for those of you coming to this video 2 year later to check if this fightstick is good for your first fight stick, the answer is yes. However, if your looking into upgrading this stick with a Korean lever for games like Tekken, then you're gonna have to physically mod the shell of the case to fit the larger stick into this case. What I mean by that is that your going to have to drill a larger hole into the base of where the stick connects to in order to fit the stick. If your just going to use this stick with Japanese levers, then you'll be fine. I've upgraded mine with different buttons and a different stick and it's amazing. I love this stick and I would highly recommend this.

The stock stuff is semi-acceptable but if you want a little more top quality feel and no excuses, the Sanwa stuff drops right in. Great review. I've got one on the way as I type this. Looking to use this for the 30th Anniversary Street Fighter Collection next week. I want that true arcade feel from back in the day.
Just picked one up today and installed the octagonal restrictor plate immediately. Messed around in MK11 with it and I love this thing. I mean... 60 bucks!? I couldn't pass on it especially since I'm completely new to arcade/fighter sticks. Nice review!
Thanks for the review and good to hear it's more than decent. I'd want a stick for nothing more than messing around with the classic fighting/arcade games, nothing serious. But I stil don't want a pile of crap, I'm no expert but I used to spend a lot of time in arcades and know a horrible stick from a good one. Getting flashbacks of that really tall, rought textured stick with the big 'pill box' shaped top, it was always loose and felt like there were no gate at all.
OMG the prices in the philippines are insane!! I saw it on amazon for $60 which is about 3,000 pesos which is not that bad considering the performance of it, but when I saw the prices on lazada(the asian version of amazon) I was stunned, it was 11,000 pesos which is about 200 dollars. And I knew the prices would be a bit higher since it would be imported here but i didnt know it would be that much. Thanks for the recommendation tho!!
Thanks for this review! I've been thinking about getting a fight stick and this was the one I had my eyes on. It looks nice and I'm only buying one for small personal use at home. This one seems perfect and now I'm confident this is the one for me. Also, the setup was so nice and comfy. I really enjoy it.
For the Mayflash F300, I recommend a light blue sanwa button with a green rim for X/A, a red sanwa button with a red rim for circle/B, a pink sanwa button with a dark blue rim for square/X, a green sanwa button with a yellow rim for triangle/Y and four black sanwa buttons with black rims for the L1/LB, L2/LT, R1/RB and R2/RT buttons. And as for the lever, a Myoungshin Fanta.
I have an F300 and I can confirm it's super easy to mod. I added a Sanwa JLF stick with a Freakmod (mandatory upgrade), and replaced the buttons for Sanwa Silent Gen 2s. I really didn't have anything against the stock buttons, in fact, I thought they had a very satisfying feel, and were very clicky, which I think is cool. However, my GF typically sleeps earlier than me, and my gaming rig is in the room, so I needed to silence the F300 so that I could play without waking her up.

I'm glad that there are some cheaper alternatives like this, but i definitely wish they made it bigger. like I don't care if the extra area is just empty space on the inside, i just want more space! also, looks kinda dumb having to plug in an extra controller to use it on consoles, as I dont want to be lugging around 2 controllers wherever i go, but hey its $70 so it still seems worth it for the price.
@@ClwkInstnct maybe in the 2000s, but nowadays most of any good fight sticks just have it all built internally. they have PCBs inside that mimic the behavior of a controller, but they get pretty expensive if you want it do be universally compatible. @@GameHeadNes Lucky. I remember like 20 years ago they were selling these for like $70 or so that were officially from Capcom for Street Fighter games. I knew some friends that built theirs from scratch plywood and all. I like the way the Mayflash looks, but it's somewhat small. Interested in playing MVC2 again and maybe MVC3 with an actual fightstick since being on lockdown gets boring LOL!
ty man I needed this video
Thanks you have convinced me, cheers.
Just order mine cant wait😁
What is that expensive stick your comparing it to at 2:29?
TE stick by MadCatz
I own one I love it
having to plug your controller is pretty lame but I guess its because it isn't a Licensed product. I might get the Elite version with the sanwa parts considering its priced in line with diy upgrade part. thanks for the video mate, I damaged my left thumb pretty bad and moving to stick is my solution
Does it work with a ps5
I'll probably get it. I want to see if I like playing stick before I spend hundreds of dollars on a more expensive option.
Really amazing stick. The only bad thing is that you have to plug the controller in it, so you necessarily need two controllers if you want to play with a friend
I know this may be a weird question, but did anyone's fightstick come shrink-wrapped? Mine did not and I am curious as to how they prevent theft of this stick. Almost everything these days is shrink- wrapped, but not this stick?
Hi Sr I am interested in buying but just one question how do you recharge this F300 Stick. Or you need it to be blocked in always?
Hey man I know this video is old at this point but I just wanna say it's a little sketchy that you used a referral link in the description, hid it behind a url shortener, and then didn't mention that at all in the beginning of the video... I can't help but feel like this video could be biased. I'm not saying it is, but I feel like if you wanna sell your audience on a legitimately good product you shouldn't do these tactics...
I get what your saying brother but I bought this stick with my own money long before I even started the referral program. Nothing bias about this review the stick is awesome and I still use it to this day. I changed it and made a side note that it's a referred link.
ANYONE WHO BOUGHT THIS, PLEASE GRAB YOURSELF THE MAGIC BOOTS DEVICE ON AMAZON. You'll be doing yourself a great service! It eliminates the need for a controller. You also have the option of buying an adapter like the Magic S pro or a TitanOne etc
Excellent review! Thanks!
1 dislike is Hori
Nick Dahl Hori is the best. Mayflash is for losers and poor people.
DexZetsu why are you mad about people not having enough money to own higher end sticks?
@@DexZeth nope. It's for people who are smart enough to get stuff at good quality and cheap pricing. At least for these sticks. Hori sells much more expensive stick for the price of a tournament edition.
@@abrogaming5976 But you're spending $80 on a cheaply made shitty mini-stick. How does that make you any smarter? If anything, the people who buy these are dumber. If you want something good, then spend good money. You get what you pay for.
I own 3 Hori sticks, 2 Dreamcast sticks (I think those are Agetec), and this stick.
Obviously the Hori sticks are beyond great, but this stick isn't too bad for what it is.
I'm just happy that more people are staying true to stick. I went to a convention a few weeks ago and it seemed EVERYONE was using pad.
Either way, to each their own. Just enjoy the games and be happy.
Gonna pick one up for mk11 in a few weeks, cant wait!
mk11 on stick LUL
Gonna be honest, mk11 just feels better on pad imo
What’s the name of the sound track in the back ground?
> Sleepless - Drizzle (it's not on youtube but i found it on spotify)
> Lullaby - Justin
> Niềm Nở Bốn Bốn - quang thành
Love the retro PS4 and controller.
Played FighterZ for about a year or so, moved onto Tekken 7, it's been a few months for that game. Only used a ps4 pad. Definitely getting this, man this is really going to feel weird moving from a ps4 pad to a stick isn't it?
How is it with stick now. I want to see if its worth it for MK 11
whats the game at 4:38? It reminds me of a game i used to play in Mcdonalds as a child :D
Cuphead
I have the x arcade tank stick but looking for something more compact will this work for steam fighting games?
Yes it will.
@@GameHeadNes great I'll check it out
What is the name of your PS4 Theme
Did you try the 8bitdo N30 stick? Do you know wich one is the best option?
i got a question: I have an Andriod TV and a PS4 controller connected wirelessly. So can I just hook the stick with my PS4 controller and play the games in the Andriod TV? thks
Will this work on Xbox Series? I know xbox one controllers and wheels work on XSS/XSX. Just want to confirm
It does
whats the best option to go with, so that i can upgrade it with korean taeyoung stick in the future? can this arcade stick be upgraded like that? wihout too much hassle
This did not work for me for my f300 mayflash for my ps4... the stick does not respond being everything connected.. the settings on the stick have been copied from a tutorial and still not working. This really sucks
For ps4 does it need to be plugged in to the controller all the time or just to initially map the buttons?
Do you have any modding recommendations for this stick?
The stock buttons aren't bad, but feel a little mushy. Throw some Sanwas in there. Also get an octagonal gate for the stick. I also put a Sanwa stick in mine, but the stock one is pretty good.
4 pound tension spring for the lever japanese sanwa lever and buttons and get the rubber washer inserts to make the buttons quieter so you don't annoy your girl or family at night with your clicks clacks
Great video want to ask what the names of the music you used in the video?
does it work with tekken 7 for steam?
works with PS2 ? I already have HORI REAL ARCADE PRO KAI 4 AND MADCATZ TE 2+ but none of them work on PS2
No it doesn't.
Jinjo Bread thanks
I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering.
1. Do you have to have the Xbox controller plugged in all the time?
2. Can I use this stick while it rests on my lap? Is it comfortable to play on my lap as well?
Thank you for this video.
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed.
1. Unfortunately yes, it needs the Xbox one and or PS4 controller plugged in. It works with the switch right out of the box though.
2. Yes I use it comfortably on my lap all the time.
Hope this helps.
@@GameHeadNes Thank you, I ordered this off Amazon and it comes soon. I'm really excited to play DBFZ and Ultra Street Fighter 4 with it.
Question: what about comfort? I see there's not a big space available for the left hand.
How does it compare to the Hori Fighting Stick Mini? Can you play with it on your lap comfortably? Having a PS4 controller connected seems a little off for me.
Its way better than the Hori mini. The buttons on this one are full sized.
i never tried a fighting stick, and i'm going to learn fighting games to be my main now, i wanna get good and learn, specially DBFZ, so should i buy this one or Qanba Drone ?
I'm wondering too,I'll pick this one up tommorow because as far I've read, you'll change out the components one day or another
Only reason you would want to avoid this one is if you can't get comfortable with mini sticks (lap placing) otherwise Mayflash are pretty solid starter sticks
Qanba Drone. Qanba is a well known brand with a full sanwa set.
Is the button configuration the same as the traditional street fighter button configuration? I looking to get one to play street fighter but dont want to have to customize button configurations in the menu
Yup. Traditional SF button config.
Actually for most arcade sticks maybe even all of them, you have to have the controller plugged in.
@@ClwkInstnct maybe in the 2000s, but nowadays most of any good fight sticks just have it all built internally. they have PCBs inside that mimic the behavior of a controller, but they get pretty expensive if you want it do be universally compatible. This one having to have a controller plugged in is probably a way to make the internals cheaper, because it would be a lot more expensive to have it built using a chip that's able to mimic all controllers right off the bat. So for the price this ones features are pretty good, but it's far from the way all arcade sticks are.
@@deddrz2549 true. But I can't afford a good one so I'm willing to have to take the risk
@@ClwkInstnct Yah, this is probably your best bet anyways cuz at least it can play on different consoles overall, and buying better buttons is really cheap so it should be fine. Good luck!
Use that for kof xiii to execute drive cancel combos. It's still good ?
I know this video is about the stick but what is the TV your playing on?
Can anyone help with some advice I try 2 play Fighterz with my brother. But my controller keeps disconnecting while plugged into my mayflash stick I can't seem to figure out the problem. But with Tekken and MK11 it has no problems
Do you plug the usb from the joystick to the switch or the computer?
I'm trying to get into competitive Blazblue, would this be good as a starting tool, maybe to mod later as well?
Yes. Definitely
GameHead Nes alright cool! Amazon Prime day is later today. I'll get it then! Thanks for the quick response
You earned yourself a new sub
does anyone know how to pug the arcade stick to the nintendo switch? i cant seem to figure it out
hey Nes does the ps4 controller still work as a 2nd controller if you plug it in to the stick
No
I have that since 2016 and i updated and upgraded all parts with sanwa buttons and 8 way stick. its solid..
So does it charge the PS4 controller while using the arcade stick?
Anyone know of an adaptor to allow a USB arcade stick like this one to work on say a Wii? or a Gamecube? Or an N64? Looking for an Arcade stick that can do it all when it comes to Nintendo consoles
Im plugging this into my switch but it isnt activating. Any ideas?
It's needs to be updated via pc to work on switch
Can you use your headset with it if it is connected to the the Xbox one/ps4 controller
Do I have to use an xbox one wired controller ,or is there a way to hook a USB cord up to an xbox one wireless controller and hook it to the fight stick ?
I have a wireless Xbox one controller hooked up through USB. It works just fine.
@@GameHeadNes thank you. I ordered the f500 because Amazon gave me a 70 dollar gift card for signing up for their card. I didn't really need another card with nothing on it but hey ,some lady at Macys talked me into one for some cologne samples a few weeks ago so...
Do you think the f300 would work well with anime fighters? Like blaze blue/fighterz ( Edit: I just saw the fighterz gameplay, is it good with cancelling your low medium into standing medium into long combos?)
Ricky it's really not much different from most other sticks. The parts are pretty much sanwa clones and feel very similar. And an upgrade to an actual sanwa jlf costs like 20$. I have the f500 the slightly more expensive version. Had the same parts and I used them just fine until I got sanwa stick and buttons. From there its the same as your typical 200$ madcatz stick.
Ryodakun can you direct me to where you got your parts? My f300 just came in, would love to play using sanwa parts instead, I hear so much about them
In your opinion, which one is a better stick, the Venom or the Mayflash f300??
Do you have a ps4?
My one has a cover on the controller port and it’s not coming off
The turbo buttons are for shmup players. I know people tend to think of these as "fight sticks" but they're used for more than fighting games.
Only thing I dislike about this stick is always having a control plugged to it, is there a way around it?
You can purchase a mayflash magic boots adapter so you don’t have to use a controller. It’s basically just a usb flash drive type adapter that you plug into the USB port of the controller. That way it’s a lot more portable and less hassle. Just plug and play. They have one for the PS4, XBOX ONE, and 360. BTW they are usually around 18 USD on amazon.
Better or equal to the PXN one?
Do you guys know how to connect HORI RAP N for ps4? My stick came with a japanese manual and i cant connect it :/
It is a great stick but it cuts off on my PS4 pad. Has that ever happened to you?
Im having trouble making it work in sfv
what about f500 there is any big different between them? - and sorry for being late
