SpaceMakerMethod Maybe she could remove all magnets and just put back up the pictures that are the most joyful?
Yes. Have her put them all together and take a picture of them. 👍
I don’t normally like fridge magnets, but I do like the word ones on Dani’s fridge. It’s like a chaotic poem
The cleaning cart tuck was soooooo satisfying!
Right?!
Seriously!
Pure genius ❤
Absolutely genius!!
Yes, that was magic!!! I had to rewatch several times because I thought that was designed as one piece, I'm still confused. Then I had to go to the comments to look for this comment. I want that now!
Said it before, saying again, the more you declutter and organize, the more sweet Dani GLOWS!! She smiles rays of accomplishments!
You can see the burden lift from her shoulders!👀
It's so exciting to see her excitement!!! She is absolutely glowing.
And, she is taking more initiative in making decisions without waiting for April's suggestions 😊❤
@@Brigitte_Cantinlike the organized student that she's becoming. 🙂 I'm learning so much from this. I need to really tackle every room this way.
"An organizational mullet"! LOL
YES! "an organisational mullet" is perfect !!!! LOVE it :D
Very clever 🎉
Absolutely nothing wrong with curated maximalism! Enjoy all your favourite things and breathe easier in an organized space Dani! ❤
I would still need to declutter about 50% more stuff to feel calm, but I can appreciate that for Dani, this is her limit. You have a gift helping INDIVIDUALS meet their needs.
Despite the clutter, i really love the overall mood of her house.
She has a lot of neat stuff and a great style. She should have a channel where she does the second pass and rearrangea her furniture.
@@smarterthanawaffle Exactly!
I adore her fun-loving personality !💕
When you end Dani's series, you should show a before and after of each area/room. Dani has been a delight to watch. You can see the heaviest being lifted from Dani with each declutter. I hope that you may do a follow-up with Dani in the coming year to check on her progress with decluttering and organization. Love ❤️ Dani's personality.
Yes! I am missing bevor and after pics! I find them so satisfying 😅
Next to your parents’ house, this is my favorite decluttering series. So relatable.
I LOVE April's mom. Maybe we need a reunion with all our favorite characters all together and having fun 😅
AGREE! Both really great series that keep me wanting more 💜
I literally just decluttered an entire BINS worth of shoes because of the last Dani video. My kitchen is going to be nrxt, and I will absolutely be using this as inspiration!
I really like these videos, it feels more like two friends decluttering rather than an expert and a novice. And I relate to Dani on a professional and spiritual level 😭
I am so excited for Dani to be finished but also, I’m gonna miss her so much!
Same!
Dani has did a great job decluttering her kitchen. It is looking so good. I am going to miss Danis decluttering series.
Me too!!
I hope she does a second pass series in a couple of months. She do so good and y'all are so much fun to watch. I can't wait until the reveal!
Second pass!
Second pass!
The brown basket with the two lids, that's a spare toilet paper roll holder. Set on top of your toilet tank with two rolls inside.
Repeating from my comment in the previous video in the series:
Leave space at the rear and off any side vent of the microwave to allow heated air to escape. This is necessity for SAFETY.
You should place a half-inch thick length of wood at the rear of the MW wide enough to align the MW front to the edge of the shelf it's sitting on. That way it won't get pushed back inside the cabinet too far for safety's sake.
It would be interesting to revisit in a year to see how things are going. Eunice never made much effort to maintain much less improve and your mom continued to make progress so it would be interesting to see how Dani would do after a year on her own post declutter.
I love that she's wearing the shirt her student sent her ❤
Maybe you could schedule seasonal updates with Dani - she could be a series regular!
A valuable lesson learned is for her to not have too many closed containers. Out of sight, out of mind. Excellent job on the kitchen!
That's me, I don't store anything in a cardboard or something not see-through because if I don't see it -- it does not exist.
Blitz it! Dani is a Champion!
That was quite a transformation in what seemed like a small amount of time. Must have been noticeably calmer to come home to after work for Dani.
Can't wait to see more. Life changing!
I recognise a more gentle declutter going on here with a maximalist. More of an organisation of collections. It suits Dani perfectly.
Limiting collections is not a bad thing. It was my 2nd task when I started decluttering 18 months ago to sort my pottery collection. I'm limited to a window sill, a shelf and a sideboard. I'd been buying things whenever I saw anything remotely in my taste, but it was very satisfying to pare it down to a more curated collection, and I haven't bought anything since. I love every item I have, but tbh I could get rid of 3/4 of that if I really had to.
I was waiting for this video all day, you DO NOT know how many times I've refreshed your page already waiting for the new video to pop up lol!
OMG THANK YOU! Hope you like the episode! We usually try to have them out on the hour (8 minutes prior to this time for wherever you're located).💛
@@SpaceMakerMethod Ohh you're welcome, and thanks for letting me know, now I know what time to tune in every Sunday 💛
I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Dani and seeing the progress she has made. She is so open to suggestions and such a fun person.
This is one of my favorite decluttering series. Thank you for taking us with you, Dani!
As a fellow Dani i am loving this series so much! Been motivating me to declutter too
I would love that you come for a second round after a while. I think you could do even a greater change. You always say it needs a few rounds.
Love your content but have to say am not in love with the new format. Am not seeing relevance of the previews and am starting to skip past them. But I hate the giant blue banners. They are very intrusive and actually block viewing at times, making it somewhat frustrating to watch
It also seems like there was an old April, who talked to us like a friend, and a new April, who's focused on the work like an impersonal stranger. Never expected this.
Love these videos. I think Danny should live with no magnets on her fridge for one month and then see if she wants to put them back.
I love that she's wearing the top that her student made for her!
Every episode Dani looks so much lighter and happier ❤ power of a curated space
Sorry now but she needs to just pass on that drink as she says she doesn't drink why keep all that
I'm thinking you're right. A couple bottles were gifts from a friend who passed, but I think it is time to let those go. Someone else can enjoy them. 😊
I love this series so much. Can't wait fir a second pass to see how much she declutters, next. I keep doing another pass each week as maintenance and it gets easier each time. I find more peace with each pass through. I am excited for her to declutter all the alcohol. I, myself, would dump any alcohol, I am not currently using. That is alot to hold onto in such a shall space.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Noo get rid of the drink dispenser! 😂
Dani dancing for joy after the cleaning cart slides away 🎉🎉 I love waking up to coffee & Dani every week ❤
The best!
We are all personally involved with her success in decluttering and organizing. 💓
@@colleenpeck6347 Team Dani! 📣
Something I learned as another ADHDer, a lot of us have trouble with object permanence (essentially, if it's not visible, it doesn't exist). Basically, a lot of us often forget something we "put away" if we don't see it frequently. Clear containers or high-traffic/high-visibility areas are good places for important things like medication.
You do the most relatable declutter. I've been following this one since dat 1. I learned that I'm an ADHD cluttered and fear hoarder.
Slow decluttering is the way for me: no time pressurre and no anxiety, yet firm stride forwards. Doing good with your help via this series!❤🎉
An organizational mullet. Priceless!
FYI, ground coffee is better than baking soda for absorbing fridge odors. I learned this after a power failure. Good use for old coffee and smells good too.
She is really making decisions quick! I love when she says “I don’t really need it.”
The fit of the cleaning cart was sooooooooooo satisfying... my jaw literally dropped... definitely worthy of that happy dance!
Could the bar cart and the wine go over by the TV area?
Wow wow wow! I think I say that every week Dani you must be thrilled to see all your stuff ready to use! Your banter has helped me think through some of my organizational needs. out of sight is lost in my house!
I’ve watched a lot of decluttering videos but Dani’s are my favorite. This is the most down to earth declutter I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad I’ve been here for this because I’ve learned a lot. I like the fact that April is not pushing her to get rid of stuff that is actually important to Dani. It’s rare in declutter videos. I’ve seen the look in people’s eyes where they’re heartbroken about getting rid of something that has meaning. It’s sad. For example I have a pair of pants my dad bought me when I was a teenager. They’re not fashionable, I’d never wear them but when I see them they bring back those memories of my dad being supportive of my personal style for the first time. We all have objects that mean something and to just blindly say get rid of it is crazy to me. So I’m happy to be here watching Dani’s journey.
Carla's Closet is fun also. She helps her best friend from childhood declutter to move to California.
It's called Carla Project.
@dia9491 maybe you could make a pillow from the jeans as Erica Lucas has made of her favourite jacket! If it's something you are never going to wear, at least that way you'll enjoy it more! ☺
Just for asthetics I would move the red cabinet towards the living room, so the order would be (from wall): bar cart, fridge, cupboard with microwave etc, baking station (cleaning cart would fit under it from the front, i think), then red cabinet.
I just think, that the red cabinet would be a good transition piece and nice to look at.
I like the clean simply look where the baking station and tucked cleaning cart are. The red cabinet would just bring back the cluttered look.
I agree. The red cabinet would be part living room/ part kitchen, so it would work well being where the 2 rooms meet.
Great job! The microwave’s new home is perfect. Huge improvement! 👏
i've been binge watching this entire series and I'm so amazed by both of you! excellent work all around, and just such a wonderful difference, even when it's chaotic
all this talk of a party to use the alcohol is reminding me of my own time living overseas. When it was time for me to return home, a friend and I combined our resources and hosted a "use the booze" party - and any alcohol we didn't drink, our guests took home with them lol
I'm so glad that Daji is aware that she is a visual organizer. That will help her tremendously to keep everything neat.
I love Spotted Dick !! It’s very much a traditional British sweet that you eat with custard . It’s basically sponge with dried fruit in it !! But we do find the name hilarious over here too !! 😂 x
It’s great to see Dani’s progress. Looking so good and keeps getting better. Paring down what we haven’t used in ages is an important reminder! 😊
The way I RAN to this video as soon as I woke up!! I have been loving this series and seeing how you two work together 🩵🩵 you’re both killing it!
i literally prefer to watch this instead of movies or shows 😅😂
I like how realistic Dani’s clutter is. We all have expired bits and bobs hiding away somewhere. Unless you’re super organized haha
Dani's face and her delayed processing of how the cleaning cart tucked perfectly is absolutely priceless, that might have been my favorite moment of the series!
👏👏👏😊. It’s amazing to see April gently guide Dani to an efficient, easier, charming maximalist home she can be proud of and maintain control of, have peace in and to maximize her real, now, living in. AND AMAZING to see Dani have so many moments of self awareness and understanding of the big picture AND seeing her ability to declutter grow every session!!! So inspiring!! Thank you for sharing this journey! I have to agree that a second pass everywhere would actually be soooooooo helpful, just like it was for your Mom, April. Now that Dani is seeing and feeling how having less inventory to manage, clean, think about, worry about, pay for space for and keep track of can give her more time, money, space, head space and freedom to do things she loves in her more streamlined but beautifully Dani style home she would probably see so much more she would want to declutter. Especially when everything just fits and feels pretty full now. That makes it almost impossible to maintain for her since we naturally all accumulate stuff literally every day and it needs space to go and we need the skills to move things out at the same rate they come in. The biggest challenge! Anyway….GREAT series. 😊
Once things are more manageable, you'll be able to have friebds over more so they can help going through the alcohol and crisps Dani! Also i've been eyeing that coffee table since the firat eoisode, it's gorgeous. So glad it's a permanently clear surface so you can really enjoy the rich wood.
The little whale mug goes up with the butter dish
Good point!
