  • In this video I’m getting rid of the terrible Honda v6 valve tick by adjusting the valves. This should be done every 100,000 miles or when valve covers are done.
Intake Valve spacing is .008 to .010
Exhaust valve spacing is .012 to .013
    The tighter the better!
Torque spec for all 24 adjusters are 10 ft/lbs of torque

Hello thanks for a no BS straight up video on this topic, How do you set the motor back on cylinder 1 Top dead cender to get the motor ready to start? Just turn till you see #1 displayed in the upper cover “TV.?
I am asking because i made a terrible mistake a a few days ago because i did not set the motor on cylinder 1 top dead center to conplete the session; when i put everything back together and started the car, oh boy, clattering big time so i did it last night again & that is how i came accross your video.

Thanks! The cams have the cup set numbers and the block has a dot that you line them up too. I was searching for videos of this and decided I’d make a better one

@@camberedlex dang sounds like i gotta go back and do it all over because i was line the cam kine (located under the number) & some type of line on the valve cover plastic and guess what i said “right on the money” so much so i thought i got it. Thing is the first time i did it my upper tming cover was removed and there was never a dot so i decided to install it because i thought i had the wrong alignment

I did a few videos doing the engine pull, they are long and I was leaning along the way😅

@@camberedlex awesome lol, ill check your playlist. Id love to view everything. Regarding how to set the motor back to cylinder 1 TDC after the valve adjustment procedure, is it as easy as just turn the crank clockwise from 6 till the 1 mark lines up with the cover mark please?

@@DFWAuto_Hack exactly that, it’s pretty easy but intimidating! My first crank over after the new timing belt had me clenching my cheeks 😂

@@camberedlex funny loli did not even replace the belt yet but im slowly getting there. My Honda accord has displayed bizzare performance issues. I had a junkyard motor installed; its been acting like it has pneumonia or covid since; these are great cars when they run; i had an o4 before and then got this but ive been trying to fix it in vain this far. With compression sitting at 195 i am not thinking timing but i check it all and the misfire still remains. Im about to learn how to use my scope and set it on it

@@DFWAuto_Hack as long as the belt it good, mine was cracked all around and I had crazy valve tick! So I did it all with the engine out. I leaked oil everywhere there was a seal. Now zero leaks!
