Are you going to fine tune this mod, like kaze did with his sm64 60fps? That's because I noticed some things move too quickly, like the level transitions, camera speeds, yoshis flutter jump, climbing up a tree, chain chomps ai is too quick and some other things as well
it's because the game speeds up once the framerate is 30fps+. you can try it out on desmume or melonDS, once you uncap the framerate. the game speeds up like crazy as the game was never meant to be played in 60fps.
@@bo1Goi14 Still ways to improve it, there was a similar patch for the OG SM64 which also had physics tied to frame rate that was solved by only calculating the physics every other frame
Just did a whole run of this on MelonDS and while it's awesome, it does leave something to be desired. Chain-chomp, Bully, and other enemy AI is left at 2x and Tiny Huge Island is completely unplayable. I had to convert my save and play the un-patched ROM just to beat that level but that was the only HUGE issue. Totally playable and beatable if you like your m64ds a little harder
I did a near full-playthrough of this and managed to get 140 stars. There are three stages that crash, one of them is in Big Boo's Haunt when you go through a specific door, the other one is in Jolly Roger Bay when you approach Unagi the Eel, and finally the Huge version of Tiny-Huge Island crashes on one big section, making it completely unplayable.
This is a really cool hack! It's actually difficult to go back to the original rate. I always feel like control response is better in 60fps as well. So thanks a ton. I don't know if you're accepting bug reports or not. I've not played too far into it yet. But some animations and timed elements are too fast and some events are broken. Collecting and using keys seems to be out of sync with the animations (the animation on the keys will move faster than the characters themselves). A lot of enemies move much faster than normal. Swallowing enemies with Yoshi can also be buggy sometimes, he would sometimes fail to actually turn them into an egg and the enemy would just reappear onscreen as he tried to swallow them. Wing Cap flight is more difficult to control, but you CAN adjust with practice. Though these issues are more cosmetic in nature, or just increase the difficulty somewhat. The one game-breaking glitch i've found though is the Penguin race in Cool Cool Mountain. At the end of the race, he crosses the finish line but never comes out of his sliding animation. You can't collect this star. Obviously you don't need to collect every star to beat the game, but it won't be possible to 100% complete the game. There may well be more glitches beyond this, but i've only played through the first Bowser fight and not even collected all the stars up to then as well. I'll have to test further, something i'm interesting in doing. Either way, if these glitches can't or won't be fixed, it's still a very fun hack that I really enjoy.
Thanks for the response, sorry for not thanking you earlier. I didn't get notified for some reason. Will test it out though. EDIT- that seems to have fixed the penguin issue. I'll test the other things as well, but thanks for the fix!
@@gamemasterplc Oh ok. SM64DS already has better graphics and a better performance than the N64 version but the silky smooth 60fps is a good edition. Fun fact the SM64DS usually goes at 30 fps but can sometimes drop to between 30 and 25 fps. The N64 version is less consistant and lags more. The N64 version lags between 30 and 20fps.
the problem is that most of Mario's animations (except maybe the run animation) are still preset to a lower frame rate while everything in the background is running at 60fps.

I've spent all week clearing all the stages, getting all 150 stars, finding secrets and unlocking every character, but alas, I still can't find who the frick asked.
I tried this on a hacked DSi with forced double clock speed and bob-omb battlefield goes from 20-30fps to 30-60fps. so it's still not playable with the full power of the DSi :( I expect the same result if you force double click speed on 3ds too.
Definitely noticed a change. Looks great, good job!

its because the game speeds up when it's not capped at 30fps. you can try this on melonds, if you uncheck audio sync, the game speeds up like crazy.
The game should always been like this is so smooth
wait a minute:
You can have UA-cam videos with 420p60?!
Not really but it shows up as 480p60. It really is over 720 tall.
Sm64ds PC port CONFIRMED
I never knew it was possible to do 480p in 60fps.
That’s because the height is actually greater than 480 and the video is much taller than wide.

Aplique este parche con un parcheador xdelta en la ROM NTSC-U 1.1. Este parche tiene algunos problemas con retrasos de hasta 30 FPS en ciertas etapas.

how did you made that mod ? Is it memory hack or files update of the rom ? Thanks
Now I Wanna See Mario Kart DS At 60FPS
