Thank you for your video. It's super motivating 👍 You might want to try some BonAmi powder cleaner on that lazy-susan cabinet. It is non-toxic and super powerful cleaner.
I am in the same situation. We've lived in this house since 1989. My parents have retired to another state and have left me with the house - and 40 years worth of stuff! I was doing really well decluttering, but I got burned out. Watching you do the same thing has inspired me to start working on it again! My suggestion for the utensil drawers is expandable drawer dividers, used the long way. That way you can group the spatulas, knives, tongs, serving spoons, etc. It's made putting things away SO much easier for me!
Your mom has done such a good job making decisions about what she could get rid of. It's wonderful that you have been able to help your mom out like that - you two make a fantastic team!
So satisfying to see her letting go of so much. She’ll never miss what she didn’t know she had or used. This is her first pass through and she’ll probably let go of more in the future 😊
Yes! It takes three rounds on average for most people bc the first time you show your brain it's possible to let go, the second time you can remind your brain how good it felt last time, and by the third time you're a pro! 😁
I'm so impressed with your gentle and graceful approach to helping your Mom and Dad. Shame never works, anger is a waste, and regret just stalls progress. Your methodical approach was perfect and I love the family humor mixed in with the tasks. You definitely have a calling for this kind of work. I'm so glad your parents are ready to move on with their stuff. Congratulations to everyone for getting this off the ground!
A big thank you to your mom & dad for sharing this process with us. You're a sweet daughter to help your parents with this chore. My husband spent 21 years in the military so we had to declutter every 3 to 6 years (thank goodness) . My grandparents lived in the same house from 1950 to 1988. They were from the depression era and would NOT let us grandkids help with getting rid of anything 😅. It was a nightmare for my mom when they passed. Goid thinking of your parents to start now!😊😊
I think the sweetest thing about this 2 part series is that your Mom protected you; imagine this lady armed with printouts of those messages going to the Principal/ Teacher ready to fight for you. So wholesome.
In the rural area where I live two families have had their houses burn down in the last 18 months. So being able to find all of the treasures that your parents put by the street would be wonderful!
In my over 19 years of marriage I only ever had 2 oven mitts, one is 19 years old and the other one over 10. Videos like this confirm why I’m minimalistic
My mom bought me a new pair of oven mitts about 5 years ago. My old ones still function perfectly, they're just stained, so I keep using them. Whenever my mom comes over to visit she comments that the new oven mitts are going to be buried with me 😅
You’re such a nice daughter, to come help your mom.ive tried to hire someone and they were way to expensive, couldn’t afford them. Don’t have any friends who could help. I do have one friend who has offered but it’s such a mess, and I’m too embarrassed ,I can’t do much cause I’m disabled, not able to stand , or bend just can’t do much of anything. I thought I was making progress, but I made a bigger mess. She’s so lucky to have you. You did wonderful job. ♥️♥️👍👍🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for your videos! I discovered your channel maybe a week ago and I am a hoarder, I keep everything “in case I need them” and it is so difficult for me to get rid of anything ! Since I started watching your videos, I started getting rid of stuff and it is very difficult but it feels so good at the same time! Thank you and your mom is very lucky to have you!
My kitchen looks similar to your Mom's - orangey-wood cabinets and white appliances. I wanted to modernize it a bit, so I researched what color brings down the appearance of the orange wood, and I painted the kitchen an olive-based khaki/brown color. Sounds crazy, but it looks great! I replaced the cabinet hardware with modern dark metal knobs and handles. I used a de-greaser on the top of the cabinets (Superclean). And where the wood was water-stained or worn, I put a light coat of a matching wood stain on it. It looks like a different kitchen, for very little money!
You two were a great team. You removed every shelf and cabinet, handed things to your mom, decisions were made, and items sorted for keep, trash, or donate. And of course the kitties supervised. On cleaning the lazy Susans, Dawn Powerwash and a scrubby sponge will clean all that. Let the Dawn Powerwash sit for a bit.
I LOVE your moms old school mixing and baking bowls. It reminds me of the stuff my parents used to have when I was growing up. You just can't find good quality like that anymore, or at least not easily!
For the lazy Susans, try Dawn Professional Degreaser - it’s purple- spray it on and cover with plastic wrap/Saran Wrap stuff-and let it sit then try scrubbing. 👍
You guys did a great job decluttering. Also to fix the cabinet, you could cut out the part of the inside cabinet that was damaged, and attach new panels to those areas, then stain them to match if you want. ❤❤❤
I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now, and have to say, I LOVED this series!! You did such an amazing job in your mom’s kitchen!! I loved the audio clips of you guys laughing at different points, it was really cute. I was also cracking up when you said some of the cabinets were like a clown car with stuff endlessly being pulled out lol! I say that about my kids bureaus. I also loved the cat introductions too. Poor Elvis being old and senile 😆 I hope we get to see your mom in future videos!! ❤❤❤
What a great video and thank your mom for sharing with us. I need to declutter my kitchen cabinets - I think about it and then I get started with something else but this has inspired me to get moving on it!
Wow! Great job! For the lazy susan stains, try using a powdered detergent called TSP available at your home improvement store. It’s very dry so use some gloves. If you use it will hot water it will melt away dirt and grease. They’ll look new! 😉
As a daughter, you are a complete charm ! Energizer Bunny should be your first name. Myself, I have always been a “ less is more” kind of person. It’s great that you have the wisdom, which in turn, gives you the freedom, to enjoy your home and not being a slave to it ! 👍😊💕
Also the lazy Susan with the grime, try baking soda and vinegar with some dish soap and a scrubber. Should help if you let it sit then use some elbow grease 😊
So far this has been one of the most satisfying videos to see, your mom got rid of so much!! Good for her! I get really bad anxiety with clutter, but seeing how much your mom let go of, really was good to see ❤
Really great video and so much motivation. Im 53 and decluttered about 2 years ago. It has helped me enjoy life and also I no longer over consume. I ask "will this be in my declutter oile next Spring" , lol I have saved so much money.
Amazing job! You are a wonderful daughter, and your mom is a great sport. Just lovely. My suggestion for that corner cabinet is either a steamer or Dawn Power Wash and a scrub Daddy.
Dollar Tree, Target, etc. have narrow plastic baskets. I have very narrow drawers as well and they work beautifully! I also had damage to my cabinets and cannot replace them. I got a rubber under sink liner and put down a piece of thin paneling I found, tacked it down, and then added the rubber mat Looks nice and works well.
Great job with helping your mom, straight ammonia is what I would put on that Lazy Susan with paper towels, it should take it right off after soaking for a minute or two
Could you come to my house and declutter?! lol! As a 66 year old recovering cancer patient with a fractured back ( a side effect to radiation ) these chores are daunting. Any suggestions for those with physical and/or medical challenges?
Carol.. contact your local churches…does NOT matter your religious view😎 a lot have “groups” that want to help their local community. Contact your commissioners/ local government (we pay taxes😁) & you’ll be surprised by how many people want to help in your local community 🙏 I’m 64 & I am able to do some things..others are a challenge
Based on what you shared about your mom, I wish I knew her! She sounds like a very interesting woman. I would love to hear more about the sea glass! Also, she did something wonderful- she raised a daughter like you!
We added strip lights to our lazy susan area. It fabulous. I got more to add to other cabinets. Helped to see whats in the back of cabinets stocked up. You both did so fabulous on these cabinets. Love the kitties!!!
Absolutely incredible job ladies! I know it was a lot of work but I'm sure it was so worth it. One decluttering tip I have used over the years is to keep just the essentials - especially in the kitchen - and box up everything else and put dates on the box. Then I set an amount of time that I will allow myself to keep the box of stuff I never use. Of course, I would go into the boxes and take things out that I needed. Everything else turned out to be stuff I could get rid of.
It is funny what our parents keep, isn't it? Again, that is so nice that you are helping your parents. Amazing the after. Loving your declutter series. Thank you for sharing.
This was another fabulous video, Catherine. I just love how you are helping your parents. You know they totally appreciate this. Those teeth were hilarious. Maybe Dawn powerwash and a scrubbing sponge will help that one cabinet. I can't wait to see more.
You gave me so much motivation, I would love to clean and declutter my moms house but she is not on board for that. Congratulations to you mom for her new kitchen, I bet she loves it
Wowizer your mom had much stuff…., Good thing she had you to help her, it’s always good to buddy up someone on clearing out stuff…. Thank you for sharing!
This was a lot of fun to watch especially the teeth it's so nice to see a mother and daughter who enjoy each other. I like this method of decluttering and organizing very much. It doesn't result in huge mountains of items which is so overwhelming
Catherine, I am loving this series. I have a home like this and am in the process of decluttering. I will watch every part because it is so inspiring. Will you be helping with the whole house?
Another channel uses a product called power paste. I've used it myself with great results. You can also try liquid Barkeepers Friend for set in stains. Put it on, spread it around and let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub it.
Our cats are neither old nor senile, and they get on the counters all the time! Maybe it's a cat owner thing, but it truly doesn't bother me. We just wipe down the counters with antibacterial spray before we cook or eat -- it is what it is! Loved seeing your furry "helpers" in this video.
I wonder for the lazy susan if you use a scrub daddy and dawn powerwash. When I had moved into my home, there was a layer of film on some cabinets. I just sprayed the cabinets ans let the powerwash sit for a few minutes and then scrubbed it with the scrub daddy and hot water...
Wow you girls sure got rid of a lot!! That’s awesome! Loved seeing the cats. They are always so curious and love checking out small spaces. Just subscribed!! 😊❤
I feel like your parent’s house looks like a lot of homes for people their age (or at least similar to my parents and aunt’s and uncle’s houses!). What amazing transformations and motivation!
Hi Catherine! This is another great decluttering video! Even though it is a lot of work, I’m glad that you and your Mom got a chance to reminisce too! I’m sure they are enjoying all of the extra space each time you do a section! Can’t wait for the next one!
The series are amazing and very satisfying 😍😍😍😍 I'm so happy for your mom to have a simple kitchen I do the same everytime I'm in my parents house, and It makes me feel so happy
i enjoyed this so much!! Your Mom and I have so many of the same items ... the cabinets, tupperware, pyrex and even the teeth. I save all the baby teeth and even fallen whiskers of my pets. It brings good luck😉🐾

Thank you for your video. It's super motivating 👍 You might want to try some BonAmi powder cleaner on that lazy-susan cabinet. It is non-toxic and super powerful cleaner.
A steamer might make quick work of stubborn, grimy areas
I like that your mom got rid of sooo much and not trying to hang on to everything. Great job ladies!!
She was ruthless 👏🏻
Your mom must be so relieved to have all this cleared out. Thank you for helping her do something she clearly has never been able to do herself.
Crudcutter is great for cleaning tough areas.❤
I am in the same situation. We've lived in this house since 1989. My parents have retired to another state and have left me with the house - and 40 years worth of stuff! I bet it's a huge relief to let go of so many things! I would love a playlist for the declutter of your parents house (for binge watching purposes 😄)

Pink Stuff is an amazing cleaner.
Yep! That's my suggestion too. With a Scrub Mommy or Scrub Daddy.
I loved this
The real life the real home of a family and not some “Pinterest worthy crap” ❤❤

Kitties are the supurrvisors! They're most likely curious about a cabinet not yet explored! 💖🐱💖🐱
I love how willing your mom was to let so much go. I am sure it feels like she can breathe easier in that space now that it's not packed full.
In the rural area where I live two families have had their houses burn down in the last 18 months. So being able to find all of the treasures that your parents put by the street would be wonderful!

I love this series! Your Mother is so lucky to have your help. Great job!
Great job for letting it all go. If you can’t get the shelf clean you can line them with contact paper.
Yes, I was going to ask her if her mom would buy shelf liners for drawers and shelves.
The cats! Love them “helping”… I have 8! (Small farmstead). They keep the small critters at bay… love that they are all in your business
You’re such a nice daughter, to come help your mom.ive tried to hire someone and they were way to expensive, couldn’t afford them.

I was thinking the same thing
I LOVE your moms old school mixing and baking bowls. It reminds me of the stuff my parents used to have when I was growing up. You just can't find good quality like that anymore, or at least not easily!
They don’t make anything the same anymore!
Yes this video give me a lots motivation for declutter, I don’t want my kitchen full of, thank you Catherine
For the lazy Susans, try Dawn Professional Degreaser - it’s purple- spray it on and cover with plastic wrap/Saran Wrap stuff-and let it sit then try scrubbing. 👍
My mom is exactly as like as your mom ... she keeps everything... literally EVERYTHING 😅❤
Same 😂 although she cleared a fair bit out a few years ago
I love my corner lazy Susan. I use it for Dutch ovens and small appliances like my blender and waffle maker. Years ago I used it for canned food.
Amazing job mom!!! You’re a wonderful daughter to help. ❤
Thank you so much!
You guys did a great job decluttering. Also to fix the cabinet, you could cut out the part of the inside cabinet that was damaged, and attach new panels to those areas, then stain them to match if you want. ❤❤❤
Just found your channel..ny mom had one of those meat grinders!! She actually used it!!😊😊❤ ocd gf here! Always up for decluttering !!😊❤

Heck yes, I love this! Great work!!! I'm a professional organizer with my own business and this is what I do every day. It's super fun for me! 😂
What a great video and thank your mom for sharing with us. I need to declutter my kitchen cabinets - I think about it and then I get started with something else but this has inspired me to get moving on it!
I will!! Thank you for watching!
The cabinet that had the oven mitts in it was the weirdest cupboard ever lol
The teeth clip was hilarious 😂
Lols I was not expecting that 😂
What a great job you and your mom are doing! Use some "Liquid Gold" on her cabinets and they will look so good, just an idea. Keep up the good work!
Wow! Great job! For the lazy susan stains, try using a powdered detergent called TSP available at your home improvement store. It’s very dry so use some gloves. If you use it will hot water it will melt away dirt and grease. They’ll look new! 😉
Great job!! The kitties are so cute 🥰🥰
Wow, just wow. Good job! Also love the cats wandering in and out of the cabinets.
As a daughter, you are a complete charm ! Energizer Bunny should be your first name. Myself, I have always been a “ less is more” kind of person. It’s great that you have the wisdom, which in turn, gives you the freedom, to enjoy your home and not being a slave to it ! 👍😊💕
That house, those cabinet pulls - so nostalgic for an 80s baby! Cute! 😊
Also the lazy Susan with the grime, try baking soda and vinegar with some dish soap and a scrubber. Should help if you let it sit then use some elbow grease 😊
I'm so proud of your mom

Holy moly that was great to get stuff out. It will be so much easier to use that kitchen now.

So glad you helped your mom, so wonderful!
Magic eraser and Goo Gone. Good job!

Great job, I was psyched when you took off the top of the cabinets!
Try Bar Keeper’s Friend for the dirty yellow lazy Susan. Works wonders! 😄
Based on what you shared about your mom, I wish I knew her! She sounds like a very interesting woman. I would love to hear more about the sea glass! Also, she did something wonderful- she raised a daughter like you!
You did an amazing job with that kitchen. I love the cats 💕🐈⬛

HMM , I like that X tiles, I clicked into the site. I like how it feels like Microsoft Planner and Pintrest. Very cool and interactive.
I'm sure the kitchen functions so much better now!
Wow! Gorgeous 'afters'! Your mom was sure 'ready'!
Wowizer your mom had much stuff….,
Good thing she had you to help her, it’s always good to buddy up someone on clearing out stuff….
Thank you for sharing!
It's amazing how much she managed to cram into those cabinets!!! Great job decluttering.
WOW WOW WOW!! Fantastic decluttering girls!! Fun video series! And Elvis…❤❤❤
So nice of you t help your mom out. I miss my dad and grandparents
Yes the depression glass is valuable. 😊
Method degreaser works well for grimy kitchen stuff. Spray on and let it sit for a couple of minutes.
You’re doing such a great job. So many tossy, tossy items.
Great video! Really enjoyed both videos from your parent’s house. What a gift to help them declutter and make it easier for them!
So awesome of you to do this for your parents ❤
Wow! Your Mom did an amazing job getting rid of all that clutter!❤❤❤
I've been waiting for part two!! 😍
I love your videos. You helping mom is wonderful. I so need that too!
The cats are hilarious. They are having a wonderful time.

This was a lot of fun to watch especially the teeth it's so nice to see a mother and daughter who enjoy each other. I like this method of decluttering and organizing very much. It doesn't result in huge mountains of items which is so overwhelming

Great video as always Catherine❤
It is so nice that you could help your mom and she was ready to get rid of a lot of stuff. The teeth 🤣 I would use barkeepers friend on the cabinet.
Omg how many cats are there 😍? I'm positively LIVING 🥰 whenever I see one on screen, trying to "help" 😂
She has 4! Hahaha
Ur a fantastic Daughter!
Excellent job! Ur such a Blessing 2 Ur parents!
👏👏👏👍💞
I wonder for the lazy susan if you use a scrub daddy and dawn powerwash. When I had moved into my home, there was a layer of film on some cabinets. I just sprayed the cabinets ans let the powerwash sit for a few minutes and then scrubbed it with the scrub daddy and hot water...
Wow you girls sure got rid of a lot!! That’s awesome! Loved seeing the cats. They are always so curious and love checking out small spaces. Just subscribed!! 😊❤
Awesome, you ladies did a great job. It is amazing what we collect over the years
I feel like your parent’s house looks like a lot of homes for people their age (or at least similar to my parents and aunt’s and uncle’s houses!). What amazing transformations and motivation!
I agree!!
I honnestly would take the lazy suzen appart. That is what I did and its so practicle
Hi Catherine! This is another great decluttering video! Even though it is a lot of work, I’m glad that you and your Mom got a chance to reminisce too! I’m sure they are enjoying all of the extra space each time you do a section! Can’t wait for the next one!
We had the best time!
The series are amazing and very satisfying 😍😍😍😍 I'm so happy for your mom to have a simple kitchen
I do the same everytime I'm in my parents house, and It makes me feel so happy
I can totally relate, I have haelped my dad as well, good he doesn't go shopping anymore 😅 Thanks for your videos Catherine, have a nice weekend ❤️
Have a great weekend! Thank you so much!
i enjoyed this so much!! Your Mom and I have so many of the same items ... the cabinets, tupperware, pyrex and even the teeth. I save all the baby teeth and even fallen whiskers of my pets. It brings good luck😉🐾
I really enjoyed this videos especially all the funny moments you shared with your momma ♥️ she must have been so relieved with all your help 💯🤩
