drasticg this could be your little local business
@@tommytuson1846 im not sure it would be a profitable but i enjoy it as a hobby
You're right man that did turn out sick drastic.
Some ad(vice) on the vice though...Get that in the electrolysis tank dude haha
I will be doing its a near future restoration
@@drasticg Nice 1 bro keep doing what you're doing....Love the channel man...
I know all the bridges you've been at in the manchester and oldham areas...Some mint finds
I don't know why I'm obsessed with these tool restoration videos but they are seriously addicting!
Cool, have you seen my dedicated restoration channtl? Called drasticg ptojects
Great job, you could have skipped the electrolysis though if you were going to clean it with the grinder :)
Exactly what i was thinking.
Wow! That sledge hammer looks superb! Just shows the quality of the metalworkers years ago.
These items where made to last a lifetime unlike the cheap rubbish sold today.
Totally agree mate
You’re actually so intelligent. Amazing job! I magnet fish too and watching your videos is great for ideas on how I can restore old items. Thanks mate!😁
No problem, hope you find some cool stuff
Can't believe that I just watched 12 minutes of you polishing up an old hammer head. It was so worth it, you made it interesting as you always do. Was thinking you could go to a craft fair and sell these things, with the history people would part with good money to own it.
Thats and interesting idea mate and i will look into that in the future pal
Dude, you did a fantastic job! Great work. I never knew rusted metal could be saved like what you have done. I wish you lots of success and wealth.
thanks kevin the results are still shocking me to
HOLY COW!! It's like a work of art!!!
Not as good as your art mate
@@drasticg Haha it turned out beautifully though
Cheers pal im glad you think so and i cant wait to do some more
Absolutely stunning my friend! Some folks might say it is silly to use a thousand dollars worth of tools to save a ten dollar hammer head. But I wouldn't be one of them. Great video! thanks for taking us along!
Cheers pal appreciate the kind comments
You Sir are a tool savior.. God Bless you
Thankyou mate
I love the base line on this original sound track ,, keep it going
Cheers buddy
Loved the new style of video! Mind blown how shiney it came out
Thanks pal, glad you like it snx im suprised how clean it came up

Если бы ни вы,и ваша робота,лежать бы этому молотку на дне канала и медленно гнить,а вы дали ему вторую жизнь,лайк однозначно,Удачи и новых видео.

Ace video Gareth
You need to put your vice in the electrolysis tank I think!
Hawk eye lol 😂

ha ha
@@drasticg we knew it would be soon! with this new bit of kit! Lol, keep up the good work mate! Respect!!!👌👊👍
@@jkbenzley will do mate thanks
You need a vise to hold things while you use both hands to control the tools! Nice job!
Cheers for the advice
Nice bit of kit G, that restoration was very impressive
Thanks pal im still experimenting
Absolutely brilliant. You seem like such a genuinely nice guy. Keep the great work up!
thanks pal im just a down to earth guy
Wow never would i of thought anybody could get that from rusty as hell to that shiny, crazy, well done mate
thanks gazz it took a while but was worth it
@@drasticg definately, like you said i would hang it on the wall, looks far too nice to hit anything with. I subbed to your projects channel after seeing that.

It realy looks like new. Great job
looks better than new lol
Great job. Now you can the vice next.
Yep that will be done soon
Really nice Kobe there Gareth, but you’re going to be cleaning that stuff off the walls and ceiling for a while 🤣 you need to build a containment box around that thing.
your right mate, my best way of learning lol trial and error
drasticg that’s the best way to learn 🤣👍
Probably best getting an extractor fan fitted and wearing a face mask in future 😄
@@anthonybenham2889 that may be a good idea ha ha
... ABSOLUTELY Awesome! Cook, USA
thankyou mate

@@jasonparker597 i have a playlist showing you everything you need to know
I have watch them all and thank you and one of your video you won’t not far from where I lived in Thamesmead
@@jasonparker597 cool do you magnet fish?
Wow that looks stunning. You did a great job Gareth!
Thanks im glad you think so
That's not a tool anymore. That's art. Well done sir. DrastiG's version of Thor's Hammer
ha ha thanks mate i love it and wont be hitting things with this one
Try using a wire wheel on the next one and see if you get a different result and compare them. A grinding disk can be quite harsh. It’s great that you are showing how to save pieces rather than just turning them in for scrap.
I love upcycling lol
absolutely stunning!!!!
Thankyou
Very good restoration hammer 👍👍👍🔨🔨🔨🔨
Thanks
Keep up the restoration videos they are amazing
CHEERS
thanks
Yep defo
Top work.

Very nice job I think you need a restoration job on the vice next 😂
That is next in line ha ha
Beautiful job. I swear these restorations have become such a joy for me to watch
I’d love to see you do a Celtic axe if you ever get your hands on one. Have you ever reinforced anything like a weapon? Those are also pretty interesting.
What do you mean by reinforced?
Gareth Bryer sharpen it and make it stronger
I got three lumps like this from MD'ing. Had no idea you could get them blinged like that. Well done.
Cheers mate, im still shocked they came out so well
Looks brand new :D
Thanks mate
This was so cool to watch.
Thanks
That’s actually sick! Should put your logo or name somewhere on the handle. Reminds me of (Alec Steele’s) channel! Great job
Same!
Oh thats a top idea mate thanks fr that
Thanks
Man you really wouldn't want to use the hammer again after that it's a work of art now.
i will never use it lol its a wall hanger
Am sending U my 97 year old sledge, to restore...Have fun!
yesssss cant wait lol
This is hysterically amazing. You've done a fantastic job creating a piece you'd be more apt to find in a museum than on a tool rack.
This was great to watch. Cheers!
Thankyou, glad you liked it
A before and after weight would be cool to see roughly how much it loses, maybe even after each bit of the process.
Cool idea mate i like it
That was amazing!! And your editing has come on soooo much from your earlier videos. Well done 👍
thanks ashley, im still learning the editing process and all self taught lol
cheers pal
drasticg no problem it’s a pleasure just watching!

@@arranmcleish1399 really? i reply to all my comments
Looks good, but, mount that polisher on a pedastal it'll be easier to use and more effective.
Thanks fir the idea mate

Almost like magic!
Thanks im glad you think so lynn
Now you can enact your revenge on those thieves!
If i ever found out who it was i sure would
Nice job
Thanks
Wow came up real nice. The great thing about restoring tools is they pay you back by using them. Unless you put them on the wall of course 😂
Ha ha ha be a shame to use it now
Wow!!! Love it!
Thankyou
While I certainly applaud you in refurbishing that back to such a new looking shiny tool, what would you possibly use it on now? I would be afraid to use it and get it marred up now.
I wont be using it but im putting it on my wall as decoration for my workshop
Hello mate I think the markings are the weight of the sledge in this case a 9 pounder I may be wrong great job though its beautiful
thanks for letting me know mate
Really?? Well done! Good job on this!! Waiting for next one!! :)
Thanks pal all my future restorations will be on my second channel drasticg projects
Satisfying!
Thanks
Quality mate 👍🏻
Thankyou
That's incredible!
thanks pal it blew me away
I would also bring the grinder/polisher closer to the bench edge, better to move around and not stretch over to the tool..
O cool thanks for the tip
In order to get a flawless shine you need to have a designated wheel for each of the waxes. If it were me, I'd try a final buff with red, aka jewelers rouge. I know steel is harder than gold or silver but it will polish up as you have seen. - Your very own Mjölnir.
If he’d flattened each beveled surface the polish would looked better also, rather than having a ripples surface with peaks and valleys all over.
Class that Gaz nice
cheers pal
thats fucking awesome almost as good as the magnet fishing, what a wicked finish to it, def sharing this video.
thanks for sharing mate and glad you liked it
